- Train to Fix Medical Equipment | Biomedical Equipment Technology
Biomedical Technicians are often overlooked in the healthcare field. As Regina says, someone needs to make sure that medical equipment not only works, but functions at its peak performance.
At Centura College, the Biomedical Equipment Technology program introduces students to a wide variety of skills including the install, testing and calibrating of medical equipment, repairing and replacing parts associated with medical equipment, and performing preventive maintenance and servicing medical equipment.
Coursework includes foundations in electronics, basic networking, biomedical instrumentation, basic anatomy and physiology, and biomedical troubleshooting and repair.

Yes, you just need to find a company or hospital that is willing to train you. Most biomed techs did not originally go to school for it (myself included).
