“I believe in individualized sentencing, I follow the constitution, and I believe our system works. I also believe … these survivors.” Judge Rosemarie Aqualina is my hero. ❤️
Seeing the empathy and hurt across the faces of all those big, strong athletes in the audience is so moving. They may be powerful and enormous and strong, but they're human like the rest of us. Aly Raisman is the reason I spoke about my abuse, and seeing the support and love in that audience is amazing. Athletes are people and, if you look down deep, I think you'll see that they're especially vulnerable.
I feel like the unbelievable magnitude of their story really only set in when I saw girl after girl walk on stage in a line with no end in sight. It seemed to go on forever and it felt like the stage might not even hold them all, but I’m so glad they did it like this because it forces the audience and viewers at home to come face to face with just how many women were abused. Instead of just hearing the number of victims with no visual representation of how large a group of 2-300 women actually is and what it really looks like. It also made it personal, even more than it already was, putting faces to the names of the survivors and telling their individual stories so we don’t just see them as victims, but rather survivors who went through something absolutely horrible but made it out on the other side without compromising who they are. I’ve never been so proud of people I don’t know haha 🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️😍 Also, Jennifer Garner was a perfect choice for this, she was amazing and you could feel how much she genuinely cares. This isn’t an easy topic or story to write an award show speech about but I thought she handled it with poise and compassion.
ONE MAN. THREE HUNDRED VICTIMS&probably more. Manipulated, forced to stay silent & all because no one believed them. TURNED INTO STRONG SURVIVORS. because one person FINALLY heard them. wow. we will never truly fully understand the years of trauma, anxiety, depression , lost & etc. that these women went through in the hands of a vile monster. every story of each person was just as heartbreaking as the one before & after.
His victim total is over 500 now, in 2023 - that's ASTOUNDING. He saw so many athletes and to think how many of them would have never met him if they'd taken action back when the first victim spoke up.
I followed this story for as long as it was on. Still follow the aftermath now. I watched the trial testimonies. But it wasn’t til this moment seeing not all of the victims but seeing all Of the women up there there the magnitude of it all hit me. Seeing the mass of them and realizing had just one person from back then listened or did something most if not all of those amazing woman would not be standing there. The sheer power of this moment is amazingly heart breaking and overwhelming. I am so damn proud of those woman.
Dear Karolyis, no matter how good ur techniques, how many awards u both have....its still not worth a thing when you were apathetic to such evil going on under your supervision!!!
This is exactly what we still need an investigation. We need to know who knew and who didn't. Therefore those who knew are held accountable and who didn't lives aren't ruined. Its amazing that only Maggie's coach did the right thing here.
Kerri Strug? I don’t believe she’s come out as one of his victims. That photo is from her 1996 moment when they made her compete on an injured ankle for the team medal
@@Nairah912 She might be, but just doesn't want to. Her medal winning vault already has enough scrutiny around it, I can't imagine that Larry being one of the first ones to touch her, that he didn't do anything to her at any point. We already know that the athletes were performing with broken bones, fractures and injuries that they shouldn't have been.
0:17, 0:18, 0:19! THE ONLY REASON WHY ACTRESS KATE BECKINSALE CHOSE TO ATTEND THE ARTHUR ASHE AWARD FOR COURAGE IS BECAUSE SHE HAS A LONG LOST DAUGHTER NAME LILLY MO SHEEN AFTER KATE FINISH GETTING HERSELF PREGNANT BY MALE ACTOR MICHAEL SHEEN IN 1998 BECAUSE LILLY MO SHEEN BECAME BORN ON JANUARY 31, 1999!
I applaud the parents for having the strength not to do anything but stand by their sides. I on the other hand would probably in jail for doing to him what he so richly deserves. Heard today he was stabbed in prison. Lucky him that's all it was.
If you go look up the sentencing videos, one of the dad's tries during the victim statements after he hears his daughter testify and he felt terrible that he didn't do anything when it happened, but he tried to go after Nassar. Because he threatened Larry in court in front of officials - they had to automatically press charges - but the judge who got his case dismissed it.
Nassar stopped this while Nastia was around because he knew she'd go straight to Valeri. Notice how nobody from 04 or 08 have come out? Then as soon as Nastia retired he started again? Because he knew while Valeri was around he would have gotten caught.
I hear you, i was sexual abused, from birth to 13, by 2 family members I reported it at 13. It shattered my soul, heart, and trust Their are so many predators, if you see something report it , if there is nothing happening no harm done, but if there is something happening you just saved a child. I did speaking engagements for years, Im saying this to save a life
Seeing them all on stage is overwhelming
And knowing that that's not even half of them
I’ve gotten so many chills from seeing all of them up there
These women were so brave to tell their story and be a voice and I love that they are calling themselves survivors, not victims. Great job ladies!
Ally needs to be on the new USGA board of directors!
YEESSS!
I AGREE SO SHOULD JORDYN WIEBER, SHAWN JOHNSON, EVEN NASTIA LIUKIN, SHANNON MILLER!!!!
I agree. For the USGA to move forward. It needs people like Ally on it and other survivors on it. To set up a new code of ethics

And also in honor of those who didn't survive this tragedy 💞
The stage kept filling, and filling, - heartbreaking.

Thanks very much for speak out and let us know we can not surrender and that we have a value greater than the world made us to think of
I woder how many celebrity sexual predators were in the audience?
Exactly my thought. They are everywhere.
Nice
...
Probably quite a few because colleges protect their star athletes
Tons unfortunately
Completely in tears.
When Aly states all the years that he was reported - that was sickening. It could have been stopped SO EARLY.
Strongest army I’ve ever seen
These are beautiful and inspiring women. I’m in tears.
Seriously the judge is my hero
I'm British and I hear you
Tears of joy!!! Super classy girls!!!! All I can say, is that every day he spends in prison will be a living hell!!!!!
Give shout out to the Judge Rosemarie Aqualina, who give
These Women and Girls Justice.
I wish the best for the Survivors.

That photo at 2:35. I can only imagine what that gymnast was thinking in that photo. I wonder if she’s one of his many victims. Creepy.

Yes He’s in prison for life. 😁
175 years
Hopefully he's getting his own type of abuse
@@az7726 what happened??
@@az7726 If not, maybe we should break in and give it to him
That song was as haunting as the endless amount of woman who walked up to that stage.
I can’t believe this happened.
Where were the adults??!!
What are the names of the people they show here? Besides: Aly (Alexandra) Raisman, Jordyn Wieber, Kate Beckinsale, and David Harbour.

Where is Simone?
Jennifer Garner looks like she put on a ton of muscle
i think she did. she was in a role for the movie Peppermint that she got super ripped for
Only 28k views?
Wait! Be patient 😉
13:51 is that Nastia?
