Cal certainly spoke up for Turner at the end of last season. I think Justin had a big influence in the clubhouse and the players really liked his presence. Of course money is everything to the M's, so yeah, like Colby said, the cheapest offer accepted will probably be the biggest factor.
I always thought that if the M’s actually went out and got a real 3rd baseman… which I feel like is unlikely…. then they would just move Rojas to 2nd. We can’t possibly rely on this organization to upgrade 2 positions in one offseason?
Yes, agents work for players, but they choose their agent because they trust their advice so to say that it means nothing that Scott Boras typically advising his clients to wait for free agency is simply not true. Does it mean that’s certain? Of course not. But it is a trend worth noting.
Team Turner all day. His clubhouse leadership and the fact that fan bases adore him on and off the field everywhere he goes speak volumes about his character, making him an excellent choice for any organization.
Have you guys watched The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox? One key change made it possible for them to win the world series - New ownership willing to SPEND! They never would have won it, without dumping big money.
I would rather have Turner over Santana because every time I watch teams late in October baseball, they don’t have 4+ guys hitting below .220 like the Mariners did this year! Give me an EVERY DAY BAT! That being said…I love Santana! Great show!
If Santana can’t hit rhp, what about Joc Peterson. Garver essentially becomes platoon partner, tho Cal should dh those days for 1/2 a rest. Might mean Locklear sticks to platoon w Raley at 1b. I also think they will unveil Garver at 1b some next season. Wasn’t he working w Hill during season there? I bet Shenton gets a shot at 3b if no other trade. Can samad Taylor hit at all. I think he or bliss gets a pr-utility spot
Carlos Santana hit .238 last year and turns 39 this season. THAT excites our front office? Did they forget he hit under .200 for us in 2022 at age 36????? HE PROVED HE CANT HIT HERE. And now he is older...... does our FO not realize he more than likely will hit less than .200 than over? What are they thinking?
The argument that Turner’s bat speed has already declined and he’s successfully adjusted so might be the safer bet going forward is compelling. I was leaning Santana before that.
The more I hear about money and all that it makes me really think that they might sing Kim from the kbo with his contract theoretically being relatively cheap something they might really look to do
It's also a risk to assume you can get that same performance out of Voth. Dumping Rojas bugs me. Somehow I feel like he's a good hitter, in spite of the evidence that he is not. But they really need to. He's probably a $4 mil anchor.
Trade for a guy like Wilmer Flores. Cheaper contract (an expiring $3.5 million) than you would pay for either one of these two and a guy who will offer you the same platoon production at 1B (maybe 3rd too). Injury-plagued last year, so might bounce back. Good leader too.
Don’t understand your guys’ love for Cronenworth. He’s been an average hitter at best by WRC+ the past few years, his defense has gotten worse, and he’ll cost more than $12M many more years, into his late 30s.
Arraez really isn’t what Mariners should pursue too heavily right now. Great contact hitter but other stuffs are not good. Def not a good all around player.
I think Santana is the better option. I really wish the mariners would sign a couple big money players and make the rest of the league crap their pants. Ugh maybe one day.
Turner is just such a professional hitter who has pretty much been there and done that. He has been to the WS and knows what it takes to get it done.
Cal certainly spoke up for Turner at the end of last season. I think Justin had a big influence in the clubhouse and the players really liked his presence. Of course money is everything to the M's, so yeah, like Colby said, the cheapest offer accepted will probably be the biggest factor.
Just got my power back. Can’t wait to check out locked on mariners and fan fiction Friday!!!
Dude wtf? I thought it was an underpay sure for an ace like McCaughan. But not this much. 30?!?!?! At least an 80 for the love of the game
And McCaughan saved the game, made a beautiful throw because Correa didn’t run it out.
Colby’s Arráez rant with the Ichiro comparison is pure comedy
Great show guys!
Interesting segment - I glad you folks up there impacted by the Storm are getting your power back on
Love the pod boys!
Turner over Santana. Santana hitting in T-Mobile does not seem promising, and beyond the statistics I think Turner brings more to the clubhouse.
I always thought that if the M’s actually went out and got a real 3rd baseman… which I feel like is unlikely…. then they would just move Rojas to 2nd. We can’t possibly rely on this organization to upgrade 2 positions in one offseason?
We need the hitter. And it sounds like Turner and Julio have a good relationship too, so hopefully that works out.
Yes, agents work for players, but they choose their agent because they trust their advice so to say that it means nothing that Scott Boras typically advising his clients to wait for free agency is simply not true. Does it mean that’s certain? Of course not. But it is a trend worth noting.
Great video guys
Team Turner all day. His clubhouse leadership and the fact that fan bases adore him on and off the field everywhere he goes speak volumes about his character, making him an excellent choice for any organization.
AWESOME SHOW BROS!
How likely is it to get both turner and santana?
Turner for sure. He's consistent hitter which is the most important thing.
Let's go, Mariners!
I wouldn’t mind either Turner or Santana…but Santana brings back good memories
Great show!
I want them to bring Turner back. So does Cal and Raley!
Have you guys watched The Comeback: 2004 Boston Red Sox? One key change made it possible for them to win the world series - New ownership willing to SPEND! They never would have won it, without dumping big money.

I'm just here don't I don't get disqualified for the sweet merch.
600 abs for either one of these old men is ridiculous
If Santana can’t hit rhp, what about Joc Peterson. Garver essentially becomes platoon partner, tho Cal should dh those days for 1/2 a rest. Might mean Locklear sticks to platoon w Raley at 1b. I vote for Turner because he doesn't have any splits. I felt like he really helped Cal Raleigh with his swing.
Carlos Santana hit .238 last year and turns 39 this season. THAT excites our front office? Did they forget he hit under .200 for us in 2022 at age 36????? HE PROVED HE CANT HIT HERE. Mariners will benefit from their leadership
The argument that Turner’s bat speed has already declined and he’s successfully adjusted so might be the safer bet going forward is compelling. I was leaning Santana before that.
Great hats!!!
I hope someone gives rojas a shot but i don't think seattle has at bats to throw at 3B like that (or I hope they don't)
“Either one will be fine” 😂😂
Adam Jude is a gem.
Either batter would be fine, although the defense and power are definitely a welcome sight from Santana...
If I were GM and had a choice. I'm signing Turner, he is a great hitter and I think provides more value.
Love Santana more but I feel great with either or
The more I hear about money and all that it makes me really think that they might sing Kim from the kbo with his contract theoretically being relatively cheap something they might really look to do
Arraez gets on base more than anybody. You can’t say “He’s not a good player,” unless you’re just asking to lose credibility or to be a revel rouser.
It would be nice to have Turner back!
I'd prefer Turner also. I think the big thing is he hit at T-Mobile and we need that.
I’d definitely rather have Turner. Seems like a safer bet.
appreciate the videos, even if they’re not all good news - but that’s not your faults!🔱
Colby is goated
If JT hits better at T-Mobile and has better splits, give me JT. We need more contact
Obviously if the Rockies non-tendering Brendan Rodgers news was earlier in the day, it would have led off the show. lol
The Mariners could really use a left handed DH, but if Santana can only hit lefties, he is effectively a right handed bat.
I'd like to see Turner back.
Reject both.
Hey Guys! Go M's
I think Santana just for Julio would be my pick
Need me that Cal or Robles card
I think I’d prefer Turner, but like you said, either would be fine
Awesome giveaway! Nice Cards.
Turner over Santana
It’s definitely Turner for me
Tomorrow is JT's 40th! Id prefer turner over santana by a long shot. I'd rather add spray hitter like turner over a power bat like santana.
Go M's!
i hope turner comes back over santana i can see the influence stronger from turner on the ball club for sure (could be recency bias tho)
Have to go with Turner. He was just here and passed the interview. Luke and JT manning first base next season lfg.
It's also a risk to assume you can get that same performance out of Voth.
Dumping Rojas bugs me. Somehow I feel like he's a good hitter, in spite of the evidence that he is not. But they really need to. He's probably a $4 mil anchor.
Just sub these guys are awesome!
Justin Turner is the smart choice for sure!
I'd take Turner
Would definitely prefer Turner over Santana.
I’d lean Turner because of the track record hitting at Seattle.
Nice
Trade for a guy like Wilmer Flores. Cheaper contract (an expiring $3.5 million) than you would pay for either one of these two and a guy who will offer you the same platoon production at 1B (maybe 3rd too). Injury-plagued last year, so might bounce back. Good leader too.
Personally Turner!
Probably turner for me.
Let’s bring Turner back -
I would prefer Turner
🪨’n it Every Single Day‼️
Well I guess we’re out on Pete Alonso lol
Turner all day. Period.
Team turner
Damn if only the Ms would just spend we wouldn’t have to split hairs over turner and Santana
Don’t understand your guys’ love for Cronenworth. He’s been an average hitter at best by WRC+ the past few years, his defense has gotten worse, and he’ll cost more than $12M many more years, into his late 30s.
I think Santana is a better fit.
Entering
Turner is the better player overall, clubhouse fit goes to Santana though
Agents work for the players but players hire agents who act in the way that they believe they want them to.
And I’m with Colby. Arraez is fools gold.
I would prefer Turner as well. Time will tell. I wish Stanton would loosen the purse strings.
i vote turner.
better hitter overall. we have enough bogus dh guys.
I really like both guys but maybe we bring back Carlos🤷🏻♂️
Turner gang #Munoztothemoon
I would really rather have Turner over Santana. Santana was cool vibes in 2022 but really underwhelming as a player.
I feel like I would rather have Turners consistency over Santana's (possibly) clutch power.
Still think the M's should sign Walker as a fa, trade for Lowe, sign Santana as Julio's security blanket and find a fireman for the 7th inning.
They only have 16 million to spend 😭
@riloperro That's bs on the surface. Unwillingness to spend is a choice not a requirement.
@@leroypoukkula8514 true but I don’t see anything changing because nothing has ever since this ownership group took over
Not even an hour before the Royals trade for India lol
Guess the whole Seattle-KC thing’s gonna come true
Let's go
W
Dom canzone forever!
I don’t know who I despise more: Stanton or Schultz.
re-sign Turner!
Arraez really isn’t what Mariners should pursue too heavily right now. Great contact hitter but other stuffs are not good. Def not a good all around player.
I'd love to see Justin Turner resigned
My pookie Josh is gone💔
Just Turner over Santana
#teamginger
I think Santana is the better option. I really wish the mariners would sign a couple big money players and make the rest of the league crap their pants. Ugh maybe one day.
