Id just like to thank you for making these videos, its made the process of tearing down my 1199 Panigale much easier. I ran the engine out of oil and it has internal damage which leads me to ask you this question. Can you help me or can you point me in the right direction to repair my engine or source a used engine? Im in Santa Barbara California and im willing to drive to you as you're in San Diego i take it based on the shirt you were wearing. Any help is huge. Thank you in advance!
Hi, I am actually in the UK. Poor fashion choice I am afraid to say regarding the t shirt. There are a couple of breakers on Ebay who are based in the US and might have an engine (Gotham Cycles is one i have used a few times)
For the earlier engines (2013) its not necessary unless you want to take advantage of the extra 500 RPM the R gets due to the lighter internals I will be getting this bike remapped but not because of the engine change, but rather to change throttle response etc The later engines would need a full remap as they make more power than the S so have a different fuel map. Hope that makes sense
Great video as always. I’m excited to hear your thoughts on the R engine vs the standard one that was in prior. Curious if the seat of the pants feel is very different. Also I can’t believe you race that thing with the stock footpegs. They’re so incredibly slippery. The 1299 ones are great though and cheap.
@@robevans3980 I think a lot of the power feeling comes down to the bigger rear sprocket on the R at 41 teeth versus the base model and S at 39. We will see :) The rear sets will be changed as only track days with those and they were not great
DesmoWerx if my memory serves, even the 1199 and S models were updated with a 41T sprocket. I think I remember that service bulletin happening early on in the Panigale cycle.
@@robevans3980 They might have updated it via a service bulletin, will have to dig around and see what I can find out, I know up to 2014 the base models and S ran 39 rear sprockets and my 2016 1299 also has the same, from 2015 I think the more powerful R went back to 39 tooth rear as well.
Dude! your videos and channel are EPIC! you've inspired me to make my channel as epic as I possibly can! keep up the amazing work 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Cheers, glad you like it. Good luck with your Vlogging

No need for remapping the ECU for the R engine?
