Great book, this plus Christina Hoff Sommers' "The War Against Boys" are essential reading for anyone wanting to take deep and well-written dives into this topic.
The logic, reasoning is usually airtight he reminds of Spock from StarTrek?...what would the most logical/rational human being be like? Not saying Banatar is free of biases and logical errors even he admits to "not being 100%" the sign of a true philosopher lol he just can't see logical/rational arguments against "antinatalism" This is the first interview heard him talk about something other than AN... Question have heard Banatar answer... 1. Is the "self/false self/ego" real or not? Sam Harris sort of hinted at this when he talked with him but did not go into detail..."Who is the one who is suffering?" Also the distinction between physical and psychological suffering. 2. Is "freewill/responsibility" real or not? Who is choosing to have or not have kids? The questions are strongly connected. Read his latest book and he did not answer them there. The book was "The Human Predicament" thought he would say something about them since is an a philosopher. Anyone know? Banatar has admitted to not being well versed in the "Eastern" religions or teachings of say Buddha, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Sri Nis Maharaj which border on a type of atheistic teachings "religion of no religions"...
His book was way better than Jordan Peterson's book.
It has little to do with it though
@@giladkingsley It has enought for it to be better.

Is this really David Benatar's pic?
No, it's the interviewer. Benatar's face is largely shrouded in mystery.
No that's ricardo's pic
No, David Benatar looks like a blue circle with a line and then an X.
