Hey Jacqueline! Thank you so much! I'm in Toronto, and our Thanksgiving was early October, but I hope you have a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you if you are celebrating. 💕
If only we knew then what we know now lol. *sigh* maybe in another life time! because the grown woman body holds onto weight like her life is depending on it. 😂
I'm so jelly! Rapture is the only one I'm missing! Loving your collection! Thanks so much for sharing! I loved R&B Pink too- she has an amazing voice! AGREED! Missy E was definitely the IT GIRL. I loved Hot Boyz so much growing up. Goodies is still my jam.
Thank yoooou! I love Missy Elliott so much! If vinyls weren’t as expensive as they are, I would have way more. But I have to pace myself. There is a Luther Vandross greatest hits coming out later this year and I can’t wait to get it. I put it on my wish list for Christmas lol. He is my favourite male vocalist of all time. Goodies will forEVER be a bop. 💁🏾♀️
I am currently at work but once I get in my vehicle 🚗 I will be putting that drop out album on and listen to some Jesus walks and workout plan….. free99 lol 😝
i saw your thumbnail and got super excited!!! i love your collection! love the education collection (miseducation, college dropout, late registration) and love miss kelis! where do you shop for your music in toronto?
Heeeeeeey! You're the first person to express interest in my collection. Thank you for coming back to check it out. I didn't even put two and two together with the 'education collection'! That's actually pretty cool. Thanks for pointing that out! I really love all three albums. I think The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill is one of the greatest albums of all time. I get my vinyls from a number of different places. In the city, I shop with Sonic Boom and Pop Music. Sonic Boom has a bigger overall collection, but Pop Music service is *chefs kiss*. I've also purchased records online from Urban Outfitters, and Amazon is usually a last resort lol.
oh wow! i’m glad to support fellow yawdie and canadian in the booktube space. i live in montreal but my bro and his family live in toronto so next time i visit i will try to check one of your spots. keep the vids coming, sistren… 🇯🇲🇨🇦📖📚✊🏽❤
15:17 I'm wondering what makes Ms. Hill problematic? Honestly I don't feel she gets the recognition she deserves. When most ppl speak of Female Rap, they talk about Lil Kim, Nikki, Missy, etc. Ms. Hill gave us all the hip-hop feels without degrading ourselves.
Hey Shear! Thanks for this comment. You are 100% right; her music is uplifting and not degrading, which I love about her. Problematic may not have been the right choice of words to describe Lauryn Hill. It was definitely a slip of the tongue when making that statement. I was thinking back to her tardiness with arriving to shows late, which I have personally experienced but that didn’t warrant me calling her problematic. Sorry about that! I do appreciate the question/callout because I would hate for my statement to come across the wrong way, especially being that there are a few people mentioned in this video that could/would probably fit under the ‘problematic’ category instead.
@turningpageswithdom nah hun lol it wasn't anything like that. I don't come for ppl...lol I was asking because maybe I missed something cause you know Ms. Hill did take us through somethings with the breakdown on stage, etc. 😂 so I didn't know if maybe that was it. Don't second guess yourself. It was me needing clarification. I love your videos 🥰🥰🥰 be blessed.
I was just talking to my aunt about our influence in dang near every genre of music. We really are the influence. I think I saw either an interview or a documentary on Pink years ago, and if I'm not mistaken, they mentioned she was originally in an R&B girl group, and I think when the group disbanded, the label pushed her as a solo R&B artist. She 'apparently' didn't want to create R&B music. Makes sense with the drastic shift in direction with her second studio album.
Hello Dom, you have a very nice vinyl collection, and you certainly love your 2000s R&B 🙂
Thank you! 90s/00s R&B is my absolute favourite. 😊
Hey hey 👋 hope all is going well. Loving the collection 📀💿❤️🔥 have a great day and happy holidays 🦃

R & B Pink used our 🤎 community to gain fans, then dropped us like a bad habit for the Pop Tart charts.
