    Thank you so much!!!!
    This is the bomb.
It's actually the promo vid for the tune when it came out.
It's Paul Rodgers singing live to the studio tune, and the music plays longer with no fade out, with a longer lead guitar at the end and Paul adding harmonica in the middle.
    🔥💯👍

That was a perfect performance, I love what you guys are doing with the studio version first and then someone’s favorite live cause we get to see stuff for the first time too even though we’ve been around the block a few times lol…
On that note, I’d like to officially cast my vote for your Black Sabbath War Pigs live, I totally agree with most of your commenters that you should do the mid 60s festival, before anyone knew who they were because it’s fantastic, but I think this is a song that deserves two lives because you really need to see the performance from their last tour… it’s almost spiritual … it’s decades later, Ozzy has reached A whole other level of greatness, hundreds of thousands of people do the percussion and the vocals for the first part of the song, people are crying just to be there, The earlier one, he was there to prove how talented the band was, in this one he’s there to give gratitude to the fans for decades of loyalty, It’s an incredible thing to witness! You also get some close-ups of Tony lommi’s prosthetic finger which inadvertently created the metal sound to begin with 🤘🏼💚✨ Ozzy Osbourne‘s birthday was yesterday, happy birthday prince of darkness, guess he’s on the brain Sorry to be so long-winded about another artist under bad companys video…. oh, those tight jeans, they all had them back in the day. It’s so funny… We loved it! Lol✌💕💫😎

I think it's smart to do the studio version first when it's an unknown song. However, live can add so much more to a song. I think for the most part studio first is fine but live very often adds much more.

    Att Bars & Barebells
    food for thought
Singer Paul Rodgers ( Bad Co, Free) and majority of 60's & 70's artists you've reacted to are all hugely influenced by black blues ( soul & Funk). In fact Paul Rodgers has a phenomenal Tribute to Muddy Waters album with allstar guests from David Gilmour ( Pink Floyd) Brian May ( Queen) and many others
    Highly suggest
    Muddy Waters - "Mannish Boy"
written in 50's but the 1977 version ( produced by Johnny Winter) is the most known and best version!!!

Paul Rogers was known as the voice of rock ‘n’ roll. I think I’m pretty sure that when after Freddie Mercury died, Paul Rogers toured with queen and sang all the queen hits on a tour. Bad company has so many great songs, Mick Ralphs the guitar player played with Mott the Hoople earlier in his career Paul Rogers sang for another band. I can’t remember the name at the moment, but had great hits with that band also. You can’t go wrong at all with Bad Company.

Live vs Studio is a tough one. Almost every concert I've seen I left thinking that was awesome! Yet most live records suck to me for some reason? This one I think the studio version is better although it's still pretty good.
For me a few of the best live songs.....
Ten Years After - I'm Going Home ( Woodstock )
Johnny Cash - Folsom Prison Blues
Bob Seger And The Silver Bullet Band - Turn The Page
Eva Cassidy - Fields of Gold (Live at Blues Alley)
Lynard Skynard - Free Bird (1977 Oakland 'On The Green') > You've done this one.
Lots of others, when it's right it's right.

As was typical back in the day, it's a live vocal over the studio track for a television promo. When you have a singer as good as Paul Rodgers who excels at improvisation, they usually suck at lip synching, and they hate to do it. So a compromise is to have a mix of the studio track without the vocal so that the singer can still let loose. The 1970 All Right Now from BBC Top of the Pops is another good example of this. There's a "live" Rock N' Roll Fantasy here on youtube from some German tv show where Paul is forced to lip synch and he looks as bored and annoyed as you can get and he doesn't do a great job..lol

Actually Paul Rogers lead singer of bad company and Jimmy page of Led Zeppelin had a band in the early 80s called The Firm. Their song make up or break up is amazing. Y’all might wanna check it out👍

This was one of the biggest jams when I was in high school, 1978-81. Pretty much one of the "soundtrack" songs of that era. The studio version is better.

studio vs live, live gives both singer and player more freedom leading to more loose playing and more playful singing. Studio is "Jeans" high and tight.

Another 70s band who were as good live as on record. Paul Rodgers is one of the best singers from that time. Try "Shooting Star".

Thanks so much for doing my Bad Co. selection !
PLEASE do AC/DC Sin City live in Paris '79.
It's even better than the studio.
    Bon Scott with Angus !

Thanks David! Appreciate you introducing us to Bad Company! We have Walk All Over You next on the list for AC/DC but we'll keep that one in mind!

      Thank you !
It will get tons of likes !
For Walk All Over You, do the studio version with the video of them playing in it !

I think the live version overall is better, but it's not really an apples-to-apples comparison because of the impact of the video.

Not sure if the music is live, the vocals are for sure

I'm pretty sure this is the full studio instrumentation that extends the song without the fadeout and lengthens the lead guitar at the end.
Paul is definitely live, and love that middle harmonica he added 👍
