    Crazy to think Darnold is only beginning to build chemistry with Addison,Nailor and Hockenson. He's not just out there forcing passes to Jefferson.

    • @robe2504
      @robe2504 16 днів тому

      He didn't really though? I think that's a bit of a false narrative.
      Jefferson's targets have been very consistent all year. Sam made a couple of his worst throws and decisions in that one game vs the Jags - got an unlucky rebound, not his best placement on another throw, but he targeted TJ just as much in that game. Was he forcing the ball to him too?
      That rebounded pass to Jets was almost identical to the penultimate play in the Packers game. No one complains about forcing it to Jefferson when it works out.

    • @purplepunch4204

      @robe2504 Sure but the offense has come together and more players are contributing when defenses become too focused on Jefferson.

    Darnold throws such a tight spiral all over the field. I think that really helps the receivers. Even when he's a bit off target, the ball flies the same so they can anticipate it.

Kirk was so bad at it in 6 years with some bright spots in 2022, and people wanted to blame the line over and over and over again. Sam has looked elite in pocket presence and manipulation to assist his tackles and interior. Plus Aaron Jones has been so fricken good in pass protection. @loganjordan9752 17 днів тому +3

      O line is great, but he's also making throws that only Mahomes and Allen have the arm strength for. When the pocket breaks down, he also shows that he can move and make throws (like the game winner against Seattle) that only Mahomes, Allen, and maybe Herbert have the arm strength to make. We talk about a comeback story, but he's still young, and making throws that only 2 or 3 other qbs in the league can make...dude looks elite.

We have yet to play PHI, to beat DET, we lost to the Rams, and in my opinion, though I was wrong about the GB game, I think i'm calling this one correctly: this game is the Lions to win or lose, their offense is a force to be reckoned with. You must’ve not seen mullens and dobbs stink it up after a few good games last season. Completely disagree with the notion that any qb can thrive in this system. Is Sam being elevated by his system and weapons? Of course. Almost every qb in the league besides a few exceptions are. But to say anyone can do what Sam is doing is wrong. Just watching the throws, the pocket presence, the decision making is not regular “system QB” play.

If you have a legit 1st round talent why would you pay a 27 year old over the 21 year old and over adding two offensive lineman for 15 million each and a couple corners and a nose guard. The vikings are second in dead cap and will have over 100 million in cap space this offseason but we are low on draft capitol. Pretty sure the team would be better if Darnolds 40 or 50 million was replacing Bradbury and Engram and Risner and not just for next season but for the next 15 years. In 5 years I will still be a vikings fan and is Darnold at 32 going to have a better future outlook than a 26 year old McCarthy? That is hard to believe

Our team is much deeper now than last year and if McCarthy can give us more than Mullens gave us we will be better than we are with Sam.
