I believe each expression has its own meaning. Therefore, you cant substitute one for another.
Example: if you tell someone "you are very beautiful" it's not the same as if you tell to someone else more beautiful "you are gorgeous ".

I have yet another GCSE English Language Resit this morning. I'm an adult. I'm not ready at all. I'm sat up with undiagnosed illness & a lot of fear at 02:40am this Wednesday morning with no idea what to do. I read a lot but my skills have not improved/developed at all. Only a miracle can help me today. I've failed many times due to many life issues and also (I believe) unfair marking. My English is not even that bad but so far I've never passed any exams. I can't tell you how nervous, sick, angry, unprepared and depressed I feel about this paper 2. Paper 1 on Monday was beyond a tranwreck.I should be sleeping but I can't risk being late and I have to do last minute revision. Please pray for me, if you believe in God or would be so kind?

The first viewer to leave the comment gets a bunch of hearts, the early bird catches the worm, but... it's the second mouse that gets the cheese! I was late enough to get the message about the mishap during rendering.
I've been working on weak/strong adjectives for a few months now and my list of synonyms is growing - slowly but surely. Your video has added some great options. For instance - I wouldn't choose "irksome" as an alternative for "boring", but on second thoughts - yeah, "boring" is not always passive and when it's active, it's definitely "irksome".
    My English exercise:
waking up before 8 am = reasonably cruel; already working at 8 am = appallingly atrocious.
