I think videos like this should serve as strong evidence for the ‘less is more’ approach to board game collection. When managing a collection ie deciding what to play, what to get rid of, feeling ‘obliged’ to play a game etc, starts to become a burden you probably have too many games. I know it’s an occupational hazard for a content creator but I can think of friends who have collections that to me seem ridiculously big & unwieldy and yet they are still adding to it.
One thing i like about Wonderland's War is i think it's length is more modular than people think, since it has an A/B/A/B/A/B formula i've found you can easily do one or two A/B sets and call it a night.
It seems like a video like this is a little more difficult for you since you’re moving around a lot, but I really enjoy the aspect of hearing your thought process as you go through your collection each year and determine whether a game is staying or going. Thanks for another great year of content! Happy New Year, Alex!
Both Endeavor games are great and while there are simularities I think both have their place in a collection. I love the combat in the original and the race for certain cities - areas but I also love the exploration and random map lay-out of the new one….
For me Cyberpunk 2077 Gangs of Night City is more accessible and faster to play then Lords of Hellas (I would compare it because of the similar core mechanics). It is actually a fun and fast play. I love the powers the edgerunners give you, as I am a sucker for powers and abilities. The story’s you play are a surprise Theodora’s time you play. If you play it with a regular group, they also can become part of the strategy. You know what might come and work towards it or try and make it harder for others to reach. Amazing concept and love the way it works in this game. And too underscore, for me it really works!
Always enjoy a new Purge. Not seeing a lot of keeps for sentimental reasons. I have a few of those wife would be upset if I got rid of because of that.
Weirdly enough, I got Titans because it looked great on your background. Although I would think that it won't compare to your favorite area control games.
Understand but sad to see Endeavor Age of Sail go. Haven't gotten Endeavor Deep Sea yet but may follow in your footsteps. Debated on just giving Wonderland's War to my youngest daughter as it is her second favorite game of all time because, like you, I find it's just too long to get to the table frequently. Looking forward to part two!
Endeavor age of sail is great and different enough, but at the end of the Day, deep Sea is better and has a great solo mode ( and shelf space is limited). So age of sail is going in my house.
its funny i could tellyou had filmed this before your top 100 before you realized you left skyrise off your top 100 because the terraforming mars box was fixed in that and was driving me bonkers in this clip

PS what IS your approach to deciding what to play on a games night?
When you showed Inis and told me that it's totally safe, I knew you were a real one

For anyone interested in what was used to get Wonderlands off the shelf its a dent removal tool for cars.
Is it? Just Google suction cup on Amazon and look for the bright orange ones 🙂
@BoardGameCo yup I see them all the time in harbor freight and advanced auto.
I agree Wonderland's War is too long with 4 players, but with 3 we found it to be just the right length.
Given the volume of games that you play to review, it's somewhat remarkable you ever have time to go back and play anything just because you like it.
I need to get me one of those suction cup things. I just fought with trying to get a box out yesterday that I pushed back too far.
Wife and I absolutely love Viticulture. Couldn’t imagine our collection without it
Ohhh man…Wonderlands war is too good to purge.

Where can I get that tool for pulling out a game from the kallax? I use shoe strings, but sometimes they fall.
In the link in the video :)

Ill take whatever you're getting rid of...

What happens to your purged games?
Haven't played Robinson's Crusoe yet?
Sadly not :(
Do you sell, donate, or gift your purged games?

Lol yep :D
You skipped Dune Imperium and Uprising, assuming they’re both safe? :)
Yes :)
do you still have Divinity original sins ?
Did you get rid of Endless Winter? I see it dropped out of your top 100.
If you didn't talk so fast, you would be my favorite none-regular playthrough channel. Love your personable presentation.
Try x .85 speed
Edit: It's what I do when listening while at work.
Alex loves his coffee. You can enjoy him more decaffeinated. 😊
You skipped SAS: Rogue Regiment…is it safe?
Yes :)
I am surprised you keep Tanares. I understand you have been paid for a playthrough but it is over a year since your last game.
I still want to finish it :)
@BoardGameCo then we shall look forward to the next playthroughs
I'd love a focused video on 2 player friendly bigger box games, I'ts what I scour these haul list and purge videos trying to find for fiance and I
What happens to those games you "get rid of" ? 😱
What's that tool you used to pull board games out? A suction cup?

What brand is the suction cap your using? I’ve got to many board games that have a very snug fit in my kallax cupboards 🫣
