I was at the match where her flicked the ball over the runners head. It was the last game played in the old Lansdowne Road.
There’s a side to BO’Ds game that never really gets the attention it deserves. Ireland used to love the out and out Number 7. The fast ground hog jackal threat that could get there early. When BO’D came along we then went with two “6 and a half’s” because BO’D was so magnificent defensively that he’d be there first and doing what a 7 would be doing.
Arguably he re-defined what a 13 did at the time. Quality player.
My all time favourite 13. Nonu at 12 and this guy at 13 in my all time team.

@@MeanAzz_13 we were glad to see the back of schmidt, he was there long enough. Rugby has always been nz's national sport but only number 4 in ireland maybe that's why it took a century.

Considering how he ripped teams apart in a mediocre irish team I reckon he'd be frightening in a top team (which ireland now are).
He would be a dead cert in today's Irish team, by Irish standards 😂. And right now Irish standards are THE standard.
