This is wonderful! I'm so glad to have found someone who's honest about the pet pig industry. I've loved pigs my whole life, but I'm not in the market for one now. However I love animals so much that I'm constantly doing research and gathering information about them. I've always had questions related to "mini" pigs and you're answering them all! I will definitely be binge-watching your videos because I love learning more about pigs.
You are so stunning, I had a problem on getting a piggy, I never knew how big they would grow but now that I have my piggy I honestly wouldn’t care how big he grows , I love him no matter what ❤️
That is absolutely the way all pig owners should feel going into it. The size of the pig doesn't change your love for them, or their ability to love you in return. While I do understand that some people simply cannot accommodate a pig that reaches huge proportions, I see some that absolutely could still provide a great home for a big pig but simply lose interest once they get "too big".
Thank you so so so so much for this video! Tomorrow I am for sure showing this to my dad! Also I think I am actually kinda close for him to be ok with having a pig! My birthday is coming up soon so fingers cross! :)
Olivia Lopes Yeah! Her name is Penelope and she is so cute and so silly! If you have Instagram you can follow her @princess_piggy_penelope! You don’t have to but maybe just check her out!❤️
I am very happy to see this information posted. 😁I did extensive research and my boys are about 8 pounds at 7 months old. They were both socialized and pine litter trained when I got them. So important!! Especially if they will mainly be inside. I am member of forums in which many people are trying to rehome pigs that are too large for their home. 😔 Makes me so sad.
Sounds like you got them from a wonderful breeder!! These happy ending stories are few and far between so I always like to applaud both the breeders who are doing right by their pigs/customers and the owners who've done extensive research and supported a responsible breeder!
I am a proud pig mommy myself and and considering breeding my baby girl. Thank you so much for the video I now know what to look for!! You really helped! 🐽
I just adopted a 9 month old pig. And his previous owner didn't feed him enough. He's very malnourished. He's 12.5 lbs. He was scared of me at 1st but I got his trust within a couple days. I've watched so many of your videos. Thank you
This has definitely helped me with knowing how to avoid getting pigs that will grow bigger as I’ve always wanted one this was great advice thanks so much keep doing what your doing xx
My uncle actually have a pot belly pig. He is adorable! He lives out side with a custom house and pen for him, and loves his family. He use to live indoors until he got big. That’s actually got me inspired to get a mini potbelly or mini pig so yea.
I hope EVERYONE that is considering buying their own mini pig sees this video. The number if pigs that end up given up is staggering all because people don't do their research. Well it's like that with any animal really. Anyhoo listen to what Adri is telling you, she's rightand also do YOUR OWN research as well. That way you know exactly what you are getting into. Keep up the great work... love ya Adri!!!
I'm so happy to be able to spare people the heartache of getting scammed and ending up with a pig they can't take care of. There is SO much potential owners need to know before getting a pig and most breeders seem to either be to new to pigs themselves or doing so solely for the purpose of making money.
Oh I know, it's horrible and downright disgusting what some "breeders " will do to make money. Who cares about the animal or the heartache down the road. I wholeheartedly hope everyone gets to see your vids.
I'm so glad I came across her videos I'm not jumping the gun but wanna mini pig just doing research first scarey breeder who lie its sad for poor pigs when I lived in Conway I had a commercial pig my ex got me and he was great I loved him and u could def tell wasn't socialized I came home to a 3 wk pig in my house in a dog kennel and was so scared like wanted to attack but after lots of time and patience Wilbur was great pet was a big hog w tusks I said I wanted a pig just disnt mean a pig that's from a farm where there's 100s of them together was actually sad I cried bc I felt so bad for them but Anyhoo get off track thanks for all this info on minis u have have me more tips on what to look for when I start my search not like a local finding a dog breeder around harder to find honest good reputable pig breeder look forward to more videos
How do you now how old it is if your breeder/seller lies to you and you don't know? I'm so scared i'm going to get a pig that gets up to 100- 200 pounds..
Very helpful! My boyfriend and and are looking to get one. We've been doing a ton of research and looking at ways to get in touch with breaders but not sure how to go about it. What would be the best way to start the process of getting in touch with a broader?
I know the AMPA keeps a list of some breeders. You can find pigs for sale on several classified sites (Craigslist etc...) but I always suggest steering clear of any that don't have websites or Facebook pages. I prefer breeders with Facebook accounts that have testimonials from previous pig parents and hopefully years worth of content showing the pigs they've breed!
I would love if you did talk about the first bit! I'm very curious about rescues that are OK with animal breeding. I would think a passionate animal rescuer who is particularly fond of mini pigs would want to find homes for the existing ones not create more?
I'm not sure which part you want you would like more information on. I agree with you about the rescue vs breeder. That video was made over 3 years ago, before I started Wild Things Sanctuary, Inc...a nonprofit animal rescue. I do not breed pigs but do have pregnant females surrendered to me from time to time. Most times the person surrendering either doesn't know the pig is pregnant or chooses not to inform me...not that I would refuse it because of that. So from time to time I do have litters.
Certainly finding one that won't get to be 100's and 100's of pounds would be ideal, but I do so people with 200ish lb pigs inside :P They weight a lot but generally stay pretty compact!
Hi Adri, I have two new piglets 3 months old, and they are great! One is so calm and sweet, and her brother is a bit more curious and a busy body but really sweet too. Two questions... how can I keep him entertained without food?? I tried newspaper which he loves, but he eats it so I can't do that..I just worry like he will start chewing things as he is always walking around and getting into things, and our cold winter is coming so he won't get the hours outside like now...and second, I want to start teaching them tricks but is is almost impossible when they are together, and I am not able to separate them, even I they see each other or they panic...will this get better in time or do you have any tips? Thanks!
I'm definitely planning on doing a video all about great toys and activities for pigs! It's so important to keep them entertained. Most of the day they're happy to be lazy and nap, but when they want to be busy they'll get into mischief if there isn't any other option! I've not often raised sibling pigs together...and I have heard it pretty much means you have to accept they will always want to be together. I normally have one for a few months at least before introducing another, and I make sure i've really bonded with them before introducing them to each other. Having a pig sibling is really great for a pig though since they're so social!
What if you feed your pig just pure greens and carrots mostly with Mazuri for the most part? I’ll be glad to give it other food as well I would never keep a pig starving. But I think people who don’t realize it’s also important to see what u feed a pig
I totally agree. My pigs get a lot of vegetables and they also spend their days outside rooting in the yard. I feed the Sharps pig food as I have found that to have the most basic ingredients yet still provide the nutrients they need.
So I found some mini potbelly pigs and the lady said they are only 3 days old but the mom was hurting and wont nurse them so they have been bottle feeding and said I could get the pig now and bottle feed him myself. What do you think? I am paying $200 for this pig so I want to know what I'm getting
I would STRONGLY advise against it. Perhaps their story is true, but it’s also one of the top scams by dishonest pig breeeders. They claim the mom is feeding/died/whatever excuse to sell the babies faster, not have to deal with them as long, and breed mom again right away. Piglets that are separated from mom younger than at LEAST 5 weeks of age have very slim odds of survival. If they do make it they tend to have more health problems all throughout “childhood” (piglethood?). Not to mention they’re a huge commitment to feed and monitor around the clock until they’re about 3 weeks old.
Quick question I have two dogs a small one and a large one plus a five year old (who wont be much of an issue) but would it be alright if I still got a small pig from the size of 70-80 ish maybe 100 pounds or would it put them and the dogs in danger the small dog is a pitbull Chihuahua mix and for the big one a blood hound
The size and breed of the dog isn't really what determines if they'll do well with a pig. It's their training, personalities and hunting drive. Pigs can definitely be viewed as prey animals by many dogs so knowing your dogs tendencies is what's important!
@@AdriRachelle of course! Hes a really sweet dog and loves everyone and are other dog but he did hunt the chickens I had ( so I moved them into a bigger pen) so I'm not so sure I'll do some more researching thank you so much!
I have 2 female, 6 month old potbelly pigs that I rescued. They were not socialized. The only human interaction was when the owner would toss corn feed to them once a day. I have gotten them to eat a few treats from my hand which gave me the opportunity to rub their nose. However, this is the only touching they will allow. My 9 year old son and I will sit in their pen with them to try to socialize them. Is there still time to work with these 2 girls?
You are amazing for rescuing. It's such a challenging, slow process, but with their intelligence you absolutely CAN turn them around. Just keep in mind, it took 6 months for them to learn to behave how they do currently, so it may take just as long for them to change!
Can you do a video about what you should do for having a pig living in your house? We help take care of about 13-20 pigs once a week, (feeding, petting, treating, etc.) but I know that there is a lot of questions about how to get your actual house ready and I would like to know your tips and tricks as well. I know some people go so far as letting their pig sleep with them, what do you recommend? If this is too much to answer in a video I don’t mind you putting it in ;) or just answering it through the comments.
I have had a few people request a more comprehensive video than my current "meet my new pig/what you need" so I do think I'll thoroughly cover what you should know when you first bring home your pig. That being said, there isn't much pig-proofing I do. Mine have never been chewers, like a puppy would be. The most important thing is to not just give them free roam of the house immediately. Keep them contained when you aren't watching them! Mine sleep in my bed and basically own the house :P
Adri Rachelle Thank you so much! That really helps and what you said about what your pigs do makes sense. I subscribed yesterday because I love your videos and I’m obsessed with pigs. Keep up the good work because it’s working on me 😂💘
The majority definitely do, it's the defining characteristic of the breed. Having said that, the breeds are all so mixed up at this point a pig could be nearly full Juliana but still end up a different color
I am thinking about getting a mini pig. There's one thing about the certain pigs I have been interested in. They are around three weeks old and need to be bottle fed. The good thing about these pigs though are that they are in my price range and I don't have to go far to get them. What do I do????
Avoid this at all costs. As my video states, it's a common lie breeders tell to get rid of pigs sooner/make their money ASAP. Even if that is not the case in this situation, keeping piglets alive when they are off Mom's milk prior to at least 5 weeks old is very challenging. Those that do survive tend to have more health concerns the first few months of life. Unless the breeder is giving you this piglet for free, with no risk involved on your end (other than potential heartbreak) I would advice finding a more reputable breeder that would not DREAM of putting an owner, or a piglet, in that situation.
The range is huge...I've seen anywhere from $25 to $3,000. It mostly depends on the breeders reputation. Those that are very well known and have been breeding for years charge thousands and keep a full waiting list. However, a more expensive pig doesn't equal a smaller pig in most cases. My first pig was $25 at a flea market. He wasn't socialized and had terrible mange BUT, he grew up to be legitimate mini pig.
Could you do a video where we get to know some random facts about you? You're videos are so enjoyable and Informative and I want to know a bit about this well Informed person behind the camera! 😄
Hello, I was surprised with a piglet. I don't know his history and I just found out he is about 3 weeks old. The person that gave this pig to me said he has not been able to get a hold of the seller. His features are very much similar to a pot belly. I have researched on pot belly piglets since and I have been able to pan feed him using one part goat milk, one part water, an egg yolk and one teaspoon of coconut oil per 8 oz of the milk and water mixture. I just started adding a little baby cereal in the mix too. I feed him as often as he lets me know. I give him about one fluid ounce of the mixture with very little baby cereal every time I feed him. Sometimes he eats it all and some times he does not. He is really smart and knows how to use his litter box and wake me up! The trouble I think I'm going to have is with socializing the piglet. He is smart and knows how to get me to do what he wants. According to research I know that this will later be a problem as pigs can become manipulative and aggressive which can be dangerous once they get big! He does not yet trust me to give me his belly to rub or anything like that. I am giving him his time but I also don't want to make mistakes on raising the piglet to take advantage. He is already starting to root on me and bite me. I cannot tell if it's playful or if he is asserting dominance over me. I do have toys and a rooting box that I redirect him to when he starts to nibble or root at me. I feel like he's progressing but I just feel like I need to set a schedule with him as I've read that pigs are a creature of habit. So in that, I have a question on how much to feed him and how often that way I can make a feeding schedule and put more consistency in his life. A lot of tactics say to use "Move the Pig" when the pig started showing signs of aggression or dominance assertion but I don't wanna scare him because he does not trust me yet! Please, help me!
It definitely sounds like you've done a ton of research already - that's fantastic! I always try to discourage taking on piglets under 6 weeks of age because it's very challenging to keep them healthy...and many pass away. However, I've had luck using goats milk, water and rice cereal from a pan. I give coconut oil, but not until they're a few months old generally. I haven't tried egg yolk before with piglets but it sounds like you got your information from another credible source so it may very well be a good idea! At 3 weeks old you can start going several hours between feedings. Normally around 4ish hours and perhaps even longer throughout the night. Just be sure to always keep water accessible. They'll let you know if they want a meal sooner :P I never mind gentle nibbles or rooting at this age since it mimics what they would do with Mom. If the bites ever get painful a snout tap in response is acceptable coupled by a stern "no". The only other means of discipline I use are foot stomping, water spray or timeouts. The isolation of a time out is really best used if the piglet ever does seem to be getting dominate/moody. They're social creatures and will connect the dots quickly. Just always remember you ARE in control. I've had some bad reviews on the move the pig method, as you start to present yourself as a challenge to them and are almost instigating problems where there weren't any. I do understand where it comes from, as it's similar to how pigs communicate with one another. But, pigs are also always fighting in subtle ways with one another to be the dominate one... If you want to carry your pig around, don't let any of his reactions deter you. If he needs to be relocated to another room, off furniture etc... use a command word consistently and physically move him. Don't let dominance even be a question. Mine absolutely all know that what I say goes, but also love me enough that they are perfectly okay obeying me as they love the reward of cuddles and time spent with me. It's finding that perfect balance that's crucial!
That would be a very arduous and quite possibly deadly flight for a baby pig. It would be best if you found one there. I would love to go to New Zealand though. On my bucket list.
It's very hard to say. I've seen them for free all the way up to 5 thousand! Just keep in mind, I don't think price really determines anything. It certainly doesn't mean your pig will be smaller because you paid more. The most important thing is making sure theyre well loved and socialized!
This video helped me SO much I’m getting a mini pig we I found two places to get a pig but I think that after watching this video I think one of the places the pigs will get big like regular pig. Thank you for making this video
Absolutely, without a doubt, go and see the pigs. I discuss that and the other super important things to look for in this video. If you’ve seen the adults, you know for sure the parents are over 5 yrs old, that the piglet is at least 6 weeks before it leaves, and they’ve ideally been breeding for years, you’re off to a good start!
Thanks so much I have been watching your videos to try and convince my dad to buy me a mini pet pig since I can’t get another dog and now I have many reasons to buy one and be prepared
Thank you so much this helped a lot! We were looking to considering a mini/teacup pig Andrew it is suprisingly very hard to find a good breeder that has a decent price and decent sized pigs!!!😒☹️🙁😋
The spots are definitely the #1 character trait associated with Julianas. I can nearly promise it isn't full Juliana. However, most smaller pigs aren't any defined breed at this point.
Adri Rachelle that's what I thought he is an amazing little pig his mom was full grown and about as big as a bassit hound. either way he will be a loved indoor pig. he's solid pink with little ears and a smooshed snout
90% of my personal pigs were rescues. A few were piglets born here. I don't have a specific breeder that I recommend because I highly encourage people to find local breeders that allow them to visit their farm and see their adult pigs for a size reference!
I cannot speak to what the size or cost of a piglet that you might get may be.There is a great range in price depending on the location and the breeder. The video talks about how to get a relatively fair idea of what the size might be but it is by no means a hard and fast rule. And there is always the human factor...over feeding.
I know alot of people brought mini pig which have a strange color and hair texture, these pigs are super expensive almost 1800~ 3500$ , and turned out to be a giant pig. because the breeders wanted to get beautiful strange-looking pigs than other breeders so they take kune kune pig (long hair pig) which have many colors. for example, ginger with black spot, white, ecru to mate with mangalitsa pig (pig with wool hair like a sheep) and then breed again with potbelly pig or juliana pig, but trouble is both kune kune and mangalitsa are big pig. so the offsprings in some generation could have turned out to be big pig like kune kune and mangalitsa. we should stick to the purebred juliana pig because they are the only true mini pig. or go for the pot belly pig which is a medium-size pig. i brought my juliana pig very very cheap price, but she is super small, she is almost one year now and still smaller than an american cocker spaniel dog. but fat like a ball because she like asking for food all time. and I like she is fat, small and short looks cute to me.
I knew exactly which breed you were referring to before you said it! I adore Kune Kunes. They are adorable and are reported to have fantastic personalities. BUT, I keep seeing them categorized as "mini" by breeders and it makes me furious. They are not of a size that most people could keep them in their homes, or even apartments, like some of the buyers intend to do. They are closer to a potbelly than a mini. There's even the new term, "kunini", meant to describe a kune mixed with a mini pig...which still has every potential to be over 100lbs. Side note, a Mangalitsa is my DREAM pig...but as an outdoor pet only :P
shams of jannah Where did you purchase your pig? I would really, really love to know as I am looking for one that stays nice and small like that, and is affordable. 😀😀
I live in Portugal. I brought my pig from a farm here via portuguese site olx. mini pigs in portugal are not expensive at all. I also have seen mangalitsa pigs as well as potbelly pigs sale here. last time I saw also juliana pig with pure white color and black party spots.
It's so hard to say. Price never determines if it's a legitimate mini pig. My smallest pig to date I got for $25 (at 5 years old, mean as could be and pregnant 😕)
Congrats on your future baby! If you're wanting to know what supplies etc... you should have to prepare I cover that a little in some of my other videos :) A small pen, potty pads, pureed veggies, baby rice cereal or mini pig pellets, lots of warm blankets, a kangaroo pouch hoodie etc...!
Normally the questions is, "does the lab get along with pigs?". I've never had a pig show aggression towards a dog and if they're raised around them they quickly get over any fear. However, I know some dogs see them as prey or fun squeaky toys to chase!
I had a mini pig but we got extremely busy with rodeo I have stop rodeo but no longer have the pig because of that, I’m looking into getting another but it’s definitely gonna take some time to find a reputable breeder.
Thank you for sharing this information. I have a “squishy-nosed” hunka Chunka burning love 10 year old potbelly piggy 😂🐷 that i wouldn’t trade for the world. I bought him from a scammer breeder as well. He was going to be a “mini teacup” pig. Lmao It’s awful how many homeless pigs there are due to greedy sellers. Just found your channel on my recommended. Are you a piggy breeder or just a pet lover like myself? Your bird is so beautiful. My mini macaw likes to tease my pig and he cries like a big baby about it. 🐷🤦♀️🐦
I am always overjoyed to meet owners who unconditionally love their pigs. I know it isn’t easy when they surpass the size expectations, but it’s so rewarding! Thank you for loving him! I’ve raised piglets here the past few years but 90% of my own are rescues. My birds love to watch the pigs! They’ll throw their food down to bring them over to their cages. One will even ride on the back of them 😂
Do you let people other people adopt your pigs? I know this question is probably stupid its just that I feel very nervous about finding a very proper breeder and I know that you treat your pigs like if you were to have and children and I would feel very comfortable eventually getting a pig of my own from you.
I do! Of course, it's selective and after ensuring prospective parents are fully prepared and have realistic expectations for their new pig :) The adults have a small re-homing fee (to avoid them being dinner) and they are only advised for homes with outdoor areas setup since they aren't house trained or overly socialized. If I have piglets come available they are sent to a waiting list! You can feel free to message me on IG or Twitter!
Thanks you! I love your videos and the fact that you love to rescue! I have 10 pets including 1 bird, a cockatiel, but I love Ralph. He has so much personality!
In a few years me and hubby wanna get two females and I would really love to get them from u I love all ur videos and I know I would be getting a good piggy from u.
Mini pigs become rescue pigs when they grow to normal size...an old Con that is dying out..I raise pure Kunekune, certainly small but mini is not seen..help stop the suffering, so many fall for this fraud.
My breeder was very honest showed me the mom (about 2-3yrs) with the baby's a few weeks before they were ready to come home. She looked to be about 80ish lbs after having two litters. And with Julianne's that seemed ok to me. She was definitely not in it for the money. She gave them there beginning shots and that was it. Didn't fix them, even gave people the opportunity to buy males and females to breed them themselves. And only charged $175, not $2000. She only had to breeding pigs herself. My baby is now a year old and thanks to my husband over feeding her for the middle 6-7 months she is now 100 lbs. She was 120lbs but when I strictly changed her died she dropped. I really wish I could help her more because her fat has invaded he face and eyes. I also can't transport her she hates cars, and I don't know of any home vets around my area. I will try to send a pic. Pic in replys
Your breeder sounds absolutely awesome! The ones that genuinely love their pigs are few and far between so you're very lucky! Weight gain can happen SUPER fast (which is why they became such a huge meat source) but weight loss is loss and steady (I also just described myself, haha!). Be strict, try to get her to take regular walks, even just around the house! If you feed a pellet diet you can get a puppy IQ ball and put the food inside it, she'll be forced to roll it all around the house to get her meal - two birds/one stone. I'm glad you're making an effort and are knowledgeable enough about pigs to even recognize that that she has a few lbs to drop :) She looks like a sweet girl!
Adri Rachelle she is out side by her choice all day. She has a dog run. And is let out numerous times a day to grais and walk around my property (4 of my 10 acres) she don't like to be inside except in real bad weather. I will try the ball you suggested but with her I will probably use banana chips her favorite treats.
It is especially hard for me to maintain an ideal weight with my pigs that have more free range...they tend to do nothing but eat everything they can find all day 😂
Thanks for the video! I’m most likely going to get a mini pig soon, this video helped allot because I found a nice rescue near me and am working on getting in touch with them. I’ve only ever had a potbellied pig before that was basically a farm pig, so I want to make sure I make the right choice being inexperienced. Hopefully I can see if the rescue has a pig due for babies, if not I’ll most likely search for a breeder. I’d love to take in a piggy with a rough past, but I’d rather get as much experience possible before taking on that challenge.
I'm always so reluctant to tell someone to NOT rescue an animal. Clearly, I've never been able to decline one. But...I also think well-meaning individuals are being setup for failure to some extent by taking in a rescued pig without fully knowing what they're getting into. This just results in rescued pigs ending up back in rescues and even more traumatized. Rescued pigs can be so fantastic, but generally not until they've gotten a LOT of bad behavior trained out of them first. Of course, the younger they are the better your odds are and even a 6 month old pig has the potential to make a fairly quick turnaround.
Adri Rachelle thanks for the info. For my first pig I’ll most definitely get a young or non rescue pig. Hopefully someday I’ll be able to provide a great home for a pig that had a rough go. 😊 I live on a farm so room isn’t a issue lol.
I will stop eating anything to do with pigs because they are soo cute and pretyy and beautiful and thicc and perfectttt
I completely agree! I havent eaten any pork since I was about 11 years old.
Thanks so much Ardi for all you doing for the pig (and pig-loving) community!!! We are so grateful for you!!!❤️❤️🐷
This is wonderful!
Welcome! So happy you're here - you have wonderful animal videos also!
Adri Rachelle Thank you so much! Happy to meet more pet UA-camrs :)
Pig Lover did you get it??
LeftBehind well not for my birthday but in a month I get to bring her home she is the cutest little thing!
Pig Lover you got her?
Olivia Lopes Yeah! Her name is Penelope and she is so cute and so silly! If you have Instagram you can follow her @princess_piggy_penelope! You don’t have to but maybe just check her out!❤️
Pig Lover checked out your instagram she’s so cute! i’m getting a mini pig soon :)

Thanks for the info. Love your channel. Oh, that little tweetie bird is so cute!!

Thank you

Thank you for this info!
Thanks for sending me over to this video, Adri! 😊
What great information keep up the great work
How do you now how old it is if your breeder/seller lies to you and you don't know? I'm so scared i'm going to get a pig that gets up to 100- 200 pounds..
Thank you i needed this I was trying to find a video like this I subscribe and I might be getting a pig soon so i am trying to do some research
So glad you found it!
A very informative video for anyone interested in a little piggy. I am enjoying watching your previous videos
Do you still have litters and if so how would someone inquire about adopting one
What is the best type of pig for a indoor environment?
Certainly finding one that won't get to be 100's and 100's of pounds would be ideal, but I do so people with 200ish lb pigs inside :P They weight a lot but generally stay pretty compact!
Thanks!! This was so helpful. Love you and your videos! Your little farm is so cute
Thank YOU!
What about online? Because my parents aren’t able to go out a lot because they are busy also do you know any breeders that raise there pigs insides?
There are definitely pigs for sale online! I think most breeders now advertise online as well.
GREAT ADVICE!! 😉 I've Made A Playlist On You And Your Pig Tips! Congrats Your My Favorite UA-camr!!!👍 👏 Mind Blown 💣💥😲
Thank you!!! That's awesome :)
Very helpful info 😊 i got lucky and got my little p-chan from a flea market for only $45. The sellers were very nice and helpful 😁
That's very lucky!
This was very helpful thank youuuuu
Quick question I have two dogs a small one and a large one plus a five year old (who wont be much of an issue) but would it be alright if I still got a small pig from the size of 70-80 ish maybe 100 pounds or would it put them and the dogs in danger the small dog is a pitbull
Chihuahua mix and for the big one a blood hound
The size and breed of the dog isn't really what determines if they'll do well with a pig. It's their training, personalities and hunting drive. Pigs can definitely be viewed as prey animals by many dogs so knowing your dogs tendencies is what's important!
@@AdriRachelle of course! Hes a really sweet dog and loves everyone and are other dog but he did hunt the chickens I had ( so I moved them into a bigger pen) so I'm not so sure I'll do some more researching thank you so much!
How much times a day do u feed ur pigs?
On average they get at least 3 feedings! I have a video all about their diet!
I am thinking of adopting a pig so this video is very helpful keep it up!!
I believe that the American Mini Pig Association has a feature that allows you to find pig breeders in your area.
Keep up the good work because it’s working on me 😂💘
This is excellent
Thank you for sharing
Could you do video all about your different pigs and there personalities xx
Do Juliana mini pigs have to have spots or do some not?
The majority definitely do, it's the defining characteristic of the breed. Having said that, the breeds are all so mixed up at this point a pig could be nearly full Juliana but still end up a different color
I am thinking about getting a mini pig. There's one thing about the certain pigs I have been interested in. They are around three weeks old and need to be bottle fed. The good thing about these pigs though are that they are in my price range and I don't have to go far to get them. What do I do????
Should I wait a few weeks when they don't need to be bottle fed or find another pig or buy the piglet now
Avoid this at all costs. Unless the breeder is giving you this piglet for free, with no risk involved on your end (other than potential heartbreak) I would advice finding a more reputable breeder that would not DREAM of putting an owner, or a piglet, in that situation.
advise* :P
+Adri Rachelle thank you! Also what is the normal price for a mini pig?
The range is huge...I've seen anywhere from $25 to $3,000. It mostly depends on the breeders reputation. Those that are very well known and have been breeding for years charge thousands and keep a full waiting list. However, a more expensive pig doesn't equal a smaller pig in most cases. My first pig was $25 at a flea market. He wasn't socialized and had terrible mange BUT, he grew up to be legitimate mini pig.
Where do you mostly buy your piglets? Any certain websites?
90% of them were rescued as feral adults. The young ones I’ve raised were all born here.
Could you do a video where we get to know some random facts about you? You're videos are so enjoyable and Informative and I want to know a bit about this well Informed person behind the camera! 😄
I certainly will do a Q&A, of sorts, soon!
They'll let you know if they want a meal sooner :P
I never mind gentle nibbles or rooting at this age since it mimics what they would do with Mom.
Adri Rachelle thank you so much! This helps me a lot! I appreciate the time you took to answer my lengthy comment!
Of course! I'm always happy share any advice I have with other pig owners!
I really want a mini pig and I am thinking about getting one wondering if it’s possible you can send one to new Zeland?
That would be a very arduous and quite possibly deadly flight for a baby pig. It would be best if you found one there. I would love to go to New Zealand though. On my bucket list.
I have one question from this video: What is a reasonable price for a real mini pig? but apart from that, I found this vedio really helpful, thanks!
It's very hard to say. I've seen them for free all the way up to 5 thousand! Just keep in mind, I don't think price really determines anything. It certainly doesn't mean your pig will be smaller because you paid more. The most important thing is making sure theyre well loved and socialized!
Great information! Thanks so much!
This video helped me SO much I’m getting a mini pig we I found two places to get a pig but I think that after watching this video I think one of the places the pigs will get big like regular pig. Thank you for making this video
I'm so glad I could help! Congrats on your future piggy!
I'm in contact with a breeder and I was wondering if you had any questions I should ask her before I make a deal with her to buy a pig from her
Absolutely, without a doubt, go and see the pigs.
I never was able to convince my parents :P So I just got them all once I had my own house!
That was really good information! Thank you so much!
So glad I can share it!
Where do I get a pig
Thank you so much this helped a lot! We were looking to considering a mini/teacup pig Andrew it is suprisingly very hard to find a good breeder that has a decent price and decent sized pigs!!!😒☹️🙁😋
It IS hard, I couldn't agree more. Don't rush into it, it's worth the effort and time to find a great one!!
my mini pig was. sold as a Juliana but has no spots is that possible?
The spots are definitely the #1 character trait associated with Julianas. I can nearly promise it isn't full Juliana. However, most smaller pigs aren't any defined breed at this point.
Adri Rachelle that's what I thought he is an amazing little pig his mom was full grown and about as big as a bassit hound. either way he will be a loved indoor pig. he's solid pink with little ears and a smooshed snout
Julianas are the smallest common mini pig! 🐷🐽 they're between 40-80 pounds!
Do pigs have sensitive respiratory systems?
Where do you get your mini pigs from?
All over! Most of them I found as adults in neighboring states.
Thanks
Would I be able to buy one by December
What is the breeder you go to? Or do you breed your own pigs? If you do, do you recommend any breeders?
90% of my personal pigs were rescues. A few were piglets born here. I don't have a specific breeder that I recommend because I highly encourage people to find local breeders that allow them to visit their farm and see their adult pigs for a size reference!
About much do PIGGLET mini
Full grown pounds?
Female cost?
As my emotional support pet in house with me.
Please respond back
I cannot speak to what the size or cost of a piglet that you might get may be.There is a great range in price depending on the location and the breeder.
Adri Rachelle FYI if u ever are looking for mangalista/curly pigs Paradise Valley Farm/North GA Zoo (minilivestock.com) sells them. 😁🐷
I live in Portugal. I brought my pig from a farm here via portuguese site olx. mini pigs in portugal are not expensive at all. I also have seen mangalitsa pigs as well as potbelly pigs sale here. last time I saw also juliana pig with pure white color and black party spots.
shams of jannah thank you so much for the info.😁 HAGD
Love ya and your cuteeee pigggsss🐖🐖🐷🐷
😊❤
I live in Mexico and pigs are selling for aleast 150 dollars do you think it's a real TeaCup Pog
It's so hard to say. Price never determines if it's a legitimate mini pig. My smallest pig to date I got for $25 (at 5 years old, mean as could be and pregnant 😕)
Scarlett is so cute
im getting a Juliana Pig could you tell me what do you want in New Hampshire
Congrats on your future baby!
If you're wanting to know what supplies etc... you should have to prepare I cover that a little in some of my other videos :) A small pen, potty pads, pureed veggies, baby rice cereal or mini pig pellets, lots of warm blankets, a kangaroo pouch hoodie etc...!
Do you sell your pigs?
I really want a pig but do they get along with labs xx
Normally the questions is, "does the lab get along with pigs?". I've never had a pig show aggression towards a dog and if they're raised around them they quickly get over any fear. However, I know some dogs see them as prey or fun squeaky toys to chase!
I love pigs so much 💕💖❣️
All the best people do!
Adri Rachelle Can you do a pig diet or best essentials for pigs? 🐖💕💖
One of my next videos hopefully! I want to share all of the foods I like to give them
wants you put the bird on your hand i didn't know he was there
Please help me get 1 I live in kc m0 but in the county with a fence in yard
This only means I would like just 1 not 11 sorry
Definitely start by contacting your local government to make sure zoning laws permit them!
We plaY wow too lol while holding baby pig
Can I buy a pig how much
Breeders charge anywhere from $50-$3000 in my experience. When I have piglets born here I offer them to a select waiting list for $300-$500.
I had a mini pig but we got extremely busy with rodeo I have stop rodeo but no longer have the pig because of that, I’m looking into getting another but it’s definitely gonna take some time to find a reputable breeder.
Yup, just don't rush it and be sure you find the perfect one :)
One will even ride on the back of them 😂
Can you adopt a baby mini pig
Me personally? I try to rescue/rehome young piglets as often as I'm able...though I can't always take more in.
Love this showing my mom this video she's in the kinda place of getting me a pig!
Hopefully it helps!
@@AdriRachelle do pigs make good apartment pets ?
also please like my comment so i can get the notifcation
inoma probably not that’s why I’m waiting to move until I get a pig♥️💕
Ok! Thank you for replying!
What kind of bird us Ralph?
He is a Caique (Kai - Eek) parrot!
Thanks you! I love your videos and the fact that you love to rescue! I have 10 pets including 1 bird, a cockatiel, but I love Ralph. He has so much personality!
Do you sell your baby pigs
Not often, but most years I've had a litter or two available to a waiting list!
Adri Rachelle ok thank you
Do you have a list of trustworthy mini breeders?😍
I don't :/
It my 13th b-day and my parents aloud me to get one I thought you were a very good breeder so I happened to ask
u are so amazing I've seen almost all of ur videos and I love pigs 🐽🐽🐷🐷🐖🐖
you've also convinced my grandma mabye get me one thank u
Thank you :))
In a few years me and hubby wanna get two females and I would really love to get them from u I love all ur videos and I know I would be getting a good piggy from u.
I love my Wilbur he is 1 year old and 3 months old
I normally end up with a litter or two each year, just depending on the rescues I take in!
I would love two get sisters from ya one day
Wish I could send you a picture to see if I got scamed.
I have a question, do you have to be vegan to own a mini pig🥺🥺🥺
No. Most pig owners are not vegan or even vegetarian. Just don't eat your pet!!!😉
I am hoping I can get a pig so thank you for this video
Sorry I don't have Twitter

It is especially hard for me to maintain an ideal weight with my pigs that have more free range...they tend to do nothing but eat everything they can find all day 😂
Can I buy a mini pig from you
I do usually have a litter or two each year available to a waiting list!
How do I get on the list
Adri Rachelle I would like to be on your waiting list .Im in California 2108546267 Thank U 🐖🐽How do I go about it? My name is Lauren
♡
I hope you love your husband more than the birds 😂👍
Hey arid rachelle can I give u my email??
Did you want to send me a message directly? I use Twitter and IG and you’re more than welcome to!
