Hello☺ starting from 3:35 min you write in video: Sony 50 1.8 and Viltrox 50 1.8. Is it mistake ( did you mean 35mm?) or you did compare these two lenses 50mm ? Thank you
If I didn't already own the Sony , I would definitely be taking a look at that Viltrox lens. The auto focus test was an eyeopener. The bokeh did look a little busy compared to the Sony though and I do prefer the Sony"s smaller size on my A7C. Good job Oma and Hani in showcasing the Viltrox!
Oma, great video. I think that your Viltrox copy may have some minor decentering issue causing it to be slightly off plane with the center focus. The sharpness image comparison at 8:52 seems to confirm this (slightly less contrast, hazy, washed out look typical of decentered lenses). This issue is typically magnified at shallow open apertures and gets masked (though doesn't disappear completely) as you stop down...just like in this video. I would be interested to see if another copy would produce the same results. Alternatively, if you still have the lens, you may want to try the in camera focus correction to see if that addresses the soft image issue somewhat. This used to be a very common issue with DSLR lenses. I haven't seen too much of this with mirrorless lenses, but it does happen from time to time.
I've like the viltrox, but the sharpness of sony is incredible. And focus breathing. And af/mf. And wheatear sealing. And AF speed. I like the aperture ring and weight of viltrox, my lenses weight more than this sony, so, it will be easier to suit up between on gimbal. But sony seems a better choice and a lens that can survive over time better than viltrox.

Thanks for sharing your feedback. Glad you enjoyed the Video
Would u trade a Sony 35mm f2.8 Zeiss for a Viltrox 35mm f1.8?
Love your background/backdrop Where did you get it from?
That's from Kate Backdrop ua-cam.com/video/HJppPSEnH5Q/v-deo.html
Wow, I guessed B for the Sony because it was so sharp!
B is actually Viltrox :)

One of may fav lens is 35mm so id go Sony all the way! Smaller lens makes the big difference
Samyang 35mm 1.8 or viltrox??
Viltrox colors are so beautiful
Thanks for video. The Viltrox has zero weather sealing. Sony or even Samyang 35 1.8 are better with those conditions.

Don't abt anyone else, but i find Viltrox colors (Jpeg out of cam) are so beautiful. Noticed same on 85f1.8 Sony and 24f1.8z Nikon
i get motion blur on viltrox 35 every shot
You may have a bad Viltrox example. You can already see that is not sharp without zoom inn by 100%.
Next Viltrox 24/1.8 vs Samyang 24/1.8 Please.....
Are you really interested in that ?
