It would be impossible not to find vegan food spots in Athens, because it is a city adapting to the tastes of its visitors… But I thought there would be traditional Greek dishes made originally only of plant ingredients, like beans or okra, which qualify as vegan options even in modern times. I think vegan substitutes for animal products can be sometimes overprocessed food.
I live in Thessaloniki Greece and I have to say that we have more vegan options than new York. I went there this summer and I struggled to find something to eat
Οf course Feyrous sandwich was not Greek dish but ok who cares. Actually the best places to learn tons of vegan recipes are the Greek monasteries which almost all year around they prepare for their monks vegan food. To be honest I was expecting to see plates like gemista or dolmades or cabbage dolmades around. Do you know that there is a vegan version for mousaka? With soya instead of meat and milk of soya in the Bessamel cream instead of regular milk?

Yes agreed! Are you vegan?
@@ChelseyExplores no I am tempted to eat those 😅😂
Greek food has so many vegan options due to many religious fasts throughout the year
