Bobby Vee Live - Coatbridge, Scotland 1974

A live recording from Bobby Vee's UK tour in 1974. It's from a seldom referenced period of Vee's career when, in the singer/songwriter mold of the era, he was writing and performing his own songs from the critically lauded 1972 album NOTHIN' LIKE A SUNNY DAY, a number of covers from the likes of Bob Dylan, The Allman Brothers and Eagles, and a cross section of his early 1960s Brill Building era hits. The fidelity of the recording is far from pristine but it's a rare record of a fascinating and beloved chapter in Vee's career. A chapter that in his words "Allowed me to re-connect with my musical self."
I hope to make this the first in a number of Bobby Vee live concert audio videos, hopefully one from each decade of his career. Hope you enjoy this first one, the elegant piano AND swirling B3 organ, Vee's rich and confident vocals, the bell bottom pants, and lest we forget ... THE EPIC BEARD !
