It's a very small detail. but the fact that Doc Lewis is with Mac in his winning animation is a very neat little detail that shows how much effort is going into making the characters feel like themselves.

Two things I hope returns.
1) Match replays. Maybe updated to a Smash Bros TV
2) An improved stage maker.
I like how now whenever a character grabs another one it's not like they're holding Air inbetween them
This video gave me hope, even though they released Pac-Man during E3, they didn't have him in the roster. This makes me think there are a lot more characters to come.
...It sounds like the results screen music is the character select music from the original Super Smash Bros.! Awesome!
There are STILL unannounced characters!? Please let one of them be Ganondorf. I know he sucked in Brawl but he's just so awesome! Don't give up on him!

There are so many characters I'd happily trade out for Wii Fitness Trainer. Also kinda bummed about Charizard; it's cool you can play just as him but I was always a big Squirtle fan.

I bet the beetle will be banned in tournaments. It's essentialy an inescapable death trap if it lands. It's potentialy better than a final smash if used correctly.

It can be dodged and the game is still in development so their might be away to escape it once your in it

He was one of the original four unlockable characters. If it's anything like Brawl, they'll wait until the very last second to talk about him, Captain Falcon and Jigglypuff. The only reason Luigi was shown so early was due to last year being the Year of Luigi.

I hope that Smash 4 has a replay feature like Mario Kart 8 with custom camera angles and such. It would be really fun to watch battles and use slow-mo like Mario kart 8.

They opted to use realistic sounds for all non-human speech using characters (aside from some Pokemon) since it better fits with the somewhat more 'real' style of the game and the face that it is a fighting game, so more 'fierce' sounds are a better fit..plus it keeps it more uniform with Melee and Brawl.
That's how he sounded in melee........
It's not like there was much voicing in Smash Bros. to begin with.

Kinda disappointed that they just used a voice clip from Sonic Generations for when Sonic turns into Super Sonic instead of getting Roger to record "Now I'll show you!" :/

Holy crap, I just noticed that. Like, Bowser has a rock version of the Mario theme.
That is friggin' neat. I hope that's the case with all the franchised characters.

I do like hearing that some characters have new voices.
Though I wish they ALL got rerecorded lines. Feels kinda strange seeing a Link that looks mostly Skyward Sword-ish, but has TP Link voice.
And hearing the same Marth lines for over 10 years.
I did notice that Pit, Fox, Kirby and Sonic had completely new voice samples.

Really wish Isaac from Golden Sun makes it in. Was really hoping he would get announced during E3, but there's still time.

Fox new voice is going to take time getting used too....personally his melee voice was my fav but I also loved his brawl/adv/assault voice, he sounds younger in this one & it just sounds off for him but i'll get used to it

The demo version for Wii U and for 3DS should be downloadable. For everyone who's Best Buy didn't have Smash Fest, did have Smash Fest but didn't know it was there, did went to Smash Fest but was still in line when it was over, or just for people who knew the Best Buy near them had Smash Fest, but didn't go because they knew it would've been a waste of time to only play once, or not at all.
Love the removal of edgehogging, encourages better edgeguarding
I'd be interested to see if there's any real difference between the GameCube controller and the Wii U Pro Controller when it comes to playing Smash.
Well, Smash is a special fighting game, so we use X/Y to jump. There are a rare minority that use up to jump. The GC controller's X button is right beside the A button, so it's a smooth transition from attack (A) to jump (X) to Special (B). On the Pro Controller, the X button is on the top of the A button, making it a bit more Uncomfortable to transition from X to A to B.
Basically, GC Controller transitions looks like a slightly diagonal line, while a Pro Controller would look like a greater than sign.
...Yeah, I know. I was referring to controller lag and button press time differences.

Then again I don't play competitively, and I don't know anyone who does.
I love how much detail they're and effort their putting into this game. Even on the character select screen when a character is selected the characters gets a little sparkle in their eye like the villager's announcement. This game, s'bootiful

I'm trying to figure out whether I should be playing brawl or project m to get ready for smash bros 4. I know it's different than both games but will playing a game that's faster (Project M) make it easier to play a game a little slower (smash 4) or will playing a slower game (Brawl) do anything to help me? I would play the one I like better but I really like them both a lot. Smash4 might favor defense like brawl though and just have overall gameplay closer to it which makes me want to play brawl but idk if playing a faster game will make you better at a slower game. Please help. Thanks

The Wii U version is gonna be so much better than the 3ds version! But the 3ds version will have to do until the Wii U either demo or full version comes out
Also, compared to any other Smash game, including the 3ds version, this game is beautiful! It is probably seriously going to be the best game ever! The fighting mechanics are top notch(way better than Brawl and Melee IMO), the graphics are amazing, music is great as always and the characters are so friggin great! The 3ds version is not as good as Brawl, but the Wii U version just looks way better than anything I have ever scene Smash related

I believe the cause of the game crashing is when Zero Suit Samus used her Side B at 28:36 . It looked like a glitch on how the move came out and the smoke effect afterward.
As a big fan of Kid Icarus Uprising, I am loving all of Pit's changes. His new specials, Antony del Rio as a VA, and tons of items and two assist trophies! They even added a sound to his rolls that's the exact same sound as his dodges in KI:U!

No. You can spam buttons to get out of it, and it's easier to get out at low percents.
Characters need to die a little earlier, it might just be the stage borders
That whole "code of honor" thing is basically how I try to play all PvP games, but I usually can't get other people to go along with it.
Nintendo, if you don't buy Capcom then i'll be very disappointed... The Wii U is in great need of third party support and this is a great opportunity to gain it.
I know they're showing off the game, but it's so frustrating how they aren't fighting seriously, even letting their characters sit there for a couple seconds.

You can't steal the edge if you're in free fall, so it's slightly different now. Basically you have to bait a recovery attack, or interrupt their double jumps.
Edge hogging has chances to be completely gone, but this way, people will fight more aggressively in the air, so their opponent won't get back up, instead of simply going on a ledge.

Yep. Edges can be taken by anyone, regardless if someone's on it.
Is that beetle thing instant kill?
Under an open sky, yes. BUT, you can reflect it with a strong attack if you have good timing.
Greninja seems alot like lucario was in brawl, except cooler. Even the finicky counter move is there.

is it me or is nintendo really fond of traveling stages on the 3ds and wiiu not that thats wrong i love them to but it just seems that there is a big amount of them from brawl or melee.
DK's Final Smash only sucked to those who used him online/don't have any rhythm.

This is gonna be a blast. Brawl was amazing for me- I don't care for the melee competitivity and whatever. Brawl is fun and this looks very fun aswell. May it be a "party game" but it's fun with friends so that's what really counts for me!

12:20 They are saying that this will make edge gaurding better? In all honesty all it does is make it easier for people to get back on the stage. This means that it might do the exact oposite . Of course it does look like it could set up some interesting turnarounds, like gimping the person whos trying to edge gaurd you. But I think its probably going to hurt edge gaurding as a whole. Only time can tell, though.

Edge-guarding in past Smash Bros. games was a satisfying, but cruel way to make sure people didn't make it back to the stage. In this new title, it seems like edge-guarding is being thrown to the wayside completely. I can only wonder how this will change in-game tactics.
Why was I recommended this in the year of our Lord 2023?
