Interesting. It really looks like he’s brushing the ball from its lower back so it should either be side spin of top spin, but it turns out to be backspin. What’s the reason behind this?
He uses the backspin and goes through the ball using his wrist. There's actually a video of Liu Goliang teaching this technique to...Xu Xin when he was still playing within the national team and you can hear Liu Goliang saying something like "It's very easy, why don't you get it? Use your wrist!!!".
Not brushing, he say's do not retract. It's not a topsin over backspin. He's returning the backspin by doing more of a vertical block and by pushing forward.
@@kenji2787 i think he sort of pushing (blade a bit upward movement) the coming under spin ball with a slightly open angle bat between 3+ ~ 4+ o’clock, depending on his prediction of spin rate, the ball’s height & distance relative to the net ..etc ..
Hes not hitting form the lower back hes hitting in the middle with quite a bit of force, the underspin ball then spins down towards the table but the forward's momentum propels it beyond the net, if you don't hit it fast enough it will just go to the net

how do you do it with shakehands grip? he does it in pen
you do it the same way
The other guy don't know how to feed backspin balls.
The partner doesn't know how to ad backspin to the ball. He just pusches the ball.
