@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Great.👍🏼 Good thing you didn't put generic Arabic Music or Pseudo Oriental Indian Music. Iranian civilization has produced some great folk and classical music.
I'm so glad you decided to go ahead and ride through Iran. I've followed many other cyclists' journeys through Iran (even some solo women cyclists), and they all had extremely enjoyable experiences there. The solo women had each at least one or two unsolicited advances made on them, but fortunately they all ended without any physical harm being done. There was one young British man who travelled across Iran in the winter. In the six weeks he was there he said he'd only slept in his tent twice! Everyday, people offered him a spot in their homes to get him in from the cold. Everyone speaks glowingly of the friendliness, hospitality, helpfulness, and curiosity of the Iranian people. I wish I could cycle there, but with an American passport I doubt that's even possible.
Yes, we also ended up spending very little time in our tent 😉 As far as we know with an US passport you can only travel Iran as part of a guided tour, which would be very difficult and expensive to realise with biketouring. It would also drastically limit the interactions with locals. We can only hope that one day things change.
Yep, everyone says the same good things about Iran. Usually the "worst thing" that happens is being overwhelmed by the rockstar levels of attention that you get all the time. The solo female that you are talking about is pushbikegirl? I am reading her blog now, she had a couple close calls there. But it seems thats worst in Turkey.
By the way, on the contrary, the people of Iran love Americans more than the rest of the people in the world, and they take delivery. You can search on the Internet or on UA-cam, the Americans who came to Iran and introduced themselves as Americans loved them much more. I suggest that you definitely come to Iran, the above country. It is wonderful and safe, don't listen to the media
@@mortezabahadoryan I have no doubt that's the case. I was speaking more about the possibility for Americans to get visas for crossing Iran. At any rate, for me it's probably a bit late. Though I am still cycle touring (shorter 2-to-3 week tours in the summer), longer tours are not really in the picture for me any longer. I think my 72 year-old body can still do them, but I don't feel comfortable leaving my 72-year old wife alone much longer than a couple weeks. 😊

As an Iranian I should say that you played Setar perfect for the first time 😍 so glad that you didn’t only share the dark side of Iran and tried to experience it as is. Hope you had fun there. This video made me miss my country.
Thank you 😊 🙏 Of course, we try to present every country in its full beauty. It is why we chose to travel the world, but obviously, there are some problems we can't pretend not to exist as it wouldn't portray reality. From our point of view, Iran has been by far the most interesting country with unmatched hospitality.
Unbelievable! What is the dark side of Iran? Has Iran killed so many people during World War II and occupied its neighboring countries? Did Iran kill the native American people during the occupation of this land? Has Iran used two atomic bombs in Japan and killed so many people and left behind disabled generations? Does Iran commit genocide in Palestine or does it support the killing of children and women? No, this is only part of the crimes of shameless and lying Western countries.
Great video, but right in the center of Tabriz there is a park called Shahgoli with a beautiful lake and an old monument in the center. It is a pity you didn't visit this historic park!
@petersteinmeijer519 apparently. Although we didn't see it as a destination rather than a part of our long journey to the east. Due to the obvious problems we carefully weighed our risks and eventually took an informed decision and certain precautions. So, in our view, it was a sensible decision, but what's sensible and what not might be a tad bit subjective.
If you're looking for kindness, hospitality, culture, honesty and decency then Iran is a very sensible place to visit. If the comment was meant to be sarcastic (I hadn't realised either) then I think it missed the mark.
I have just come across your video channel. Very interesting, so you have a new subscriber 👍😉. I wish you both happy and safe travels, Gail Czech Republic ❤️ ❤️
Very polite & interesting [couple] tourists: the type we Iranians profoundly enjoy having them in our country. We wish them to enjoy their stay here in Iran!
Hey guys Welcome to Iran. I reside in a city near Mashad, called Torbat. Its my honor to host u in our city.its well known for its red gold, called Saffron. Wish to see you around🎉
Great question. First of all, there is no official legal definition on what a headscarf has to cover. Apparently, the most important thing is the upper part of the back of the head. Then Tabriz is a huge city and in parts of the city centre the headscarf was not enforced, at least at the time of our visit pretty much one year ago. That has changed in the meantime, however, as the morality police is back in the streets.
actually there is no morality police any more in the country . there is only police officers going around moreover the police officers wont do anything either. so if you came to iran one day. don't be worry about hijab.
So glad you changed your plans. Governments may be awful but the people are lovely and the scenery stunning. Don't take risks of course but friends who cycled there around 5 years ago had no problems, in fact they got a lift in an army truck. I think the world would be a better place without governments, people get along just fine. Thanks for the video.
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Not necessarily. Governments get installed by the help of foreign meddling all the time it's not something that's simply on the shoulders of that nation but many factors are involved.
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Iran is safe because of our government! You enjoyed kind, beautiful and safe Iran. So please don't repeat the nonsense of your government!
Hello guy's. Thanks for another great video. I've always wanted to bicycle tour in Iran, after watching this video I now realise that I could do it. So I'm back from my Asian trip, Singapore to Bangkok. I travelled up the east coast of Malaysia, crossed into Thailand, then headed west. I went to the island of Phuket to meet up with some friends, then headed north. I crossed Thailand again, this time west to east, then continued north to Bangkok. About 3000 km. I'm thinking of going back to Asia at the end of June, will you guy's still be there, or have you moved on ? It would be so nice to meet up and have dinner, please let me know if that's a possibility. Kind regards, Neil.
Hey Neil 👋 That sounds like an awesome trip! Unfortunately, we didn't make it that far south. We are in central Vietnam now on our way to China. We struggle a lot with the heat and humidity the last few weeks. This week it is well over 40°C every day... If everything works out, we will be in China by mid-June. Where are you headed? We plan to be in Korea in autumn.
Love your videos. I’m cycling myself at the moment and am in Yerevan. I will go to Iran next. Where did you get your Rials ? Yerevan, at the border and did you exchange Armenian Dram to Rials?
Awesome! Do NOT change money in Armenia. You can change a small amount and remaining Dram through a counter inside the Iranian border building. Check rates via www.bonbast.com and make sure you understand the notations. They usually speak in thousands of Toman. For example 100 Toman are 100.000 Toman are 1.000.000 Rial. Currently 1€ is about 660.000 Rial, but you will never eve get that as a rate. 63 would be pretty good in this case, maybe you get 64 in a bigger city. Watch the video again, it has all the information you need. Be very careful speaking negative about the government, and or Islam. Delete your Google translate history and messenger histories regularly. We wish you an awesome time in Iran!
Im Irani ( IRANIAN ) Taking photos and filming in Iran cannot lead to your arrest in any way. You must not have any political record against Iran. Other than that, almost all laws are similar to European countries except that you need to wear a hijab. That's it. Iran has almost the same laws as the rest of the world. Its people are very kind and hospitable, and our country poses no danger to you. Except for risks such as accidents, thieves, etc., which can happen anywhere in the world.
Unfortunately we know other cyclists who got arrested, interrogated and send out of the country for taking perfectly normal photos. There are countless well documented cases where random tourists were held hostage by the Iranians government for political leverage. We do not want to start a huge discussion here, but for what we can tell, the differences in the rule of law and personal freedom between Germany and even Armenia compared to Iran are massive. We experienced a few slightly threatening encounters during our time in the country. However, overall we had an incredible time and we're very glad we came!
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour You do not know any such cases because it's all made up. :) You get arrested only if you take photos of military complexes or places where taking photos is illegal and all such places have signs that very clearly tell you that taking photos is forbidden. Stop with your propaganda.

Hi Guys amazing to see you have gone into Iran, I have been following your tour from the start loving your content, I am British and will be leaving the UK to cycle to Thailand later this year I had given up hope of going through Iran, do you think it would be possible for me to get a visa in Turkiye to cycle in to Iran? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Hey Steve. Unfortunately, with a British passport that is practically impossible for the time being. As far as we know, you could travel Iran as part of a guided tour, but not as an individual. If Azerbaijan is still closed, your best option would be to take a flight to Central Asia from Georgia or Armenia. Make sure to obtain a China visa before you reach CA if you need one for your trip. Enjoy your adventure!
Many thanks for your reply and confirming what I believed to be the case. 😢 I will probably get a flight from Turkie to India. I wish you all the best on your future travels and look forward to your future videos.
you guys did a great job. respect. we will be really grateful and it would be really helpful for the country's economy if you share the true impressions of your journey to the other foreigners. and one of the sad truths is that driving in Iran is mostly unruly so you should just rely on your all senses to survive. other than that I think having a great time in Iran is pretty affordable and worth the price.
Haha, yes Iranians like to push the pedal to the metal. However, we've felt fairly safe on Iranian roads most of the time. The drivers did not feel aggressive to us, which can not be said about all of the other countries we've cycled through so far. And yes, Iran was very light on our budget!

Welcome to Iran, I hope you had a good time. I wish you would visit the famous cities like Isfahan, Mazandaran and Shiraz
Thanks. If you watch our other episodes you will see that we saw many wonderful places in Iran ☺️
Great video, as always. I just love all the infos you give us, I learn so much with you guys, but at the same time, I can't help to worry.
Thanks. Don't worry, we always carefully weigh risks and talk a lot with locals about our route.
as Iranian I tell you welcome to Iran and hope have amazing experience in iran, visit my city Isfahan too❤❤
Iran was mind-blowing, and of course we also visited Isfahan. What a wonderful city!
showing real side of iran amazing
Thank you 🙏
Iran is the one of best country’s with long history and culture and food and beautiful and warm people ever seen , enjoy in Iran you guys,,👏👋👍❤️
Certainly! One of the absolute highlights of our journey!
You are wonderfull. Enjoy your time.
Have a nice trip. Good luck. 😊🌹❤️👋
Thanks Ismail! We hope you're doing well!
As an Iranian I should say that you played Setar perfect for the first time 😍 so glad that you didn’t only share the dark side of Iran and tried to experience it as is. Hope you had fun there. This video made me miss my country.
Thank you 😊 🙏
Of course, we try to present every country in its full beauty. It is why we chose to travel the world, but obviously, there are some problems we can't pretend not to exist as it wouldn't portray reality.
From our point of view, Iran has been by far the most interesting country with unmatched hospitality.
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour wish you luck on your journey 😍
Unbelievable! What is the dark side of Iran? Has Iran killed so many people during World War II and occupied its neighboring countries? Did Iran kill the native American people during the occupation of this land? Has Iran used two atomic bombs in Japan and killed so many people and left behind disabled generations? Does Iran commit genocide in Palestine or does it support the killing of children and women? No, this is only part of the crimes of shameless and lying Western countries.
How brave are you guys to bike on these crazy roads!
Haha, well. We've seen worse, to be honest. 😉
woman life freedom💪
by the way, 18:41, they are singing Turkish
Yes, this is the East Azerbaijan province of Iran. People there speak a Turkic language.
It's persian Turkish 😅❤
Great video, but right in the center of Tabriz there is a park called Shahgoli with a beautiful lake and an old monument in the center. It is a pity you didn't visit this historic park!
Thanks! We actually did, but did not film it.
What a wonderful and, above all, sensible destination.
Thank you! And that was just the beginning 😉
@@AmazingWorldBikeTour Sarcasm is lost on you, isn't it ?
@petersteinmeijer519 apparently. Although we didn't see it as a destination rather than a part of our long journey to the east. Due to the obvious problems we carefully weighed our risks and eventually took an informed decision and certain precautions. So, in our view, it was a sensible decision, but what's sensible and what not might be a tad bit subjective.
If you're looking for kindness, hospitality, culture, honesty and decency then Iran is a very sensible place to visit. If the comment was meant to be sarcastic (I hadn't realised either) then I think it missed the mark.
@@weeringjohnny I'm sure the Iranian people are all that and have those qualities, but they are not in charge, are they ?
I enjoyed watching. Ride safe ❤
Thanks 🙂
Great you select Baraye (Sherwin Hajipour)
Thanks 👍
Thank you too! We learned that Iran has lots of great music 🎶

Liked the dancing part very much :)
We also did a lot of dancing in our first Kurdistan episode ;-)
Excellent ❤️
Thanks 😊
Been waiting for this one :)
More is in the works 💪
Very polite & interesting [couple] tourists: the type we Iranians profoundly enjoy having them in our country. We wish them to enjoy their stay here in Iran!
Thank you so much. We had an astonishing time in Iran and are glad that we came!
awsome stuff, love specially the background music picks :D
Thank you. We got some great music suggestions from our Iranian friends.
Fantastic video!
Thank you very much!
Hey guys
Welcome to Iran.
I reside in a city near Mashad, called Torbat.
Its my honor to host u in our city.its well known for its red gold, called Saffron.
Wish to see you around🎉
Thank you so much. We did not go to Mashad at the time because crossing Turkmenistan was no viable option for us back then.
Good job
Thank you! 🙏🏽
Iran is one of the best country in the world
Well, we certainly had a wonderful time!
Miss u guyz😍 beautiful and informative video
Thanks Arman! Miss you too 🥰
Very nice ❤
Thanks 🤗
Welcome to my lovely country IRAN. ❤
Thank you!
Great. You are welcome to IRAN enjoy your trip. It is amazing and beautiful. Best Wishes. Morteza Iran. Barin TV😍
Thank you very much. We had an incredible time!
How did you get away with no head scarf in Tabriz?
Great question.
First of all, there is no official legal definition on what a headscarf has to cover. Apparently, the most important thing is the upper part of the back of the head.
Then Tabriz is a huge city and in parts of the city centre the headscarf was not enforced, at least at the time of our visit pretty much one year ago.
That has changed in the meantime, however, as the morality police is back in the streets.
actually there is no morality police any more in the country . there is only police officers going around moreover the police officers wont do anything either. so if you came to iran one day. don't be worry about hijab.
Please don't say bullshit my friend 😂@@amir_aj2974
So glad you changed your plans. Governments may be awful but the people are lovely and the scenery stunning.
Don't take risks of course but friends who cycled there around 5 years ago had no problems, in fact they got a lift in an army truck.
I think the world would be a better place without governments, people get along just fine.
Thanks for the video.
We are absolutely glad that we did as well. However, in a way, governments are also the result of the people, at least at one point in time.
You need to visit Croatia as well if you could
We might very well cycle the Balkans in the future 😉
Im Irani ( IRANIAN )
Taking photos and filming in Iran cannot lead to your arrest in any way.

Thank you so much. Tabriz was indeed a wonderful city! We hope to visit it again some day.
I love you from Iran. 🌹 ❤️
Now I see your luggage in hostel Phát Tài in Quang Tri Province, nice trip!
Thank you! We've come a long way 😉
Hi Guys amazing to see you have gone into Iran, I have been following your tour from the start loving your content, I am British and will be leaving the UK to cycle to Thailand later this year I had given up hope of going through Iran, do you think it would be possible for me to get a visa in Turkiye to cycle in to Iran?
All the best to you! Bike touring in India is probably among the toughest places in the world 😅
Wellcome to our conuntry guys. 😃👍
you guys did a great job. respect. we will be really grateful and it would be really helpful for the country's economy if you share the true impressions of your journey to the other foreigners. and one of the sad truths is that driving in Iran is mostly unruly so you should just rely on your all senses to survive. other than that I think having a great time in Iran is pretty affordable and worth the price.
Haha, yes Iranians like to push the pedal to the metal. However, we've felt fairly safe on Iranian roads most of the time. The drivers did not feel aggressive to us, which can not be said about all of the other countries we've cycled through so far. And yes, Iran was very light on our budget!
