Spirit Fire is the highest risk game on my current crowdfunding list. Backed based on how much I enjoy Unsettled. You could tell that during the campaign that they could barely explain it. No way it ships in 2025. I’m ok with that. Plenty in the queue. If it was a $400 all-in I’d feel way differently and wouldn’t have backed it.
Well it's time I subscribed. So here I go. Love boardgame youtubers that really speaks their mind and have great arguments. Even if I from time to time do not agree, or put the same weight to them, it is still more valuable to me than the pure hypers. And you also have no illusions of yourself it seems, don't know how to put it in other words. Keep up the great work! =) Btw I see that you have taken out Northgard and put it back with another side out since the last video I watched. Have you played it or just rearranged the shelves? Do you like it? I like it but feel I really miss the warchief expansion and I've heard there is another bigger expansion on the horizon. Have a great day! =)

Rearranged more than anything else! there is another campaign on the horizon i believe as well this year..or at least previously planned!
2026? :D latest update was that mass production is almost finished. Sounds like they are targetting to get it on boats before this years Chinese new years so prolly delivery in april
The only game I backed in this set was Spirit Fire. I'm getting it specifically for solo play so I didn't pay for a second or third set. Even so it was very expensive. I view it as high risk and I don't expect it to deliver until 2026. I backed it because I think it will be very different from most other games and I don't expect the publisher to disappear. Whether it will be great or even good is uncertain.
'nother Spirit Fire here.... enticed by emphasis on 'lack of combat'... but that's no longer so novel; but I am solo so hoping it'll work for me. Was almost a Dragon Eclipse person (v early in my intro to crowdfunding) but realised I was only seeing dragons, once I saw a hint of gameplay I was out.
Can you say anything about Knight Games? Because I had backed their Batman Escape from Arkham game and cancel that and lost some money on it because I do not believe they are going ever to release it? Greetings from the Netherlands
I hope Valheim (a game I fully backed as one of my first ever crowdfunding experiences) does NOT fall into this high risk/high reward category. I'm very hopeful this game will arrive on schedule sometime this October. Also, for 2025, I'm interested in possibly backing Pixel and Polygons and also the Champions of Midgard 10th Anniversary Edition. I wonder where they fall on the risk/reward scale.
I’m pretty new to the hobby. Nemesis Retaliation is my first crowdfunding and sequel to my first big game in my collection: Nemesis. Cyberpunk is one of my last “big ones”, because I can see this FOMO must stop. 😂 With that being said, fingers crossed you’ll be kind for these and to not shatter my excitement. 😁
Ugh… sadly - same here - they’re doing their best given the IP legal issue but I’ve stopped looking at the timeline so closely - when it shows up, it’ll be a pleasant surprise- but until then it’s just an idea lol
Santorini is a fantastic game, but it already had fantastic components. I didn’t back, because it is a game I don’t want to be cooperative, but I do hope they release all the new updated cards, I would buy that immediately.

yeah that would be nice for the MANY previous owners
Happy New Year, Chris. I agree with your take on God of War. It feels like it's an afterthought for CMON . I just got the base pledge. I also backed Nemesis Retaliation. I don't have any of the previous games in the series, and I'm ok with that. I am not a fan of Go On Board's style. I don't like the direction that have taken the Witcher games. They throw miniatures on what is essentially a euro style games and there is no need for it. Obviously the gameplay does not appeal to me.
I'm still very much on the fence if I should order "Nemesis Retaliation" when the pledge manager reopens in a few weeks. I highly doubt that it is streamlined and improved over the first two Nemesis games. It's not! It's definitively not! It's just a different approach trying to offer more shooting at aliens. But that design approach led to tiny alien miniatures and a humanoid alien queen and such problems. And it's so many boxes, quite expensive and has questionable miniature designs chosen by backers. I'm really not sure if I can justify dumping 250+€ into that.
The only one on your list I backed is "Nemesis Retaliation" mostly because I have played but do not own the previous iterations of the game and I thought this would be a good entry for me. I guess I will see how it plays once it arrives. I typically pass on heavy IP games like God of War. I have been far too disappointed in the past.
I didn't back any of these, but if I did it'd be Nemesis as I never played it and it seems great. Might consider it after retail and reviews hit so I can chose the best out of the trilogy for me
Nemesis retaliation: I suspect this might appeal more to the US market. More firepower / shooting / gung ho, as against the more alien 1.5 of the original (and lockdown wasn't too far away from the original). I chuckled at the phrase 'Hopium' ... very clever. I recall Marcin of AR saying they weren't into IP games, but if he had to choose one IP to be involved with, it would have been Pokemon. I suspect that thought was the genesis of Dragon Eclipse. Not a game that in any way appealed to me, but fair play to those it does appeal to. ... but who is that standing behind the Harry Potter threesome? He looks vaguely familiar...
On "Mordred" I just have to say that my impression was that some of the miniatures were nice, but the game seemed like a trainwreck. It's a weird try by CMON to make "Blood Rage"-like game without Eric Lang. And the arrangement of the content into boxes with so many very similar factions and important rules only in an KS exclusive box was completely off and a big red flag.

I just absolutely could not tell with it even at the end.
That Cyberpunk game looks like generic dungeon crawler, so i passed it. Can't wait for Nemesis Retaliation! I only played first one and all my minis are painted! So more minis to paint! :D
With Nemesis: Retaliation, I've seen at least two people really love that game in a "Let's play again" kind of way, so I am not too concerned about it.

Like usual, as long as you know what you're getting yourself into it'll turn out much better, but sometimes in this hobby...
Dragon eclipse I had many mixed emotions over the span of that campaign. When everything rules wise finalized and the pledge manager closed I feel like it’s in a great spot to be really good though. I’m no longer worried about things like difficulty and deck sizes and Op builds, and the pvp and rogue lite modes will keep the game more replayable and fresh beyond the average AR campaign game. The crowdfunding game I’m most concerned about that I’ve backed is probably grimcoven currently. I could see that game being amazing but it also has major issues and can see it equally being awful.

yeah if there's much actual building in that setting, i'd easily continue to pass. casual sure, more intense, probably not for me
The first two Nemesis games feel like the same game with different maps to me - not unlike different scenarios in a game like CDmD. Retaliation looks like a completely different game with similar mechanical roots to me. Time will tell I suppose
I was thrown off by The Witcher: Path of Destiny. I thought it was an expansion for Witcher: Old World. I need someone to do a comparison video, so I can see which Witcher is better.
Okay. But, in your opinion, is one better? I understand your opinion is not my opinion or anyone else's. I'm just curious what someone, who has played both, thinks is better for whatever reason.

@@jacobjslee Well hardly anyone has played path of destiny so by default right now old world.
For what it's worth, I don't throw any money at the Harry Potter license. Not in years. Because I don't want my momey going to a transphobic cyberbully. But to each their own. But police do investigate suicides that come from either bullying in school, or online, here in the US. So I take it seriously.
CMON fumbled heavily with the God of War board game franchise. Every single aspect of their game is disappointing at best, and completely lame at worst. Even the minis are weird-looking and misshapen, with sculpted makeup and tattoos. Kratos has too large of a head. On top of that, it's based on the recent GoW game, but not one single Norse god is invloved. So much wasted potential! It should have funded over 2 million.

i'm still hopeful with the Dune situation, but who knows nowadays
Team standee on Dragon Eclipse, but i took all miniature gamelpay for nemesis. Didnt back cyberpunk cos i dont like real time and i think witcher is gonna be boring.

Elden Ring is clearly on the top of "Might be amazing, might be giant letdown" list for me :)
Same. I backed it, but I'm fairly certain now that I won't like it. 😂
completely forgot about it otherwise it should have made the list....maybe though for 2026...

Keep Washington for Retaliatio to be "Aliens in a box" but the original was such a letdown I did not dare back it.
