#jonsdiy Tools used to make this jig:
    DeWalt Table Saw: amzn.to/2BQnXRr
    DeWalt Miter Saw: amzn.to/2EBBak6
    DeWalt Cordless Brad Gun: amzn.to/2Eb8Oz3
    Elmers Wood Glue: amzn.to/2GFdImB
In this video I show you how to make a framing jig that will allow you to make frames of all kinds of sizes. Once you make this jig you will never attempt to cut a frame with a miter saw again.

To minimize splinters and cuts. I use the thin Gorilla Mechanic gloves with that thin poly coating excellent gripping from Home Depot. I cut 1in off the tip of the thumb and index finger. Works great for me. I am a Guitarist and splinters and cut fingers are not allowed if you want to perform at any time. Keep up the great work.

E Caff, first I want to say that I own those gloves and use them to metal detect all the time. Second, I have learned that you should never wear gloves when using a table or miter saw. I have been chastised numerous times by viewers for wearing gloves in my videos. If you watch some of my later videos you will notice that I no longer wear gloves. Thanks for you comment and keep strumming. Jon

How does every wood DIY video start off with...I had a piece of (insert type of wood) lying around from another project. I guess I don't do enough projects to get all the scrap wood needed for other projects. LOL

Omg so true. And my problem is that I can’t bring myself to throw even the smallest pieces of scrap wood away. I literally have buckets of scrap wood. I admit I have issues with keeping all wood but I guess it pays off in the end for videos like this. Lol

Very practical, efficient, and accurate. Thank you for sharing. The only time that I refuse to use gloves is when I am shaping metal on a grinder. I'm a Tinsmith for 23 years and a Carpenter for 40 years. At the plant we always try to K.I.S.S. (Keep it Simple Stupid).Excellent idea and video. Thanks for sharing. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Caff, I have been blasted in all my videos for wearing gloves. I understand the dangers but Splinters suck.

@@JONSDIY In your video you mentioned that if we weren't sure how to use the guide, keep watching. Sorry, it isn't obvious to me how to use it. I can't find the explanation about how to use it amongst your posted videos.

Barry, yes sorry I use to have links on cards near the end of the video. UA-cam did away with cards and they deleted all my links. But I can show you a few videos where I use it. (see below)The key is to alternate your piece when cutting from one side to the other. Even if your frame was not perfectly center but your block is square your joints still come out perfect.
