I was thought put on/off your shoes as well completely fair! Even in British cartoons they use that!
It's correct, as well as "take off your shoes".
You're right! 👍😊Those phrases all relate to putting on and removing shoes, but they have slightly different meanings:
Slip on: Putting your feet into shoes without tying laces or fastening straps. These shoes are easy to slide your feet into because they have elastic or flexible openings.
Slip off: Taking off your shoes by simply sliding your feet out of them. These shoes are easy to remove without needing to untie laces or unbuckle straps.
Put on: A general term for wearing shoes. It can include tying laces, buckling straps, or simply sliding them on.
Take off: Removing your shoes. It's the opposite of putting them on and can involve untying laces, unbuckling straps, or simply slipping them off.
So, "Slip on" and "slip off" mean easy shoe wear and removal without fastening. "Put on" and "take off" are general terms for all shoe actions. "Put off" isn't commonly used in the context of wearing shoes.
@@English-Wise thanks for explanation
