Your house looks like the set of a 90’s horror film 🔥🔥🔥
I knowwww lol
Finally some with some proper anamorphic characteristics
🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
" You as a DP is not to make accurate images. You are there to make pretty images." Nice to see a small channel that has great content. Thanks for the review.
would love to see more of your test footage, it's really beautiful, love to see the other lenses just test footage!
I'll keep that in mind next time!
I just ordered the 45mm for my X-H2S. Can't wait to test it.
Lets goooo
let go bro love it man 🔥
You already know!
I’m living these uploads .. super laid back and just shooting the shit .. by far prefer these reviews vs the overly tech ones🎉
Thanks brotha! More to come
You was like "I don't know if it'll flare right now." Then it flared of the sticker on your hat. Dope.
I peeped that too hahaha
Am i in a Dreamworld? My eyes hurt so beautiful lens! And you're in a country home, what a feeling classic. Congrats and good luck with sunny there country. Even me watching this i feel like closing my eyes, my head hurts when goes to sunny. 😭
Jealous of the house man, congrats. Love my Blazar set, they are killing it
Appreciate man! Big fan of your channel
Looks beautiful bro!
Appreciate it!
Yup! Don't get me wrong, the S35-35 looks great.... or I could speedboost my 45 and save the cash, which is what I've opted for.
The Remus set as a whole, what a banger to start the year off for 2024, great product and I love them.
For sure
Man this is a good one. And that look is crazy. Def a cop.
Yesssiirrr you would crush it
The texture and….presence…of the background even wide open is really something special. The breathing is…interesting. With the DJI autofocus lacking intention, it is a bit distracting. But with intentional pulls and blocking, no big deal.
That last sigh translates to “Shoot this looks too fire. Brace for overwhelming wave of shot ideas.”
Exactly lol
I was initially super disappointed in my Remus 45/65/100 on the Gfx/Xhs2- really soft. HOWEVER- on my s5iix with a more expensive (better?) PL adaptor they are much much better. Still need shimmed but after watching this video I’ve preordered this as well!
Super excited for your new space.
they look like they can cut nicely with old Kowa anamorphics. pretty crazy how cheap they’re set at (they’re among the cheapest PL lenses period, let alone anamorphic)
So true
I'm digging the jazzy tunes. Speaking of elevators, have you seen Lewis Pott's video on a DIY elevator set?
I noticed the FOV of the 35mm on the Fuji is wider than the 45mm with Speedbooster on the Kinefinity. (Was this because of cropping to 16:9?) Yet, when both lenses were on the Kinefinity, the 45mm with SpeedBooster had a wider FOV.
The set in a barn out in the country. That's the dream.
Truly
Great video. I am really intrigued by your focusing system and external screen. What a usufull set up you have. Would you share info on what are you using and how to build one?
Fantastic content and shots especially few frames of your kids playing. Well done. I feel inspired to film my daughter now
Im pretty sure it’s the DJI lidar pro combo focus system or whatever the name is, Cam Mackey has been covering it recently as well with these lenses
Thank you for watching! Yeah I can make a build video on it. There some new coming from DJI in July. So stay tuned
The lenses look great, but I can't stress this enough, your grade looks fabulous. The Kinefinity and the Fuji really blend well.
you’re too kind ha honestly I wasn’t too precious with the grade. I just got to a spot that I liked. I want to get better at this.
Thats a very sweet looking image. Im really digging the barrel distortion. Was this shot on open gate?
Yeah I bounced between open gate and dci. I noteded it n the video
Fire! Hope I can find some from a local rental house. Great video!
Hopefully @lensrentals will have it!
Cool stuff man! Question: did you try to mount the speed booster on the S35 35mm with the S35 camera to see if it works and how wide it gets?
Thanks
Lol. So it doesn't work like that. The speed booster is for FF lenses.
2:10 That chromatic aberration is insane - in a good way
Haha nice
Your new place looks like the house of Interstellar lol looks like a great place, congrats!!
It does!
Oh man! You’re costing me a fortune with these lens reviews!
HAHA sorry!
Hey great video! I have a fx30 (s35) I was wondering if the speedbooster EF to E mount works with the Remus 45/65/100 ?
Which mount you use on your speedbooster the EF or PL ?
Hey it might, I only know of the metabones e to ef speed booster but that's for zeiss lenses. You should contact them
My mount is From kinefinity for the kinemount
I recommend pl lenses. Its a better investment long term
It's a time to be alive right now for lens options.
you can say that again, my guy
ps and you have a new subscriber just like that :)
Thanks for subbing!
Did you desqueeze vertically or horizontally? Also did you ever use this with a speed booster just to see if it can get stupid bright?
In this video…its horizontal. I didn't bother. 1.6 is plently bright
I see the distortion but once again it’s a characteristic that you either like or hate.. every lens has its own thing! But it does look clean, I like the shot with the kids in the grass, very (dare I say it) cinematic lol😅
HOW DARE YOU! Haha yeah for some quick run and gun shots, it looks good
Am I spotting a xs20 far right in the frame; excellent videos as usu🎉al
Yep! It's my A camera for youtube at the moment
I'm a bit confused. What adapter do I need for the 45mm lens to work on the Fuji x mount?
PL to xmount
Woah the Remus 45T2 looks sharp with the speedbooster? What speedbooster were you using and were you wide open?
I'm using the kinemount speedbooster
@@CineDailies were you wide open?
@@chinitopinoy1726 probably at a 2.4
Have you tried using the speedbooster wide open with the Remus 35 1.5x? It will probably vignette but just want to see what center sharpness looks like.
At that point you'll be cropping in because of the vignetting… so it'll be basically a 45mm
@@CineDailies I know I just wanted to see it. My Camera is 2/3 sensor camera (Chronos 1.4) and wanted to use a speedbooster with the the 35 T1.6. Just wanted to see what the center sharpness would be. I know my camera will clear it by a long shot due to my crop factor which is 3.9X.
I’m realizing that the entire Midwest kind of looks the same, but is there any chance you’re outside of Wichita, KS? I’m strongly considering getting a set of the full frame lenses, but I’d love to check them out in person before ordering.
Haha you're so right. I'm in northern Indiana
what NDs are you using with this lens for your xh2s?
Oh it's the moment VND
it looks beautiful, the only problem i have is the panning distortion on the corners.. maybe i will wait for the 33mm fullframe one to use on s35 sensor to get rid of that problem
that’s the classic anamorphic style though, what i mind more is their 65 and 100 being weak on image quality
@@frankhu8692 for me personaly its too distracting and i find the 65mm the most beautiful to be honest
you will always have more distortion on wider anamorphic lenses at a stronger squeeze 1.5 1.6 1.8 and 2X
Is that the DJI Lidar? I was going to pick that up but now I’m having second thoughts.
Yeah, whats your concern? Anamorphic lenses will aways be thought to focus wide open.🤷🏽♂️
@@CineDailies it seemed to be struggling to find focus quite a bit.
Nice house
Thank you
i would prefer the 45+speedbooster that I can use without speedbooster so I have 2 lenses + I can have a 1.4crop on the xh2s and still 4k + if I move to full frame I have FF lenses
Yeah it's nice look for sure
how look the 35mm on XH2S with OG ? why only shoot 16/9 or 17/9 (great video btw)
I didn't have a strong ND for most of the outside shots so I filmed in 60p to help my exposure.
@@CineDailies thats a good reason 👍😁. I Hope to see that in another vidéo. 👌 Thanks !
@@chalexdark2925 haha yeah ha still unboxing all of my stuff ha
Where you got this lens from? I’m unable to locate any online store which is selling these
This! Are they even for sale yet?
I got early access. They are on sale now
I would like to get this lens, buuut sadly there is a lot of color fringing 2:08 which I don't like having in my videos. A bit is okey but that's a lot.
Cool
Should I buy a speedbooster when adapting that S35 lens to Fujifilm H2s?
No - use the speed booster for the FF lenses. You would be cropping in to get rid of the vignette on the 35mm if you used a speed booster.
@@CineDailiesThanks so much! Do you have a recommendation for a compact field monitor with de-squezze function for the H2s ? I thought of the Atomos Shinobi maybe?
@@timu6129 yeah sure that would have a 1.5 De-s
Can you rent first ?
@@CineDailies yes, can do that to test it out
@@timu6129 perfect. Rent the atomos and the smallhd indie 5 or 7
I am suprised, guy with channel mostly focused on anamorphic said anamorphic lenses can not be used with speedbooster bc of back element. This is pleasant suprise.
It really depends on the rear element design. The Remus is a relatively short element that doesn’t move when focusing
No open gate shot on the xh2s?
I didn't have a strong ND for most of the outside shots so I filmed in 60p to help my exposure.
@@CineDailies is there a difference in exposure when you shoot 3:2 compared to 16:9/17:9? 🫨
Can’t do open gate on 60p
@@lfwesanderson oh, now I get it. Thanks!
The elevator is going to be the easiest part I would use a 2500 pound winch and you can do a pulley grab from above in reverse
Haha
So what mount is s35 Blazar, is it x mount?
It's PL and EF
But i thought its s35 mount, pl and ef are ff?
@@imrancaner2344 all of the blazers come in PL or EF mounts. FF and S35. The mounts don't determine the image circle of a lens
Hmm i see, i also have xh2s. So it means if i take a s35 blazar i dont need a x0.71 glass adapter right? I only need adapter without glass. Thanks btw!
@@imrancaner2344 correct, the 35mm is S35 so it will cover it. but you can use FF glass too - you just cant see the full image circle of the lens
This looks unusable unless your goal is to wes Anderson center frame everything. How can I shoot a side profile of two people engaged in conversation if they're going to squished with distortion?
I would maybe expect this with a 24mm if they ever went that wide.. but this is a 50mm equivalent on s35 and it's this distorted?
Hopefully the full frame 33mm will be better.
Lol have you used anamorphic lenses before? This is not a “50mm” equivalent in terms of FOV. Divide 35mm by 1.5 and thats your width.
A 33mm will most likely have the same distortion.
Watch anamorphic on a budget, you'll learn a lot!
@@CineDailies I've only used adapters. Some I've stayed away from BECAUSE of the fishbowl look.
You don't have to use a lense like this to see what it does. I've watched other videos with the same lens and the results are the same.. too rediculously distorted for my taste.
@@fourth1000 cool - try the viltrox anamorphics
@@CineDailies have u tried the Laowas? Thoughts?
@@fourth1000 yeah currently testing the proteus 2x anamorphics
The lens looks better on the Fuji.
Sure sure
Looks fine but the focus breathing is a deal breaker for my tastes! 👍🏾🙏🏾 🏴🇸🇪🇹🇹
It's an anamorphic lens. There will always be breathing
Uncle Remus
ROTF
Thank you for not holding the lavalier in your hand.
Sometimes I do ha
i dont like it
