Got rid of the Tim when I sold a ton of pedals to buy my vintage Strat, but have been keeping an eye out to get another. At the time I was using the Tim as a low gain pedal, for which it does a great job, but other pedals could do a similar job. Now I wish I kept it but am glad I kept the KoT instead as the prices and wait time are crazy.
Considering most people don’t run the gain at max, I agree. Though these days it’s almost a moot point as you’re looking at a couple years waiting list or buying used, at which point just get the least expensive one you can.
@@GuitarTonePro a couple?? Try 4 years now….! Now shipping to folk on list as at 10 October 2017. I got on it 27 Oct 2017, so getting close and now watching lots of vids about the options choices! Good vid btw.
Oh man, how do they even manage that list! I’m pretty sure I have my name on the list somewhere as I want to get another one without the high-gain option and with the mode switch, not sure when I put my name in though so I’ll have to double check.
@@GuitarTonePro 😂 Hey man, if you feel like responding, I’m curious about your final conclusions about the KOT… is it something you personally actually like to use? I know I will have to make my own decision, but I’m just curious… do you really think it is a good pedal, at least for yourself?
For me the KOT is one of my favorite drive pedals. It’s pretty transparent in that it doesn’t color the sound too much so it maintains the character of the guitar and amp being used. I bought mine a long time ago when the wait was just 8 months and used prices weren’t crazy. At current prices ($800) I’d find it hard to buy another, not because it isn’t worth it, but because there are many great sounding pedals out there now for much less. Somewhat crazily, a Shin’s Dumbloid can be had for less and more easily, which is my primary other main drive pedal.
Thanks for making this!
You’re most welcome! Thanks for watching.
Do you still have the Tim? If so can you do a demo of comparing it to KOT? Also which do/did u like better?

Thanks!
Thanks for this comparison video. I like the normal gain both side
