Ppl here thinking Simon needs more money . Why does he care if PSA increase the value when it will take a year to get back , his friend runs a grading company . And the Ace grading looks better . It’s not all about money
Also he has said multiple times he's not trying to make money on them, if he likes them he'll keep them for himself no matter how much they cost, he doesn't need the money
It’s understandable that it’s his friends thing but this company looks very amateur compared to the other grading companies. Grading at PSA and other companies cost more sending them in and then will be more once u get them back because of their history of being reputable, which Ace doesn’t have, it’s not all about the money ur right. Not that it’s likely, but his friend could be the dude grading them compared to huge companies that have employees who only do this for years and have been around for a while that specialize in this, which in turn makes them more expensive. Also Massive L thinking these look better than a PSA or any other company in that case
@@tomh6380 PSA has next to no quality control, the amount of mistakes they make and questionable grades they give is shocking. It's almost as if they still have a random person with a magnifying glass combing through the cards, and they have almost zero transparency on the grading process. If you had said Beckett or CGC maybe you would have had an actual point about being a trusted quantity, but PSA is just old and known, not reliable or transparent. Also you would have to be daft to think a plain white box with black text and a red border looks better than any of these labels.
@tomh6380 In what way does it NOT look better?? It has custom detailing for each individual card, whereas PSA is literally a white box with a red border. Randy most likely does look at the cards, but he's already said he has employees which are very experienced in card grading and help him grade so it isn't a 1 man biased job. If it was biased, he could've given every top card a 10 and called it a day. Even other large companies recognise Ace and have complimented them on many posts. You can check Ace's post on when an Ace-graded Rayquaza sold for more than 3 PSA Rayquazas, and other large grading companies congratulated them. He's keeping the cards so I don't see any harm supporting a friend and getting better looking gradings at the same time🤷♂️
If Ace’s grading standards match PSA’s and Becketts in the next few years this would go down as arguably one of the greatest submissions out there. To get that many 9/10 grades on cards that thick is completely unheard off
Ace grade on whole numbers, PSA don't. That's why it's tougher to get a 10 from PSA than it is from Ace. An Ace 9 would probably be a 9.5 from PSA, which would add extra value to the card.
@@RayWAFCKCCthen explain how when people regaraded PSA 10s to ACE some were coming back 9s? And some say ACE can be harsh with their grading. @almostkinda Ace aren’t at the level of PSA as there is still a lot of bias to PSA (Or the big 3). Down to a number of reasons some being; they have been grading for longer so there is natrally a lot more trust in them. Grading with the top grading companies take longer so people are investing more time in getting their cards back. Collectors have invested more money in other grading companies which heavily promotes that there is more value in them. But Ace have been rising in value with Pokémon a Rayquaza sold for more than some PSA cards of the same value. Long story short, if you want to add some immediate value to your cards invest with the big 3 and wait for them to return. @@RayWAFCKCCPSA is also full numbers maybe you confused it with BSG cause BSG 10 is the best grade to get but overall PSG takes it since a 9.5 is most likely to get in BSG… 9.5 in anything = a 9 PSA
Simon has to realize his handling of these cards is important, but Panini has notoriously bad QC. On top of that. Think of the "on card" signed ones, they have been shipped from the production facility, to the player, the player then physically handles the card and signs it, then they are shipped back to Panini and then hand packed (at least for the National Treasures). That is a lot of hands touching a card before you get it. Makes cards graded 10 even more special.
Honestly in the UK even card shop owners will recommend ACE apparently PSA have issues with how long they take and how often cards go missing and plus the shipping so it's not worth the hassle anymore
Hey Simon, I’m glad you’re getting into the hobby! Card collecting is really big in the states, but they don’t have many soccer (football) cards here. If card collecting became more popular in Europe it’s better for the whole hobby. Also, some cards can get a 9 despite being in immaculate condition. Quality of the card is one thing, but graders also look at the centering of the cards and see if they were printed onto the card perfectly straight. More likely than not, the card is printed on a few millimeters closer to one side than the other. This explains why some cards in perfect condition still get a 9 grade.
Mate, he clearly knows nothing about how cards are graded. He doesn't know about things like centering, edges, etc. He's only using Ace to get them graded because his pal owns the company and he's getting his perks..
