Of course I did. I even tried two. After all that positive reviews about a year ago I managed to get my hands on both the cheap and the expensive ES-335 copies. Stainless steel frets, bone nut, compound radius roasted maple neck, amazing fretwork, mahogany body, bridge block that embarrasses Fender's, and good tuners. The only problem I've come across is some high frets but if you don't know how to level frets you can send it back and have them send you another until you get something you're happy with. I agree 100% 👍 Awesome specs on paper and very well executed 👌 (Well 2 out of 3 were for me 😜). If i liked the neck profile, I probably wouldn't "need" any other guitars. Didn't love the stock pickups though 😬
Thank ya very much mate 😃🙏 Nothing sad about not liking the EART - I'm not trying to sell anything (well... actually... I will be selling the EART eventually 🙈) . But what I mean is, I'm not trying to encourage anyone to buy anything - I just like trying different stuff out 😃 Very glad you're enjoying the vids tho mate - Cheers! 🍻
Lots of fun,Steve! I am now a member of the Brand Name Police whilst you remain the Guitar Fashionista. Weird, how they pay attention to the neck and almost forget the rest.
Unfortunately I don't have the guitar anymore or the specs - soz 😬 I sent the original pickguard to an eBay store "EarlPilanz" (i think) he advertises under Harley Benton pickguards. I mailed the original guard to him, he traced it and made a copy in B/W/B 3 ply.
10:47 The tremolo is very good, it just needs an adjustment and it will not go out of tune and it will play very well. These are my configurations with 10/46 strings in case it works for someone. The 2 posts must be perfectly balanced at the same height. I have them at 4.3mm. , the saddles are at 8.2mm high and the springs at the rear are at 15.3mm, that is my adjustment and it is very Jeff Beck style and it really doesn't go out of tune
Brilliant! Thanks very much for this mate 😎👌 I've got the guitar up for sale at the moment, but I'll try out your settings to sort the trem before I move it on. Thanks again - great info. Appreciated 👍
Thats a lot of geetar for the money, would prob swap the pups out for something else personally (and bugger about with some fancy push/pull & mini toggles hell yeah!!!) and possibly change the tuners for gotoh lockers. Never had much of a prob personally witg bone nuts, they tend to work pretty nice if cut right but ill give you graphtec are a nice n slippy nut ;) Bloody lovely finish on it though, would give a cort a good run for its money. Roasted maple=awesome smelling neck :) As always sir absolutely mega vid :) keeps us smiling whilst teaching us something :) Nicely done :)
Thank ya mate 😃🙏 Yeah it's a total beast for the price and a great candidate for modz! 😁👍 The finish can look great in the right light. Seen as phone cameras are better than human eyes these days - it picked up the blues really well, but in real life (or to my old eyes) it's a much darker deeper blue and hard to see the flame.
Thanks again for a great review. I like the guitar, especially the orange coloured model and like the mod with the black scratch plate. Some nice features such as the stainless steel frets and spoke-wheel for adjusting the truss rod. The only thing I am not too keen on is the shape of the headstock.
Thank ya Richard 😃🙏- That's quite a few people with the same sentiments Re the headstock shape. A lot of these brands seem to be aiming for the Suhr shape

@stevecassidyguitar ah I forgot to mention the first eart I got was completely broken. The body was split in half and also fingerboard was cracked.....I have got a replacement for free and got the broken one that I repaired and transformed by myself :)
@@danieledandrea4320 That's... not awesome that it was broken in half! 🙈 But it's awesome to hear they sorted you out in the same way. I thought the Styrofoam packaging it came in was a great idea in theory - clearly not in practice 🙈 I wonder how yours got broken so badly 🤔
I love your reviews Steve!! And these Eart Guitars really seem like great guitars!! Obviously you are a Strat guy and i am as well but i play a lot of sharp and pointy guitars because i play in MALEVOLENT CREATION!! I like picking up guitars like this and then hot rodding them with active pickups and possible even an Original Floyd Rose. When will Eart release new product? They been sitting on the same guitars for quite some time. I await the next Eart Review!!! Cheers!!!
I hear ya! 😃👍 Even though I didn't love the neck on this "strat-esque" version. Maybe I'd be more accepting on a headless 🤔 Have already been looking on eBay 🙈
Thank ya mate! 😀🙏 That's a tough one though - They're so evenly matched! I've only treid the Earts in this Vid and the Soloking Ms1 classic. I would definitely need to change the pickups in the soloking - they're really terrible. The Eart pickups aren't that great either, but way better than the solokings. If the rounded fretends are important to you, then probably the Eart. I think they're both gonna be on the heavier side for a strat around 8lbs. The soloking has a coil split switch. To be honest if none of the above is a big deciding factor for you -then just go for which colour/finish you like best 😂👍 I'd also throw the new Harley Benton ST modern into the mix - Slightly higher specced than these for around the same price, but flatter radius and I'd avoid the first run if I were you - some teething problems i think
Ffs sake I thought the glasses were real 🤣🤣🤣 great new channel. Really enjoy your style. 👏👏 Oh yeah the guitar, mint mehh, headstock shape, mehh. I have the HB fusion 3 in the blue maple top looks so much better than the Eart.
Nice review. Looks like a decent contender in a market where let's be honest, it's difficult to stand out since we are fairly spoiled for choice with HSS Strat clones. That said, the headstock shape is fugly.
Thanks mate! 😃🙏 Spoiled for choice is an understatement. It's amazing what's on offer for £300 these days. 🤯 I'm not a big fan of the headstock either - it seems a lot of these brands are aiming for the Suhr style headstock 🤷♂️
Have you tried a Shijie? I have a Shijie STE, an S style guitar. It's pretty amazing, but I would like less fret buzz and more tuning stability when I'm using the vibrato bar. That means that the guitar needs a good setup, but there are no good techs that I can trust anywhere near.
Thank you mate 😃🙏.I use a line 6 HX stomp XL modeller. Usually with a fender twin style amp for cleans with a wee bit reverb and the dirty tones are the same clean amp model with 2 stacked drives - a ts9 type and an OCD type 😃👍
Hey Steve! I'm in the US...bought a TL380, upgraded hardware and pickups and LOVE IT! However I've recently bought a DMX-9 and while it is a decent guitar, the neck is different and I don't like it as much...SO, finally to my question: I know you're in Europe but I'm curious where you returned the guitar to...Eart has given me a private residence in Texas to return it to, and it seems sketchy...I'd guess I may have some protection via Paypal, but not sure. Any advice?
Hullo mate 👋😀 I was very tempted by the TL380 before in Blue - just because I loved the colour! 😂 The DMX-9 appears almost identical to the NKC3 just with a rosewood board - great stuff! Anyway... unfortunately I don't think I can offer you much help 😬 I didn't get a chance to return the first faulty model to EART - they told me to keep it AND sent me a new one! 🤯 I ended up selling both of those privately and did the same thing with the 3rd one. So I've never returned any of them. Sorry I couldn't be anymore help. It does sound a bit suspect, but If you got the info direct from Eart then it "should" be correct right? 😬🤷♂ Best of luck with this one mate 🤞
I quite like the EART models, however, there are quite a few blingy features on this model eg. flamed top, SS rounded frets, tinted neck, but then it is let down by a bog standard black printed logo on the headstock and the cheapest of the cheap of string trees, it wouldn't cost much to make this look a little better! Bone nuts are a great material but no natural lubrication, when I realised I had run out of nut sauce after upgrading a plastic nut to a bone one I used an aerosol of PTFE on the nut slots that I found in my shed WOW! it made a massive difference, there is no way a string could ever bind up after a couple of sprays with this stuff, before spraying it I could feel the roughness when tuning the guitar but after the PTFE the strings slid through the nut with zero resistance, I would not recommend going out and buying it just for a guitar though as nut sauce is cheaper.
I'm not surprised Re the PTFE - I "think" that is part of the compound the Graphtech TUSQ XL is made of. A nice cheap upgrade if you've got the skills to do it (I don't... yet). Gotta be careful with that PTFE stuff tho - I seen that movie about it with the Hulk in it 😬
Great shout mate! Thank ya! I have the exact same one (hardtail version) Mines is 12" too. They are incredible necks, but just a wee bit different to my preference.
@@AndrewAHayes Heck yeah man!!!!! I want one of those!!! Only reason I chose the tele shape was due to the sold out ST style and mine popped on reverb with tiny ding. I love it. However I do need to figure out the wiring issue now putting in bridge it cuts the 80 percent of tone. Cheap switch. But still amazing axe!!!!!!!! I want an st style ....
Hey again! So I’ve decided to perhaps get the Boss Katana 100 MKII instead of the HX Stomp XL because my mom might kill me if she sees the price of it 😭 so I have some more money to put into the guitar! Do you think that I should stick with the Jet, or would a Harley Benton be more bang for the buck? I checked out one with SS frets like EART, and with the HSS set it has a push-pull split too! Also if you have any advice on modeling amps it would be great to hear! 🙏🏾
Oh and I’ve also looked on Facebook marketplace and two caught my eye: a fender player series strat for $300 and some fender strat with Seymour Duncan pickups for $425
Hullo! Nice one - I think an Amp is a way better choice for starting out than something like the HX as there is a bit more of a learning curve with the HX that might get in the way of your playing. I LOVE modelling amps - have had loads. I've never tried a KATANA funnily enough, but I think the general consensus seems to be that they are THE best on the market for the price. If you're not going to be gigging, the 100 might be a bit overkill for home use - maybe you could save a bit more cash and go for the Katana 50 mk2 EX instead? 🤷♂️ It sounds like you're talking about a Harley Benton Fusion - these are great guitars for the money too 😎👍 and $300 for a Fender player is a steal too! (Make sure it's definitely a "Player" and not an old MIM - the bridge and frets will give it away. Player should have 22 frets and a 2 point trem). Jet JS 400 is still MY top pick for the money - but that's just MY preference. Good luck and Have fun!😃👍
Would need more info on the Strat with SD's to know if it's worthwhile. Eg what are the Seymour Duncans? - They make great pickups, but may or may not be to your taste, and what model/series fender is it?
@@stevecassidyguitar I’ll definitely look into the 50EX, saving more money is always a good thing! As for the player series, I’m not sure if it actually is one since the headstock says squier on it
@@stevecassidyguitar also I’ll have to ask them what model it is, but they said the pickups are: Neck Seymour Duncan hot rail Middle Seymour Duncan JB junior Bridge Seymour Duncan humbucker distortion.
It’s a shame it’s not as blue as it looks in pictures as it would be one hell of a looker! I actually quite like the look of the tuners but would upgrade the trem. I like the sound of the neck and middle pickups but I’d probably end up upgrading the bridge pickup and putting a splitter in
If you don't like neck profile, but very happy with the rest, maybe recarve/reshape it to C? This should be much easier job than refretting. Also considering that neck is almost unfinished.
That's a smart move mate 😎👍 I did consider it. But I don't think it would just be a case of reducing material, iirc it felt like some areas needed built up to fill the hand better too. That would be way beyond my skillset though 🙈 This guitar has since moved on to a new owner who has no complaints about the neck feel. It's a subjective thing.
@@stevecassidyguitar Quite many videos on UA-cam shows that recarving process does not look complicated, but I would not dare to do it myself either. For a professional luthier with a good tool, this should not take more than 3-4 hours. But if you say that there is not enough material on the neck in some places, then all this does not make sense. I've been thinking of ordering blindly NK C3 for myself, but I also doubt that I’ll use to this neck profile and considered recarving in worst case. What do you think of fretboard compound radius? How does it feels?
@@goder18 If you can order from somewhere with a returns policy that would be ideal. My experience with the Neck profile and fretboard radius may not be the same as yours. I remember not believing it was 7.25" - 9.5" I thought it felt flatter, then I measured it - it's exactly as advertised 🙈👍

I jave had a few Maple neck Bolted (yes) to Mahogany bodies (Maple glue set to mahogany is not that stable) And well , the tone is better than Ash or Alder in general
As a Strat shaped object with 9,5" fret radius I'd say get a used (or even new one) MiM Strat, do the usual changes and get it pleked and refrette with stainless steel. You will stay under or close over 1000 GBP, I don't know the UK prices, but should be in this region. If you buy a used one you will of course save big time. Or just use a budget Strat and buy a new Fender neck. But I suppose the used one would be cheaper than a new neck... Then there is this more or less known UA-camr who also owns a guitar company. Rob Chapman. Check out the ML1X. No SS frets and locking tuners, apart from that you might like it. And very affordable. Refretting is also an option of course.
Great shout mate! I've never looked into the PLEK didn't know if it was an option in the UK. Luckily I have a few Fender Partscasters kicking around - So I could look into a refret. It's not something I could do successfully myself - the going rate would be £300+ in the uk these days. Which stings a bit, given you can get a Harley Benton Fusion with SS frets for that price. Just had a look at the ML1X - That looks very decent 🤔 Rich "The Novice Noisemaker" would approve 😃👍
As the Chapman necks are not for me, after what you're saying in this and other videos it might fit you very well. You maybe could get a refret job from a luthier instead and skip the plek thing. It's not that hard to do yourself also but the tools come in quite pricey. And of course if you happen to damage the fretboard you have a problem you don't want to deal with. In Germany you can get it done by high level luthiers with SS frets for about 250 €. If you get all the essential tools in acceptable quality (there are things that can be replaced by chinese stuff like fret rockers, rad gauges, fretboard guards, depth gauges, radius blocks, fret cutter, a notched straight edge, neck support/rest, fret hammer and even the fret bending tool) but you might pay up to 30-80 bucks per file and you need at least 2 different ones. I assume you probably own some of these tools already. All in all I'd say if you have 2 or more fret jobs to do it might be the right way to learn how to do it and buy all that stuff and what else you need (I can't remember everything, I have a whole cabinet dedicated to guitar tools in my living room) and do it yourself. If it's just a one time thing or your time is better spend doing something else. It might take you several hours to do your first neck, (which totally should be the one of the cheapest used guitar you could find, no more than 30 pounds) and to get the confidence to do it on on of your precious and beloved guitars.
@@tostrmofo6686 This a great insight mate - cheers you clearly know your stuff 😃 I don't have the tools or skills unfortunately... Not only that I don't have the time these days. I totally get why it costs what it does 😁👍
@@stevecassidyguitar Oh yes, the prices they take are fair, especially if you keep in mind that however professional you are accidents are going to happen and worst case a very pricey guitar might be damaged. Of coure they should have insurance for those cases and mostly will be able to fix it on the fly, but that also has to be considered I think. I do scratch my own guitars all the time, of course I would be much more cautious working on someone elses and being paid, but you never can guarantee there will be no little oopsies.
Lol. I mentioned above about the Harley Benton. I have the second run with the slight slant 3 way. The radius I swore was 9.5. I have loved the neck. I don't feel any difference from my strats fender and squier. But I'll be damned I looked them up and claims HB fusion T HH FNT now has 12" radius ??? I wonder if they changed it??? Or, I am a moron ?? Lmao!!! Excellent work. Wished I lived closer. Id swap to review these hahaha
By the way, you never comment on body shape and its comfort, only neck heel. On Eart web page body looks like less rounded contours and horns appear sharper than for example on Jet. Could you please comment on this?
Good "points" well raised sir 👍 I only notice when a guitar is not comfortable. So for example when there is zero comfort contours like a LP, Tele, 335 etc... I notice. But I've not came across a strat style guitar yet, that wasn't comfortable in comparison to the aforementioned guitars. I'm quite sensitive to fretboard radius and appreciate a good neck heel carve like you say. But I'm not as sensitive to the body contours where I can tell a noticeable difference. But... I will keep it in mind going forward - cheers 😃👍
I bet these come out of the same factory as jet and Fazley guitars. Me guessing here Btw great video, what’s the profile like, same as jet or different ?
Thank ya mate! 😃🙏 I can't guarantee it - but I reckon not the same factory. The neck profile is quite different to the Jet. It's compound and I struggle to put it into words. Thinner... and not as comfortable as the Jet (to my hand anyway)
Amusing and informative as usual. Given your problems with Eart and Fazley guitars either a) the guitar gods hate you or b) the industry needs to address a serious QA problem. You don't seem the sort of person anyone could hate so I think it must be b). (By guitar 'gods' I mean the one in guitar heaven, reached by a stairway, not their earthly impostors eg Clapton). Roasted necks are rapidly becoming the norm on budget(y) level guitars but we still get cheap tuners on the same guitars. It's usually the first thing people change - WE know this surely the makers know this too? It must be better for the maker, who would buy in bulk and be able to fit locking tuners at a fraction of the cost we have to pay to replace them? Sorry didn't mean to rant - you do that when you get old.
Ha! 😆 Mate your rant is hugely appreciated here - in fact... It's encouraged 😃👍 I agree with you 💯 some of the budget brands just need to look at their competitors..Harley Benton are leading the way with the specs and price points (other brands are getting close). But I've had equally bad experiences with Fender and Squier guitars since about 2021. They have some serious work to do to improve their QC post pandemic. With their brand names (and PRICES) better is expected. There ya go.... There's a rant right back at ya - I love being old! 🙈👍
The Eart i have is the E-3S and thankfully has no pickguard and a higher spec than this one with Alinco pickups, compound radius roasted maple neck and my only mod Locking Tuners are a must, the Eart ones work but look very strange. That green pickguard and ceramic pickups don't do the NK-C3 any favours. Replacing the pickups is easy, the pickguard would need a bit of work. I still think that a Harley Benton Fusion is a better choice, they come with locking tuners and an all important Ebony fretboard, i much prefer them to maple.
Wow! Just googled that Rainbow coloured one! (E-3S) 🤩👌 Please tell me you got that colour!?!? 😃 You're right - For the Money - I'd go for the Fusion too 👍
The one i have is an early sample in a Purple fade, the Rainbow one was released later and does look stunning, but they are now too expensive to buy one in the Rainbow finish. My Fusion is a mk2 and i find the toggle switch easier to use that a push/pull pot. I agree 100% 👍 Awesome specs on paper and very well executed 👌 (Well 2 out of 3 were for me 😜).
If i liked the neck profile, I probably wouldn't "need" any other guitars. Didn't love the stock pickups though 😬
I love the presentation, how refreshing!!....
Thank ya kindly mate! 😀🙏
Great review as always Steve, entertaining and factual. Must say I'm tempted with a JET JS-450, but sadly not the EART.
Thank ya very much mate 😃🙏 Nothing sad about not liking the EART - I'm not trying to sell anything (well... actually... I will be selling the EART eventually 🙈) .
But what I mean is, I'm not trying to encourage anyone to buy anything - I just like trying different stuff out 😃
Very glad you're enjoying the vids tho mate - Cheers! 🍻

Nice one mate - I've been getting curious about headless guitars recently. Might have to give one a go 😀👍
Lots of fun,Steve! I am now a member of the Brand Name Police whilst you remain the Guitar Fashionista. Weird, how they pay attention to the neck and almost forget the rest.

Aww thank ya very much mate! 😃🙏
Very kind of you comment and let me know 😎👍
Glad to hear you're enjoying the vids 😃🍻
Can you share the specs on the custom made pick guard. I was hoping a fender or Suhr might fit Thanks
Unfortunately I don't have the guitar anymore or the specs - soz 😬
I sent the original pickguard to an eBay store "EarlPilanz" (i think) he advertises under Harley Benton pickguards. I mailed the original guard to him, he traced it and made a copy in B/W/B 3 ply.
I own two. The terms are great. I use the bars on both with no issues. Use nut lube. No locking tuners. These are better than expected.
Nice one mate - either you got lucky or I got unlucky 😜
But yeah - Incredible guitars really 😎👌
10:47 The tremolo is very good, it just needs an adjustment and it will not go out of tune and it will play very well. These are my configurations with 10/46 strings in case it works for someone. The 2 posts must be perfectly balanced at the same height. I have them at 4.3mm. , the saddles are at 8.2mm high and the springs at the rear are at 15.3mm, that is my adjustment and it is very Jeff Beck style and it really doesn't go out of tune
Brilliant! Thanks very much for this mate 😎👌
I've got the guitar up for sale at the moment, but I'll try out your settings to sort the trem before I move it on.
Thanks again - great info. Appreciated 👍
Another great video🤘🔥
Aww - Thank Ya very much pal! 😃🙏
Thats a lot of geetar for the money, would prob swap the pups out for something else personally (and bugger about with some fancy push/pull & mini toggles hell yeah!!!) and possibly change the tuners for gotoh lockers. Never had much of a prob personally witg bone nuts, they tend to work pretty nice if cut right but ill give you graphtec are a nice n slippy nut ;)
Bloody lovely finish on it though, would give a cort a good run for its money.
Roasted maple=awesome smelling neck :)
As always sir absolutely mega vid :) keeps us smiling whilst teaching us something :)
Nicely done :)
Thank ya mate 😃🙏
Yeah it's a total beast for the price and a great candidate for modz! 😁👍
The finish can look great in the right light.
Come for the guitars, stay for the coolest accent ever... Man, now whenever I hear someone say "push-pull" I immediately think: "No, no! It should be pewsh-pewl" 😉
🤣🤣 Thank ya very much mate! Not knowing your accent, I can't hear the inner monologue correctly 🙈
Where are ya from? 😃

Very informative video and I am looking forward to the comparison.
A competitor in this category of guitars could be the Chapman Cap10 ML1, but it don't know whether those are still in the line-up of retailers.
Thank ya mate! 😃🙏
I was aware of the Cap 10 looks like an impressive spec list 😃👍
Just had a look at the Cap 10 ML1 it appears it's a discontinued guitar :(
and was at a higher price point originally too. Thanks again for the suggestion tho - hugely appreciated 😃
I have 2 eart, same neck profile(Equal on All model) but the Headless one . Love that profile!!!!
Ah... I didn't know all their necks were the same - good to know - cheers mate! 😃👍
You've always got the good info 😎👌
Most reviews and opinions I've heard are the same as yours - everyone loves that neck. I really wish I did too - spec-wise it's hard to beat for the price 👍👍
But it's awesome to hear they sorted you out in the same way.
Cheers!!!

I love to mod too 😁👍
I don't know anything about any new EART models or releases unfortunately - soz 😬
I quite like the look of the headless EART models.
I hear ya! 😃👍 Even though I didn't love the neck on this "strat-esque" version. Maybe I'd be more accepting on a headless 🤔
Have already been looking on eBay 🙈
Awesome sounds imho!
Thank ya mate! 😃🙏 It's definitely got potential 👍👍
I wish I could get on with the neck - it would be a keeper for sure
Great content, lad. What do you consider a better purchase EART or Soloking?
Thank ya mate! 😀🙏
That's a tough one though - They're so evenly matched!
To be honest if none of the above is a big deciding factor for you -then just go for which colour/finish you like best 😂👍
I'd also throw the new Harley Benton ST modern into the mix - Slightly higher specced than these for around the same price, but flatter radius and I'd avoid the first run if I were you - some teething problems i think
@@stevecassidyguitar Thank you so much for the detailed response, I'll definitely check to Harley Benton ST.

HB Fusion is a beast guitar - kudos my man!

I'm not a big fan of the headstock either - it seems a lot of these brands are aiming for the Suhr style headstock 🤷♂️
I’m with you on the headstock! 🤢
I have a headless Eart. One of the better guitars I have. Frets just flawless.
Totally mate - love the frets! 😎👌
Had a bit of a headless itch recently. Might keep an eye out for a used Eart - cheers! 🍻
@@stevecassidyguitar Keep an eye also on NK guitars and Acepro. Later seems like a diefferent brand from eart.
Tons of tones available and great tones on display, Sir. Speed knobs make everything better. I'm pretty sure it was Sir Mel O'Gibson that said that.
Ha! Brilliant! 😆👍 Thank Ya Dunsy! 😃🙏
Have you tried a Shijie? I have a Shijie STE, an S style guitar. It's pretty amazing, but I would like less fret buzz and more tuning stability when I'm using the vibrato bar. That means that the guitar needs a good setup, but there are no good techs that I can trust anywhere near.
I have not yet mate - They look very cool though. I remember watching a Darrell Braun vid about em a few years back 😎👌

Any advice?
Hullo mate 👋😀
I was very tempted by the TL380 before in Blue - just because I loved the colour!
Best of luck with this one mate 🤞
A nice cheap upgrade if you've got the skills to do it (I don't... yet). Gotta be careful with that PTFE stuff tho - I seen that movie about it with the Hulk in it 😬
Harley Benton Fusion t hh fnt i have. I believe it is also 9.5 and fanstastic frets SS....The neck is roasted and flamed under 400usd ❤
Sorry the newer models claim 12 inch radius. But mine truly feels more 9.5 to me. I could be wrong.
Great shout mate! Thank ya! I have the exact same one (hardtail version) Mines is 12" too. They are incredible necks, but just a wee bit different to my preference.
As long as it feels good mate - that's all that matters. 😃👍 On paper I should love the EART neck, but it's not for me :(
I have the Fusion T 25th Anniversary and it is now my living room guitar, it is that good!
It sounds like you're talking about a Harley Benton Fusion - these are great guitars for the money too 😎👍 and $300 for a Fender player is a steal too!
As for the player series, I’m not sure if it actually is one since the headstock says squier on it
@@stevecassidyguitar also I’ll have to ask them what model it is, but they said the pickups are:
Neck Seymour Duncan hot rail
Middle Seymour Duncan JB junior
Bridge Seymour Duncan humbucker distortion.
It’s a shame it’s not as blue as it looks in pictures as it would be one hell of a looker! I actually quite like the look of the tuners but would upgrade the trem. I like the sound of the neck and middle pickups but I’d probably end up upgrading the bridge pickup and putting a splitter in
All very smart mods my friend! 😎👌
I'd pretty much do the same if I was to keep it. I'd change the pickguard too though 😁

Tonewise, I suppose It's all subjective innit? I didn't know that about the stability concerns RE maple to mahogany glue though - Cheers mate 😀👍
Just had a look at the ML1X - That looks very decent 🤔
Rich "The Novice Noisemaker" would approve 😃👍
@@tostrmofo6686 This a great insight mate - cheers you clearly know your stuff 😃
I don't have the tools or skills unfortunately...
@@tostrmofo6686 I can completely relate to the oopsies 🙈👍

Good "points" well raised sir 👍
I only notice when a guitar is not comfortable.
Me guessing here
Btw great video, what’s the profile like, same as jet or different ?
It's encouraged 😃👍
I agree with you 💯 some of the budget brands just need to look at their competitors..Harley Benton are leading the way with the specs and price points (other brands are getting close).
But I've had equally bad experiences with Fender and Squier guitars since about 2021. They have some serious work to do to improve their QC post pandemic. With their brand names (and PRICES) better is expected.

That green pickguard and ceramic pickups don't do the NK-C3 any favours.
Replacing the pickups is easy, the pickguard would need a bit of work.

@@RonMorgan I changed the Humbucker. The Ceramic single coils are actually surprisingly good. But I changed them anyway because... I'm an idiot 😂👍
1:55 Is there a vegetarian option? 🤔
😂👌 Yes! Plastic, GraphTech, Brass, Steel, Ebony... But Graphtech is the best! (not sponsored!) 😜
@@stevecassidyguitar That’s nuts - so many choices!
@@derekclacton 🤣👌
Good video mate. Lots to like about this guitar imo. Especially if your not anal about feckin pickguards 🤣. I’m not a fan of the headstock tbh reminds me of the Fazley Phynica tbh (not for me) and it didn’t sound great, especially overdriven. But it looks good and stainless steel frets is killer. Good modding platform perhaps. For now I’ll stick with my Jet Js400 😎
Thank ya mate! 😃🙏 Yes indeed it's a great contender for modding. I wish I liked the neck - it could be near perfect with some mods. Starting with the pickguard of course 😂
@@stevecassidyguitar of course you’d have to start with the pickguard haha 🤣👏👏👏. Maybe a Charvel type with no pickguard? 😯 btw here’s my new Jet ua-cam.com/video/Ggvr9NTdNj0/v-deo.htmlsi=AwZWRc_T7e3tC1Pa
I listened until my ears hurt. I think its the pickups. The only explanation. Actually, yes, its the pickups. Got some fuzz? Lol😊
Apologies - I've not quite nailed the audio for UA-cam yet (I'm still learning 😬) and yeah, the dirty tones are quite over saturated to say the least 🙈
@@stevecassidyguitar completely understandable. My best video is from a phone. I don't make content.
@@ranman58635 All my vids are on filmed on my phone 🙈 I do have a decent interface for recording audio, but I've just not got it all dialled in optimally - yet.
Thanks thought mate! 😃🙏
Not Mel
Agreed! 😜
This is a bit of a running Joke I use in the vids. 😁 I like to pretend there are ridiculous signature models for celebrities (who don't even play the guitar). Then I use the wrong pictures and sometimes even spell there names wrong on purpose 🙈
I find it amusing anyway 🤡
Hold on here, you don't even need glasses, you just wear empty frames? Wtf kinda weirdo... this explains a lot about this channel.
This kinda Weirdo! 🥸👈
It's a looong story! But.. I've decided I'm gonna tell you it in this comment 😁
So my day job is working in a school (teaching guitar). I didn't want to be easily recognised by my school pupils on YT, as there are strict policies against communicating with pupils on social media outside of school.
So I did my best impression of Clark Kent with this Glasses, Hat, and bright colours combo, rather than my usual, bald heed, no hat, no glasses and wearing a suit and tie for work.
Anyhoo... many of the pupils in the school now know about the channel as does the school and everyone's ok with it, so the disguise is no longer necessary. But it has become a part of the channel "aesthetic" and.. I also think it's kinda funny so.. it stays 😂
But... that's not even the best part!
You'll love this 😁
Turns out I actually badly need glasses now! 😂
#Irony
One thing you totally over looked was the setup out of the box...... maybe you should buy some better spec's lol
I know it was a long vid 🙈 But... at 9:20 I mentioned I bought it used so set up out the box would be redundant. 😬 Also mentioned at 7:40 how the first one of these I got had issues out of the box, but the 2nd one was fine 👍
That's not Mel in mad max, that's Mel in Robin hood. Get your movies right, bro!
Well spotted mate 😁👍
It's a bit of a running joke, that I've been trying to make a "thing" here on the channel🤪
I like to pretend there are ridiculous signature models for celebrities (who don't even play the guitar). Then I use the wrong pictures and sometimes even spell there names wrong (for fun 🙈).
In another one I took Tom Selleck's head and put it on Joe Satriani's body and called him Burt Reynold's because they look a bit similar 🤡👍
This one is even more stupid 😜

Apologies in advance 🙈
I thought it was funny at the time, but I've had to explain myself more often than was worth the joke now 🙈
@@stevecassidyguitar ahhh should've known! Good one 🤣 I was like! That's Robin hood not mad max!
@@SamuelIrias It's also Kevin Costner and Russel Crowe later - Not even Mel 😜
My "jokes" have too many layers 🙈
@@stevecassidyguitar oh my. You're right. Is that brave heart? Nooo
@@SamuelIrias 😂👍
Kevin Costner no Mel
Well spotted mate 😜

Several vids now have the same joke, with ludicrous celebrity signature models, (that don't exist) using the wrong pics and sometimes spelling thier names wrong... for fun 🤡
Well... I find it funny anyway 🙈
