NOYFB you're actually wrong but whatever lol. it will hold the revs if you're coming out of a low speed corner with wheelspin. the wheelspin at the start usually tells it 2 stay at redline or flooring it from a start hard makes it stay at redline in sport or normal mode.
@Vincent Lopez Ik it’s 2 years old but I hope you realize now that holding the car at redline is the slowest thing you can do in a race, you want to shift and keep your rpm in power band or you just cap out

Its a belt and a pulley and the pulley expands or despands depending on where your foot is on the gas. It basically changes the gear ratio. Now granted its not at all good for cvts reliability it does make the car go faster then a traditional gearbox.

it's a cvt. it has a broad amount of gear ratios that it can switch between by way of pulleys with a steel belt. the power delivery is a bit slower at low rpms this way but once it gets to that redline it pretty much stays there, other than the simulated shifts Nissan loves to employ in its CVTs.
I do believe that it is safe to say that Nissan has improved their CVT
In the Maxima at least. Most complaints about the CVT in Nissans are related to the Sentra, Altima, Versa and Pathfinder.

I like the non fake shifting high non stop rev like a normal cvt and the 2017 and 2016 accord 4 c have.
I seen someone says they’re not supposed to do that mine did it sometimes all the way up to 90 other times it would simulate shifts
