The one wedding I remember going to, I was the flower girl. And at the end, I collected a bunch of dandelions and gave them to the bride, and she gave me her bouquet in exchange. I was a very happy five year old. God I miss those days.
I remember the first wedding I ever attended was for my uncle (who unfortunately passed away recently) I was so excited and happy to attend. Tho what I remember the most was I chose a dress with a stretchy top so I kept having to tug it up!!! 😅 tho the next wedding was even more exciting as it was my older sister’s and I was cantoring (or leading the music for the church mass) I got to do it with my younger sister and I was just so happy my sister had found such a great guy as my BIL!!!
That was a wonderful sweet bride! Most brides keep the bouquet and dry it as a memento. To lovingly bestow such a special item upon their flower girl was an incredibly kind and generous gesture! It would be grand if you still had it!

In my circles, unless specifically asked to wear black, wearing black is EQUALLY as awful as wearing white because it's the colour of death and funerals and is wishing doom and misery on the happy couple. It would get you immediately thrown out. I've NEVER known ANYONE find it acceptable. As adult women we should own at least a handful of timeless dresses that you can change with the accessories. Then every few years when there's a REALLY special wedding or occasion you buy a new dress for that event and then after that also goes into the rotation. That way it never gets dated and you ALWAYS have a stand by. I highly recommend looking for second hand dresses as a LOT of women wear it once and sell them so you can find some INCREDIBLE bargains! And also find INCREDIBLE dresses you would never have otherwise been able to find. As an adult you should ALWAYS have a wedding AND a funeral outfit ready at ALL times. So make sure you have a classic black dress that can easily be changed by the accessories and coats/hats worn with it and once you nail that you'll NEVER be caught off guard and you'll always show up looking and feeling your best. And no more last minute frantic sprints desperately trying to find ANYTHING. That's MUCH worse to do while you're grieving the loss of a close loved one. And you could end up forced into doing that just a day or two after losing them and a week after at best, though that tends to be the longer side. And if it's surrounded by traumatic circumstances or it's a young person that makes it even harder to cope with silly things like finding appropriate funeral attire. You'll be SO thankful for the gift you left for future you. It'll take a HUGE amount of stress off your shoulders at the MOST stressful times. 😂 And having the cute outfits ready to go also makes you go to more events and social occasions which opens your world a up-a little more. So whenever we leave little gifts and lifejackets for our future stressed out selves it's ALWAYS a win win. 😂 Doesn't matter if it's a gift for your happy future self to go to a surprise celebration, like a wedding big birthday parties ect.... Or to cheer up a sad future you with a lifeline for your sad broken grieving self to have an easier time. If you have children they also should have celebration and funeral outfits ready. Seeing my mother do this growing up meant she was never frantically shopping around last minute like everyone else was. 😂 She got it from her mother and when she heard about the queen doing it she was THRILLED and said that was proof of the perfect system 😂 🤦♀️🤷♀️🤣 But it's a WONDERFUL habit. I've NEVER been caught off guard and I'm in my 30s. 😂 So I class it as a win 🤷♀️🤣

I do gigs as a wedding musicians sometimes, and I was blown away when I was asked to play at a desi wedding. Lucky for me I was supposed to mainly be mingle music and not the star of the band or anything, but my simple green dress didn't stand a chance against the works of art all around me
I'm a hopeless romantic and I actually "caught" the bouquet in a wedding this year. It was my first time being a bridesmaid and my expectations for catching the bouquet were pretty much 0 because I have no catching ability whatsoever. I was just hanging halfheartedly around the back of the crowd of girls waiting for the bride to catch the bouquet. When the bride threw the bouquet it went sailing over everybody's heads and landed next to me, so I picked it up expecting that they would want to do a redo since nobody actually caught it. But instead they told me it was mine and dragged me up to the front to take a picture with the bride. 😂Not quite how I imagined I would one day "catch" the bouquet at a wedding, but hey! Your dreams don't always land in your lap. Sometimes they're waiting for you to pick them up. 😉 So don't lose hope, all you other hopeless romantics out there! It may not happen the way you pictured it, but enjoy the happiness of those romantic moments. 🥰

It was a very small and private wedding, the bride didn't even have a wedding dress, _by choice,_ but the guests.... we were told business casual, but NO ONE except men was business casual. The women were all dressed in very "I'm-just-going-on-a-walk-to-the-city" kind of casual. Me and my mom tried very hard.... but we were still overdressed 🥲

I'm gonna guess that look is characterized with a comfortable, but stylish, dress/romper made of soft, stretchy material. Basically a T shirt dress, with some accessories and maybe a nice suit jacket, paired with comfy flats or ankle boots. At least that's what I'd wear, as someone with anxiety.
