Lol if the conversation involves Ketel Marte then sure.... why not. You know we are in our own push for the postseason now right? We aren't giving up a stud closer for prospects.
We did give them a stud third baseman for two DFA candidates though. Other teams expect us to dump good players on them, it's what the Mariners organization is.
Neither of us said this trade was likely. We agreed that it was not. Secondly, we did not at all suggest that the deal would be for prospects. Both teams are clearly in win-now mode.
Guys, _at least_ wait until Jerry Dipoto's annual trade deadline closer sale before placing an order! 😂 In all serious, Dipoto's latest dumpster dives haven't yielded as many salvageable relivers as they used to, so he'll value Munoz even more than usual. Best bet is Dipoto's next sale will exclusively feature damaged goods as we continue to grind our bullpen into dust so that 4/5 of our stellar rotation can stay under its 85 pitch count.
"Heres why the Mariners would consider it" in the title, as they fail to explain why the Mariners would consider it. Pavin Smith is not a fit. He would fill the same role as Luke Raley and Dom Canzone. The Diamondbacks aren't going to trade Ketel, and Geno alone isn't enough to part with Munoz. The Diamondbacks dont have the pieces the Mariners would need to make it work.

Just wait until our (Mariners) starting pitchers get expensive. The fanbase is set for a meltdown if a Munoz trade is shocking them now.
