One of my brothers was on patrol in Vietnam, They hitched a ride with an armored column. They rolled up on a baby in the road. One of the guys jumped down to pick up the baby ...The baby was boobie trapped....
This is the world we live in where there are those who have no value on the life of women and children, and celebrate the killing of them. This is the same thing that happened in Vietnam to our soldiers. It’s going to get worse.

Unfortunately there is people who think that these combat situations are simple and they walk out unscathed these men come back traumatized and left with PTSD THATS WHY PEOPLE NEED TO HEAR THESE STORIES TO REALIZE WHY ITS IMPORTANT TO RESPECT THESE YOUNG MEN BECAUSE IF IT WASN’T FOR THEM WE WOULD BE TAKEN OVER BY VERY DANGEROUS EXTREMISTS WHO SEE US AS NOTHING BUT WASTE 👀
They're almost certainly not alive anymore either. If they were willing to do that to them in the first place, imagine what comes after for not following through with it.
I was 4ID on that deployment (OEF X). I was in the same brigade but different battalion. I wasn’t at kamdesh but know a good many of the guys in 3/61 just from hanging around post (fort carson) and even went to osut at benning (basic/infantry school) with a lot of them. It’s a good movie I think it’s the most true to life replication of what deployment is like in Afghanistan I’ve ever seen in a movie and I don’t mean the fighting I just mean how it looks , how the infantry acts and all that . Probably bc some of them played themselves in the movie and helped in the production.

All the e4s and leaders had CIBs and Purple Hearts from op Restrepo, fire base Vegas, and the Korengal outpost. Lots of experience that they passed on to all the new guys to get us ready for the 2012 deployment back to Kunar province.
If you get hurt your team will be risking their lives to get you out. Mindset one injured soldier requires two or more soldiers to rescue you. Self preservation I say first.
I will never be able to explain how grateful I was able to live a peaceful life because of what these strangers to me have done that I didn’t have to do.
Nothing makes me see red more than when people use children as shields. Using the innocent to fight wars in general is bad but when children are used your showing true colors.

My jaw dropped. I couldn’t believe how almost exact this description was by this soldier too MrBallens description of Eframs event. I’m not saying this is not true, for either side. It’s very possible they both experienced the same situation at different times. What I don’t get is how this soldier spoke on his experience and didn’t think “plagiarism” would go unnoticed. I have to believe he’s not lying. The backlash if he was would be devastating!!! So I believe his experience happened. I just find it hard to swallow given his almost exact description of how it happened. I think this was a reoccurring event the rear dealt with but Damm! MrBallan said it the best. This soldier caught that story and unfortunately didn’t know how else to say his story. After typing all that I just said, I think that’s what happened here. What a clash of truth vs’ truth. Now it’s who said it best.
