    This is the easiest, quick and yummy eggless sponge cake recipe.

    Ingredients:
    100g (3⁄4 cup) caster or granulated sugar (White Sugar)
    220g (1 cup) plain yoghurt
    110g (½ cup) vegetable oil (I used canola)
    150g (1 ¼ cup) cake flour [if you do not have cake flour, you may use all-purpose flour + 2 tbsp of cornflour)
    ½ tsp baking soda
    1 tsp baking powder
    ½ tsp salt
    1 tsp vanilla extract

    I tried this recipe for my daughter who is seriously allergic to Dairy and Egg. I used coconut yoghurt and had a great result! I’d like to show you how the cake was wonderful. Always I have had a hard time to bake something for her birthday.... But not anymore. Thank you so much. This recipe is a saver for me.

      If you ever wanna try another recipe, you can change milk and yoghurt like items with vegan options and egg with flax egg (a mixture of flax seeds and water). My dad doesn't eat egg so this was really helpful to me

    I made this yesterday. Swapped the sugar with 1/2 cup honey. So moist and delicious! Best sponge cake without egg. Had to bake for 30 min though. Thanks ❤❤❤

    It turned out very good .In big oven in USA I baked at 350 degree for approx 22 min . It was very soft and light .Thanks dear 🤗🙌

    Trying this now, with a persimmon base/top for an upside down cake !
    Using plain flour and vanilla powder. ONE tin . 180C with fan. The batter seemed 'drier' than yours, but I have faith.
    Now I'm waiting 24 mins before I check the baking. I just checked, adding another 12 mins with FOIL on top (to prevent burning - looks LOVELY and GOLDEN on top) because the batter is still 'wet' underneath. Can't wait !!! Smells GREAT !
    BUT it WASN'T coocked all the way at the bottom of the sponge - I discovered this AFTER cutting into it, SO I placed it back into the oven at 150C for 18 mins.....BACK in for another 20 mins ! :( So I just grabbed it out and scoffed most of it, even if there was a little undercooked in the middle.
    Next time I shall use a wider, more shallow pan - should turn out nice.
    Otherwise, this one tasted NICE!

      I am using kitchen aid stand mixer but you can use any hand mixer also. That’s works too.

    Can't we make it with all the batter in one pan? And if yes then what should be the tin size?

      Yea you can make the batter in one tin. Make sure you add wet ingredients and then fry ingredients. You can use 6inch or 7inch cake tin.

      Priyanka Sadhukhan - Hare krsna. For baking you have to use yogurt or condensed milk. You can’t use both. So every recipe is different. This recipe that I have shown uses curd. Please follow it exactly to get same results.

    For future me: (for 8 inch tin)
    Cream (electric mixer):
    1 cup sugar
    1+⅓ cup+½ tsp yogurt
    +
    ⅓+¼ cup+1 tbsp+2 tsp oil
    1+¼+1/16 tsp vanilla
    ¼+1/16 tsp salt
    + sift and fold
    1+½ cup apf
    2 tbsp+2 tsp cornflour
    1+¼+1/16 tsp baking powder
    ½+⅛+1/16 tsp baking soda

    In one google search for cake flour , For 1 cup (250ml) of maida it is said to replace 2TBsp of maida with corn starch. This 1 cup can be replaced with 1 cup APF/Maida.
    In this receipe it is said to add 2Tbsp of corn starch . Pl comment on this

    Hey can u tell while baking which rods did u heat? The uppper one or the lower one?

      You have to turn on both of them to bake the cake evenly.

      What was your temperature? You can keep it 170-180 degrees. Also it could be that your cake was too high and very near the rod. Pls avoid that. The cake should be in the Center of the even.

      I kept it in the center and firstly I prefer heated the oven on 180 degrees for 15 min and then I baked it at 150 degrees with both the rods on

    Hi, 1. need to preheat it right. How much time. I haven't seen or Did I miss that part.
    2. Can we use beater to mix the cake batter ( electronic one )
    And
    3.Can we make cake bases n store for later use, if yes how and where to store.

      - Geetha yes you need to preheat the oven for 10mins minimum.
      - yes you can use electronic beater.
      - yes you can store the cake base in a cling wrap nicely. If u’re using the same the then you can keep it outside in the cling wrap but if you want to use it the next day then keep it in the fridge.(inside the cling wrap)

      So I can prepare bases wrap it in cling wrap and can store it in fridge. Right. Will it be soft, how many days can we keep and use max. Days.

      @@geethagowthami3304 - preheat for atleast 10-15mins at 180 degrees.
      - yes it will still be soft. Just remember to keep it outside for half n hour before you want to use it.
      - For best taste of cake base try to use it within 2-3 days
