- Panthers are an iconic German tank of the Second World War. This new box set from Battlefront for D-Day Germans gives us the Panther A in plastic - with the added bonus of zimmerit!
Join me as I look at the plastic, take a quick look at the Panther's history, and consider how best to use Panthers on the tabletop.

This review kit was generously supplied by Alex at Battlefront. I would like to thank them for their generous support.
I look forward to your videos. These are great.
Thanks. Glad you find them useful.
(6:52) Timestamp that is a Panther A (early variant) You can tell by the cupola being from an (A) turret but the body is still the same as the (D) shown by no ball turret, the later variant had the ball turret. Then replaced by the (G). Just something I learned from some time ago.
Thanksfor that.
Another super review! I agree the Zimmerite may look a little uniform on the model but from the photos of Panthers and other tanks that used it the patterns became very uniform and quite neat as production continued. Sometimes it is difficult for me to see the Zimmerite in certain photos. Overall this is a very fine kit and should paint up nicely. Thanks for sharing this.
Thats the "waffle tin" pattern. Some Units got special trays to apply the Zimmerit in this form.
Excellent video again, Harry :-) I already have 5 Panthers. But I will probably add 5 more just because I like the zimmerit look.
They were fun to build. If you just want one, I bet these will come out in a TANKS blister fairly soon.
I have to figure out what list I want to make for the D-Day germans and how big an army I want to have :-)
I’m tossing up between Panthers and Tigers as support for my D-Day Panzer IV formation.
Have you made a decision yet?
Maybe you could do a video about an actual game of flames of war?
Hi Jan. I never get to play. That's one of the reasons I make videos. But Col. Clausewitz does some great Battle Reports, as do The Acceptable Casualties and All Miniatures Great and Small. Maybe check these channels out. (PS. I always lose! Don't want to put that on youtube!)
Look great
I certainly enjoyed the build. It's a nice kit.
They look nice.
They were fun to build. The "toe-in" on the tracks was the only real issue I had.
Might need to use decal softener to get them to conform to the zimerit.
Yes. I was thinking that. I have a bottle of MicroSol somewhere...
Love your reviews, keep em up. I have painted many of your reviewed models.

Best regards.
Thanks for the link!
Well presented but again the price and I question value for money really. PSC remain the leader of plastics giving more variation and options at a much lower cost .
Then you might like my next video...
