Still one of the top 5 highlights of my many decades of ballet going life, seeing this production of Swan Lake at the Sadler's Wells Theatre in London. I will never be able to see any other version in my mind as this has become the indelible definitive one.
It's so weird watching this and checking out the date and not be able to stop yourself from tabulating how long before Covid it was and sort of marveling at what life was like back then...day to day I don't think so dramatically about it, but there really does seem to be a clear delineation of Before and After. Or maybe we should say Before, During and After, an After that might not be the same as Before but will be fantastic!
Saw this 3 times , utterly perfect
Susan Tuckett oh I’ve yet to see it live....I can dream!
Oh my gosh! I am here because of Salad Days.
Absolutely beautiful!
Random thing.... something I would love seeing is a mixed gender swan flock! I would love seeing a production make a group of swans with both male and female members in swan lake. Would be interesting !
God bless you ❤️
The reason why that doesn't happen is because there are A LOT less men in ballet. If you take away the swan roles you are hurting women. Women have to be exceptional to make it as a pro and men just have to be mid.
Agreed. Would love to see that.
This version is even better.
outstandingly beautiful
Beautiful
Leonie Not only beautiful but absolutely fabulous.
I love how so many people watched this just bc they read salad days

@@Ardenmoth a bl manhua/comic
I really wish I took my moms offer as a child to learn ballet I regret is so much as I actually really really like it but I want to peruse something else now! But ballet will always be something I love to watch being performed
I had to discontinue ballet lessons due to a very annoying congenital foot malformation: Morton's Toe. No "en pointe" for me!
انا شوفته الف مره ومستعد اشوفه الف كمان، مذهل ♥️😮💨!!
Stunning!!!!!!
Exquisite
Salad days. That's it. That's the comment

Being barefoot rather than on pointe makes the dance more grounded and realistic. And more masculine.
😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Sinong andito dahil sa salad days?😭🥲🥴😙
Not me estando acá por "días de juventud"
Bts me condujo hasta aqui
Hermoso trabajo de los bailarines
agree
Who else is here after watching Billy Elliot?
salad days 😭🌈
Is this the Gay Version of swan Lake? 😍😍
not necesarely. this version is about a young prince battleling the menthal strugles of fitting the expectations of his role as a future king and his desire to be a normal person. the lead swan reresents his repressed wild side. i ain't saying it couldn't be interpretaded in that way but the overall context of the play isn't that goal.
I'm here because of salad days 😭 I'm just curious hehe
Ig half ppl r here 4 the same reason after reading salad days:D
What is salad days?
it’s a manhua which the main character is a male who learn ballet and the goal of his dance is the swan lake because he want to confess with the dance

They would not like this in Russia. I quite agree.😒

God dammit I’m such a weeb ;-;

Ok. But change the name of the production alone with apologies to Petr Tch et Al. So 70s throwback
You know Tchaichovsky was gay, right? He'd have loved this.
I love this but would love to see some females in there too.
The entire point was that it was an all male company.
keine balerinas ?,nicht mein geschmack..die männer sind weit vom kunst,..arme welt ohne frauen..dancer,ballerinas..
Terrible!
Tchaikovsky did not compose the ballet Ostrich Lake.
