I'm not sure I ever heard you play jazz that way -- spectacular playing. Would love to hear more! Then the more Latin acoustic flavour. A flexible instrument indeed!
Hey my friend! It’s really great to see you here again! I’ve been getting back into playing some jazz again. I actually had a really fun jazz gig last week with a woman from Manitoba who was in town for a one off gig. Was a lot of fun to play/learn some new jazz tunes for that show. I’m thinking about venturing back into the world playing a few jazz gigs on the side here and there. It’s been years. I appreciate your kind words on the playing. Your comments on the Latin side of things makes me wish I had played a Joe Beam tune in this video. I’ve got to relearn some of those again. Lol
@@LucasHaneman You are such a joy to listen to. It also takes me back to when, my best friend, your mom and I used to listen to you and your dad playing. So pleased you kept playing and have developed into a wonderful and sensitive guitar musician. Your mom would be so proud. 😍
@@gladysdecelles5682 aw Gladys, that’s so sweet of you! My mom was such a sweet sweet woman and always put up with all the noise and chaos when it came to me learning how to play music. I remember your trips to Ottawa back when I was a kid. My mom always enjoyed her time with you so much!
Oh Yeah! After a day of running around like a mad fool, putting on my headphones and listening to this was awesome... so nice to chill to your great playing... fingerpicking, jazz, Willie... Great guitar... sounds fabulous... really nice mellow tone. And walnut, who'd a thunk it?
Thank you so much! Yeah, it’s quite a versatile Guitar indeed and I know, the walnut thing surprised me too. It’s definitely. A lumber that hasn’t really impressed me in the past, but on these Furch guitars, it’s something special
Oh, that’s nice of you! You know what maybe it was Nick Drake inspired. I definitely had a Nick Drake phase at one point in my life. I’ve had lots of phases L O L. Sometimes I just love playing the guitar in dropped D tuning, other open tunings, just attempting to play some hopefully unconventional cord changes. Thanks so much for watching!
As much as I love working with walnut, I am not too fond of it in a guitar. Furch seems solid with their quality from the ones I've played, if a bit on the heavily built side of things. Cool demo, and nice tunes.
It’s interesting that you mentioned that. The first few guitars I played with Walnut I really really did not like at all either. I just found that they sounded flat and kind of lifeless. I’ve been pleasantly surprised though by these Furch guitars with the walnut back sides. The 12 string from a few weeks back, especially. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re doing a satin finish so the guitars sound pretty open right away considering the fact that they are factory made guitars and all.
