For anyone looking for a build advice, I would recommend prioritizing the Puppet Sting Legion Arm, no matter if Strength, Dex, Quality or Advance is the focus. The final upgrade tier of this arm is as close to an i-win button as you will get in this game, trivializing most elites and making a lot of the bosses significantly easier. Cowboy never used it, so it is not recommended, but it is by far the best skill in the game (I only found out in NG+).
With an Advance build you may want focus on puttng quartz into extra throwables/consumables, recharge fable and legion on heal, kill, or automatically, etc. A little bit of everything goes a long way. There are upgrades that make it so fable art effects last longer, such as the Radiate art on the Acidic Crystal Spear (greatly increases Acid ATK temporarily). I don't think the P-organ is anything to gloss over. Throwables are important to Advance builds so being able to carry more is obviously of great benefit.

Will be interesting to compare the two builds as I progress, and interested to see how Advance holds up in NG+ cycles, or if I'll need to respec to a Motivity build. Whoever said Advance isn't viable is deluded lol 😆

Use the shock legion arm. It’s a beast. I love using the shock, thermite and decay/acid throwable items because they scale with advance as well and they do a ton of damage. It’s taken me anywhere to 2-4 attempts to take down all of the bosses so far. I’m having a blast and you should try it! I plan on doing a technique build on NG+.

You don't need to have every single element in your character at all times. Generally enemies from the same area are all of the same type and therefore weak to the same type of damage. This is true until very late in the game. So you can just pick the weapon you need for the area you are. When it comes to legion arms, honestly, just use the puppet string. It doesn't matter it doesn't scale with Advance, you don't use the arm for the damage, use it for the utility. The puppet string has the best utility when it is maxed out for its gap closer/leaping attack that deals a lot of damage and stagger dmg. Another good option is the shield one. The elemental ones are just traps, don't use them. And yeah, advance builds are pretty OP, just make sure you are matching the element with the enemy's weakness. Acid > Humans Fire > Carcasses Electricity > Puppets When choosing the P organs bonuses, always go for anything that improves your guard regain, it is OP. Then you can just normal guard and heal like crazy just by attacking.

I went with an advance build and the salamander dagger is actually quite good. It has a great moveset and it’s really good on those frenzied zombie enemies as well as the archbishop boss, so it’s useful against a lot of enemies. I definitely recommend using it.
@@datnibba6120I’m only about 60-70% of the way through the game, my stats now are: 29 vitality, 20 capacity, 10-12 vigor, 15-20 advance. I invested heavily into vitality and capacity for more survivability early because god knows you’re gonna need it. I slowly put more points into advance over time and i’ll continue putting more into it but early game most of your damage comes from the weapon upgrades and the health is more important. I upgraded the link dodge and the pulse charge, and the rising dodge. I’d recommend getting the skill that extends groggy duration so you don’t miss a critical hit. The one in the skill list not the actual node itself. I got up to 8 pulse charges where I am now and i’m still burning through all of them because damn these bosses and mini bosses are tough. In phase 3 I also upgraded the node that boosts the recovery of pulse charges. Right now i’m using the electric buzzsaw with the electric coil stick handle (it’s strong), the fire dagger still, and the acidic crystal spear
@@Johnpaulthesecond They’re both essentials, coil stick being good against puppets, and fire on zombies/“carcasses”. The fire dagger remains good for essentially the whole game, you don’t unlock the black steel cutter blade until chapter 9, and sometimes the fire dagger may still be preferred because it’s quicker. Eventually I put the electric saw on the coil handle and that’s really good as well, pretty much a direct upgrade from the coil head
I put the electric coil on the salamander dagger handle... it makes the wep very fast. But the kicker is that its charged heavy comes out VERY fast. This means that its easy to proc shock and capitalize on stagger. This weapon combo alone has carried me through the game without issue.
I've done a similar build, but I did the reverse of your physical stats. So 30 Capacity, 21 Vigor and 20 Vitality and it opened a bit more freedom in terms of different advance blades. Acidic Great sword and Salamander ended up being my go-tos
I love this game. I just made it to chapter 9. And I do feel the balance in this game needs to be looked into. Balance is way off in this game. But besides that great video. I've been loving the two dragon sword. Definitely my favorite weapon so far.

Throwing cells are a godsend in some scenarios. They were a lifesaver in this one level where I had to fight two brutally hard mini bosses that gate progression. I don’t know if I would’ve gotten passed without them tbh
@@grimreefer213some of those you don't have to kill, but they yield Quartz, so kind of yes - a must kill at some point. My first blind playthrough throwables carried me a lot. Those clutch boss fights where you need some extra damage on the boss or extra stagger, but beware that they are in limited supply and hardly farmable, so use them sparingly.

I would argue that the dagger is a better innate fire weapon because it's ability gives more fire attack and is more readily accessible than the fire cleaver. Fire cleaver wins on sex appeal though.
Motivity builds have a lot of options tbh, including a heavy hitting single fable attack (does like 7k damage per hit full charge or something ridiculous like that) Also some fable art attacks give hyper armor although I think it's RNG if you'll tank it or not

Interesting take. My personal take - the Fable arts that apply grinder to your weapon kind of take away your actual grinder enchants. So it's somewhat an overlap or a conflict if you will. It totally works, just merely sharing personal preference.

@@Fishster A bit late but yes, when you get closer to the end of the game you'll be able to buy infinite mats up to +9, it's the boss weapon mats that aren't infinite as far as I can tell
i dont know why but i cant start with the organ upgrades like you did... they are simply not available lol. maybe everyone has other upgrades? NVM: you have to do it in another order than shown in the video
I feel like advance is going to end up being a broken state that everyone says will be pointless and never invest but later make a video a couple months later say how broke it is and you should invest early on. Luckily there is no main class for it so you should have no problem switching your stats around later regardless of class.
A great alternate handle for the *Circular Electric Chainsaw* is from the *Acidic Great Curved Sword* Its charged heavy attacks are double swings which help it rev up faster for a maxed out *Condensing Slash;* *Absolute Defense* pairs well with the aforementioned *Conquering Amulet* and the *Perfect Guards Charge Fable* P-Organ upgrade allows you to reliably maintain Fable
I like the idea but I put the saw on the salamander handle. Feels like that's only way to get my charged r2 off since we have -12 poise and get knocked out of our wind-up by a strong gust of wind
I always prefer to have the electric coil and salamander dagger, and keep acid legion. Fire is carcasses' weakness, electric is puppets' weakness, and acid is humans' weakness. Youll find much more puppets and carcasses, and barely any humans at all

I feel like the only one running a high capacity run. I dont spend any points on health or stamina technique and just a little in motivity and advance and keep my weight under 30%. Most bosses take me 2 to 3 attempts and im not an experienced souls player.
1:54 He mentioned the Fulminus, which is a Legion Arm, But I think he meant the Electric Coil, the other shock weapon (kinda makes sense why he got them confused)
In some cases it was unlocked later and I went back to the second or third level to pick up something and at that point you can use later unlocks in them
Probably a skill issue here, but honestly, how is advanced build so good early and mid game? It takes far too many hits to build stagger and stamina becomes a big issue after so many hits. Advance seems only worth doing after getting the black steel cutter
No,no if you hit enemy with their element weakness it can really dish a lot of dmg+they also easier to debuffed with that status effect, you just focus on dmg, stagger is just a bonus so a fast hitting weapon actually better in this case. This why most video on laxasia run use acid spear+acid spear handle because decay really shred her.

I'm only about a third into the game so I can't give you a definitive answer, but I started with a dex build and struggled in the third chapter (first area past the demo areas), particularly with the boss. I switched to an Advance build using the electric coil stick and it got much easier.

I also think it's strange with ex weight on legion arm slots you only have one at time you don't have an ex bag on you 😜, I was a little disappointed that only Can have one kind of grindstone on you it could have been nice with two different ones when fighting with Simon because in the first part you can stagger him but next part you can't would have been nice with that (satisfaction grindstone) hop the fix it 🤞🏻 have Nice game out they ✌🏻🎮
@jordanrobe1 I abused the summon to get through the first half easier, then used the perfect block grindstone, then used cannonball throwables anytime I was too far to stun him, and ran my butt off the whole time...
"Advance isnt viable" Im over here thinking that Motivity isnt viable, im not going to be clowning saying the elemental side of things is weak when most weapons with motivity scaling are slow and leave me unable to block or dodge. I will say that its probably easiest to use the other one considering its the only one i havent experienced. But i bet im wrong from shear amount of dps that i probably have.
Hit boss more. And as for second phase, try to keep your summon alive through first phase to surprise Romeo a few times, then use element grindstones to keep damage up. Also, don't be afraid to change out handles, because some movesets are too slow for Romeo.

Ya, it's so op I had to remove it for ng3. It is definitely a free win button against almost everything, even nameless

Echoing this. I found weaving the use of throwables, especially before either myself or a boss closes distance, to be really useful.

Also use special grindstones. There's a few that work even with advance weapons: crit chance, increase stagger, & the best perfect guard for a time

Strength (motivity)builds got shafted. There is no poise system or hyper armor and the enemies attack too quickly to make slower weapons viable.

You unlock it in the P Organ tree but it come with the weight addition as well.

It's amazing dude. Souls, BB and Elden Ring are my fave games man and this is right up there with them. It's brilliant.

2 boss weapons and 4 (maybe 5) normal weapons by the end.

How does one get the weapons to S scaling? Do the handles need to swapped?
You can alter the handles to scale more with any of the 3 offence stats by talking to the girl who upgrades your weapons
What about moonstone upgrades? Are they permanent should I save?
I feel like the only one running a high capacity run. I dont spend any points on health or stamina technique and just a little in motivity and advance and keep my weight under 30%. Most bosses take me 2 to 3 attempts and im not an experienced souls player.

How come I don't see some of the enhancements on my trees. For example I see u have pulse cell recovery but I don't even see that in any of mine
In some cases it was unlocked later and I went back to the second or third level to pick up something and at that point you can use later unlocks in them

It takes far too many hits to build stagger and stamina becomes a big issue after so many hits.
Advance seems only worth doing after getting the black steel cutter
No,no if you hit enemy with their element weakness it can really dish a lot of dmg+they also easier to debuffed with that status effect, you just focus on dmg, stagger is just a bonus so a fast hitting weapon actually better in this case. This why most video on laxasia run use acid spear+acid spear handle because decay really shred her.

So is advanced equal to a strength build or a dex build or a quality build?? I’m getting the game tomorrow and was thinking of starting with a dex type build
I'm only about a third into the game so I can't give you a definitive answer, but I started with a dex build and struggled in the third chapter (first area past the demo areas), particularly with the boss. I switched to an Advance build using the electric coil stick and it got much easier.
It's not really either. Closer to an arcane build from Bloodborne.
I beat the game with advanced build. Personally I had better success using one type of damage (beat the hidden boss with acid arm and acid sword)
For min max what would be the best starting class for advance? Do weapons have minimum stat requirements?

I also think it's strange with ex weight on legion arm slots you only have one at time you don't have an ex bag on you 😜, I was a little disappointed that only Can have one kind of grindstone on you
it could have been nice with two different ones when fighting with Simon

@jordanrobe1 I abused the summon to get through the first half easier, then used the perfect block grindstone, then used cannonball throwables anytime I was too far to stun him, and ran my butt off the whole time...

Im over here thinking that Motivity isnt viable, im not going to be clowning saying the elemental side of things is weak when most weapons with motivity scaling are slow and leave me unable to block or dodge.
I will say that its probably easiest to use the other one considering its the only one i havent experienced. But i bet im wrong from shear amount of dps that i probably have.

Hit boss more. And as for second phase, try to keep your summon alive through first phase to surprise Romeo a few times, then use element grindstones to keep damage up.
Also, don't be afraid to change out handles, because some movesets are too slow for Romeo.
He says he beat the game but doesn't have access to phase 6 which you get after beating the game.... interesting 🤔
