    Very helpful demonstration! My Hunter wireless stopped shutting off the sprinklers after a rain for some reason. The simple "hold the black button down for 5 seconds" solved my problem. My system is only 4 years old and I thought it couldn't be the battery. All is good now. Thanks!

    does rainbird make something comparable? I have a rain sensor mounted off the roof by the side of my garage and it works well as for shutting the system off but it seems to dry out too quickly turning the system active after 1 day sometimes. I know heat and wind can effect it but it sure would be nice to adjust it to not be so quick to go active again. Got the Orbit b Hyve by the way, think I'm going to have my sprinkler people hook it up either this fall before winterizing or next spring at opening!

    What kind of batteries does the wireless sensor take and is there a way to see how much battery life is left? How do you know when the batteries are dead?

    • @garyssprinklerrepair

      The outdoor transmitter has a sealed battery good for 10 yrs. it's not replaceable.To test hold down the black spindle button until the red light on the bottom flashes, then release the button if the red light again flashes the battery is good. Hope that helps, sorry for the delay UA-cam put the comment in "held for. review. Lol, hope you get a chance to subscribe to my channel.

    Can you go through the steps on how to set up cycle and soak program on a Pro C controller?

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  4 роки тому

      With the timer dial in run, hold down the plus (+) sign for 3 seconds. While still holding it down turn the dial to run times, then let go of + button.
      Set partial time (ex: if total of 9 minutes per day is desired you could set it for 3 minutes then it will soak in between)use the arrow button to select each stain you want to do this too. Now press the PRG button and put a soak cycle for each of them, using the arrows. Re hitting the PRG button each time using the arrow button to move each time or to skip a station that didn’t have a (cycle time added to it) Hope this helped, if you need more assistance Google “Hunter Pro C pdf. The instructions for the X core (hunter) system show that you can have a programmable delay for return of sprinkler operation after a rain, ( Page 20 ) . But when I program the delay it counts down the number of days and then poof ! that programming disappears and the delay program won't be there for the next rain event.
    Seems stupid to have that rain delay (number of days after a rain event that the irrigation won't happen) be there for only one rain event.
    Am I doing something wrong in my programming steps ? or is it really just a one time delay and that it?
    Thanks !!

      @garyssprinklerrepair  5 років тому

      Tom tommyL no, you’re correct it doesn’t repeat. You can install a rain/freeze sensor (see my other video)then it won’t come on until the outside sensor dries out. Hope that helps, Subscribe if you get a chance ✌️

    Will this switch work on a john deere irrigation pump? Can it be wire to a timer box?

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  4 роки тому

      Its intended for use with Hunter irrigation timers. Beyond that you would need to contact the Manufacturer.

    My question is my hunter control box doesn’t have the bypass switch, but it has it on the wheel. I replaced the wireless transmitter only and synched it to my hunter box.(green and red light box). How do I know when my hunter box is actually in bypass mode without a switch. My original transmitter was about 8 yrs old and figured it was time to replace it.

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  4 місяці тому

      Bypass mode causes the rain sensor to not function. Let’s say it’s “red” and you want to water anyway. Push the bypass tab on the receiver and now you can water.
      Newer version’s on the Hunter timer also have a switch.
      Hope that helps, don’t forget to Subscribe.

    mine sensor shows red for couple hours than goes back to green and its summer in cali any suggestions ?

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  5 років тому

      balk37, well hard to say for sure without being there. Is it possible the sprinklers are hitting it when they come on? Check the 2- yellow wires and the blue and white wires to make sure they’re still snug on the timer. If it rains but not very much the sensor will dry out pretty quick if the vent is all the way open. I usually only open it about half way.

    OK i found your video AFTER in made the BIG mistake of leaving the power to my Hunter ProC when i was installing the Hunter Rain Clik sensor now the receiver lost the address of the transmitter and the light stays yellow...How do i fix that? THANKS

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  5 років тому +1

      MICHAEL PERREIRA don’t worry, just unplug the timer. Give it a minute, plug back in. Now the light should be red, depress the black pin on transmitter for 5 seconds, release the pin. Light should turn green and time back on timer. ✅

    Hi Gary. My hunter timer in RUN displays a small umbrella and off in small font when the sensor is active and is green. When the rain sensor is red and the timer is in RUN, the display shows OFF in large font and an umbrella. The only way the timer will show the time and day is if I place the timer on bypass. It's a brand new system professionally installed in 2021. Is the time and day not showing when the sensor is green normal? Thanks.

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  3 роки тому

      I feel the sensor might-have been installed incorrectly. Unplug the timer from the wall. Make sure switch is set to active, blue and white wire are installed on the sensor screws (there’s no polarity and the metal jumper should have been removed))
      Make sure yellow leads are in 24 ac location.
      Now plug timer into wall outlet, go outside and hold down the black pin for 5 seconds on the transmitter, release the black pin.
      The light should now be green and the time of day showing on the timer.

    • @Steelringstrue
      @Steelringstrue 3 роки тому

      @@garyssprinklerrepair It was actually the white wire. The installer placed the cover on the controller without tighting it up. Clock and day on display with sensor on. Prefect. Thanks Gary!

    My top light is blinking red. What does that mean?

    • @garyssprinklerrepair
      @garyssprinklerrepair  6 місяців тому +1

      That is indicating no signal from the transmitter. To test the transmitter battery, press and hold the black spindle button outside on the top of the transmitter. The light should be blinking red- now release the button and the light should now be blinking red again if it does the battery is good. If not the transmitter needs to be replaced. Hope that helped. It’s pretty simple Frank, the blue and white wire connect to the two sen screws doesn’t matter which one goes where. The two yellow wires go to the power (make sure to turn it off 1st) the orange wire isn’t used on aHunter timer. Flip the sensor switch to active. Plug timer power back in. Push black pin down and hold for 5 seconds on the transmitter unit that goes outside, done. Sorry you were having a difficult time. Let me know if you need more help.✌️
