This is great information. Instead of getting the run around from Navien and a plumber, and paying $200 plus.....I can now do this for the price of the part. Take note: When you go through a plumber, they add 25-40% to the price of the part. Learn and but your own parts.
We're plumbers & called Navian Support. They put us on hold, then said to down load an app to our phone, then hung up! I went to UA-cam & "VIOLA "! BOOM, here it is!😂 What did we do B4 the internet??
Thanks for the hint. I've got the oil on the bottom of the tank issues and the main board is bad. It's under warranty but the service isn't. If I can fix it I will. but, I haven't been happy with this. I had an old boiler that all i had to do was change the thermocouple once a year and it ran forever. why i changed for the savings is beyond me. Thanks for your help. I'll keep this in mind for the next problem. another issue was the error code 109 "clean the input air filter". It's so sesitive that only a small grass clipping will cause it to go into error.
Thank YOU Sir! Yes that part sucks unfortunately; ( the service not included on the warranty 🤦🏽♂️) . I haven’t had any other issues since /ever . Let’s keep eye 👁 on it 👍🤝☝🏼
Thanks for sharing .. I find this company very unhelpful.. they say to call the number and when you call they say to call a plumber .. and I constantly have problems with the unit .. whatever I’ve saved in efficiency I’ve paid in plumbing bills!!
That’s true , Unfortunately ! When I called for the first time that’s exactly what they told me . I would have to hire a certified plumber first in order for them to go through the issue . They wouldn’t speak to me or give me any directions but through a plumber 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️ So I replaced the water pressure sensor and it’s working fine up to this day ! 😎
Elvis Barbosa most the time these is caused buy bad quality of water, install a water softer and filtration and make sure you do a annually clean of the coils, specially for domestic hat water.
Good job getting it done. But just so everybody knows there were a few mistakes in the explanation and his Navien Combi is not piped correctly. There are actually two domestic water supplies to the unit one which can be piped directly into the units domestic inlet which is for the hot water heating and the other goes to the automatic water feed inlet which provides water fir the space heating. On the automatic water feed inlet you need a 9D backflow preventer before it goes into unit. This is so contaminated boiler water doesn't ever backup into domestic house water which is your drinking water and water you shower with. On his unit he has a automatic water feed and backflow combo before it goes into unit which is incorrect. There is already a automatic water feed built into unit you only need backflow on the line before it goes into unit. Basically he has a automatic water feed on the water line then another inside the unit. Many I stallers got this part wrong . Most are used to installing this on conventional boilers not knowing a electronic one is but in. So if the external one fails it will stop giving water to boiler for space heating.
The "pump drain plug"? I assume is for domestic hot water side ONLY & not the boiler side? I'd assume the only pump required would be for the boiler side to circulate the heated boiler water as the domestic side wouldn't need a pump because the domestic side already has city water pressure or well water pressure which has it's own pump to supply pressure? *Edit. : Nevermind... the exterior mounted circulator pumps move the heated/hot boiler water throughout the house. Im over thinking it w/o looking at my unit in front of me...*
I have a boiler navien 240/130 the domestic water shoots at me through the relief valve, when I open the cold water inlet water, do you have any idea why this is happening?
I have a Combi boiler that will not even turn on . I came back from a short trip and I can't even have it on. I had to add some water to the system when I came home , turned the unit and nothing no lights.
Brad Closs E351,E352,E353 those were the codes I was getting ( all of them has to do with water pressure sensor ) check your user’s manual for error codes !
Oh I see ! You meant error code ! 10E usually has to do with combustion air supply . So , check your air vent(s) . Probably it’s not getting enough of fresh air. ( check your air filter(s); it might be clogged up and must be cleaned . Hope this helps you. If that was the case , come here and leave your feedback , so others can be helped also . Thanks 🙏🏼🤝
Theres only one other video addresing this & the guy does not know about the "Pump drain plug" & says "water will shoot out everywhere when you unscrew the sensor so beware!"

Right? Bureaucracy upon bureaucracy!
I’m glad this info was helpful 🤜🏽🤛🏽🙏🏼and hopefully everything worked out well for you sir.
Not all of us plumbers. Some if us are honest & feel guilty about charging exorbitant prices. It's a non-money making trait.

So true. The last time a plumber came to replace a 3-way valve and motor, it cost me $850......Whatever I save in monthly heating bills, I paid now.
That’s was very nice explanation thank you so much.
You bet ! ❤️🤝😃

What does just 10E mean ?
Hey !!!
What are you referring to exactly ? so I can help you .
Oh I see ! You meant error code !
