as a Californian, who has been digging bottles for 60+ years I don’t understand why you don’t have more subscribers Many other channels, including some in the mid west east and south post digs of stuff that they claim is valuable for headlines, which are 50 Cent items, at least many times in your videos you are bringing up stuff that is worth collecting
Heck....if yall don't want the 1900s bottles I'll take em off your hands. Lol. I pretty much collect anything older than me. 😄 so.....pre 80s. Amazing finds. I could never dig that far down in the SC clay.
great stuff,im in north west uk and have 3 of the hoods sasparellas and small ones from london but to my surprise the larger 2 from mass .worlds smaller n you think eh.
My son and I stopped in on Jimmy when he was digging that hole the first time. We had to dig it super wide cause the ground was so unstable. Pulled out a tiger whiskey and a continental ceramic sample whiskey mini jug. When we got down around 6’ we hit a cave within the hole and it got too dangerous to go any further. Great to see what was down there! 👍🏻
I saw a broken Lashs like that at 'Iwilei. I have Hawaii's only known Weir jar here, 1/2 gallon size, top & metal latch. From Kona, Kealekekua, where Capt. Cook got himself killed. The jar is c1915. I found a bunch of master Inks not far from the 1848 Pohukaina school. I still have a few. I bought a square glass masterink with the "G.E." logo embossed, used for recording instruments in sugar mills &c. The dates on those nickels wore off easily. The early 20th Century saw a few bad coin designs. I've dug two standing Quarters, both no date. A well worn seated Quarter is 1872, my age record, beating out an 1879 Victoria Penny. I "Plucked" my first Hawaiian med from the wall of an exploratory trench under a former bunker fuel facility. 1/2 oz " Hollister Drug Co. L'td. Honolulu H.I. Fort Street Honolulu H.I." It is a Whitall-Tatum 1892 des. pat type. I saw the base and wiggled it out of the wall & was stoked. On my first day on site I found a Peacock cap and dug a Fountain Mineral, Hawaii's only pictorial tooled Soda. It depicts a Fountain nymph spouting water from the Trevi Fountain in Rome. Now I have two etched syphons from them. The company was merged and renamed often before winding up as Coca-Cola bottlers of Hawaii (Oahu). Robert Rycroft founded it in the 1880s. That was my best Hawaiian med and Hutch site, and for a while my oldest date, 1879 Victoria Penny.
Frohe Weihnachten Flasche Ned! Der Produktionswert Ihrer Flaschenextraktionsvideos ist fantastisch! Die bodenlose Salongrube war fantastisch. Frohes Neues Bot-Jahr!
Bott Ned, Great video, unfortunately such a deep hole with sparse findings. There were a few sweet botts, too bad it' was headless. It would have been amazing if whole. The ink was nice as well as the ribbed sauce. You're a great story teller. I just love all the educational info that your videos provide. My favorite story was the person throwing the bottle off from the light house and you finding it. I bet you have many more juicy tales. Feliz Navidad Ned. May you have a blessed 2023.
So many of the farms in Nebraska had a hole filled with trash from the farmer before him and the farmer before that one. Many times it was a gully filled with trash. Farms at that time were handed down through the generations. I remember seeing a few. Why go to a dump when you had land! .... once we were out in the sticks cutting firewood. We found one. If I had thought about it. I should have taken a shovel along.
I have a Lash's bottle that's still sealed and obviously full. I was once pulling bottles out of a stream. First of all my name is Everett Menard. The first bottle I pulled up said Menards liniment. The second bottle was Everett shoe dressing. Do this day at 60 years old I can't believe that happened to me but it's a true story. I have thousands and thousands of bottles that are unbelievable. I could do this all day everyday
Hello 👋 from New York You Guy's found some amazing finds my favorite definitely was all the clay pipe Stems When I find them at my dumps I dig I Cut them and make them into beads for necklaces do you Keep them and if you do could you sell them to me so I can use them in my crafts to make necklaces I would really appreciate it 😌 Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Find Next Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 🎅 🤶🎄🎁☃️🦌⛄️🙏
My first word was “bottletop”. First bottle I found on a beach when I was 5. By elementary school I was digging them in the bushes at recess. By middle school I was digging deep holes into the 30s-40s landfill after class at the edge of the school grounds !!
Well, showcase lady in the elegante` dress classes up the joint real nice! Ned, if you could dig just one ultimate bot, what would that bot be? Merry Christmas!
She appreciates that comment ! My ultimate bott would be a colored pontiled medicine blown at the baker n cutting glass and pickle factory in SF 1859..!!
I love them round holes! Especially when the bottom drops 25 feet from underneath you and you end up pinned down in water up to your chin and you are digging alone! It's worth every penny that you get from a nice mint Lash's bitters and Hoods that you find floating in the water next to your head! Sorry...flashbacks. Does make me wonder what would be further down that hole. Also makes me wonder if you made it back to the other hole you filled up last episode?
I've never dug a well or privy, only Old farm dumps, and I never thought about the hole opening up underneath you while you're digging. Holy crap. That could end real bad.
I've been digging for 30 years around Akron Ohio and I've never found a stoneware Akron ink bottle. Super cool any chance he'd be willing to part with it?
The Ohio bottle book I have is from 2007 it lists four Merrill stoneware inks. The one you found has three different sizes listed 6 in 7 1/2 and 9 in tall. Name impressed with oval outline poor spout 35 to 45 bucks. Again this is an old book so it may be worth more. They made a 28-in tall cylinder 5 gallon inch with a pour spout if you find that one it's worth big bucks.
Those damn goathead thorns are awful! The plants don't die because they are hella resilient, so you have to dig 4 feet down and clear the entire area 6 foot around the plants. And they have a poison on the thorn that can cause burning and pain for days!
Cheese is the destroyer of all sensibility leaving you a all black rainbow over all holes.. Alright im going to work So i can help this bottle dude neddy, years later in two four..u tube gonna owe ya my money for watching till the end with AD& the HD my two tin brothers..we just starting digging this past year..far back as ive gotten with a bottle is the 60s.....1960...m I chigan just cant be the west ever, can get ya snow in a bottle any ole time..now im late.9 months later......whos this?
That's not deep,..we've dug many 25-30ft here in Memphis Tennessee,..we used a tripod system with a pulley ,rope & 5gal bucket to extract as we dug down,....one bucket at a time,....& at the end ,.climb out on a chain ladder
I was told the Chinese dig round holes because demons live in corners, that's how you knew the mine shafts where Chinese on the gold fields of Australia 🇦🇺
When you find british bottles, when it has derby you say it as darby,we do not say the e,it's just like leicester,we say that as lester, unlike america where you say a lot of the leters,we don't
This is my first time watching your videos and I feel like I need to say something. Because of your unnecessary bad language and using Gods name in vain I won’t be watching any more. It’s sad when you can’t talk without that kind of language. Think about what you are doing.

Thanks ! You can DM me on Instagram and I can save the future ones I find for you ! @bottlened_digs_the_old_west
Ned, We're waiting to see you guys on the history channel
Appropriately named! Chip the bottle chipper.😂
3in 1 means ‘clean, lubricate, protect’ 👍
you should think about a go pro,you can get a harness to hold it why you dig, keep your hands clear, better than a phone.
Three in one refers to the product being able to” clean, lubricate and loosen”

Okay I’ll start putting them aside !! Merry Xmas !!
What year did you start bottle digging Ned and how did you get into the hobby? What was your first dig and what did you find?
My first word was “bottletop”. First bottle I found on a beach when I was 5. By elementary school I was digging them in the bushes at recess. By middle school I was digging deep holes into the 30s-40s landfill after class at the edge of the school grounds !!
Do you sell the old bottles on ebay and etsy? Other bottle diggers do.
Gotta get on that ! You can always dm me on Instagram if you see anything you like; @bottlened_digs_the_old_west
Well, showcase lady in the elegante` dress classes up the joint real nice!

Yesssss!!! I had a death well drop out 30 feet and had to climb out on a rope. Round holes have never looked the same since then...!
I've never dug a well or privy, only Old farm dumps, and I never thought about the hole opening up underneath you while you're digging. Holy crap. That could end real bad.
Suspenders clip?
I've been digging for 30 years around Akron Ohio and I've never found a stoneware Akron ink bottle. Super cool any chance he'd be willing to part with it?

Just let the older men take care of the work of the remainder of the 6' hole that they already dug while you watched? 💪
😂 I only documented 3/4ths of that dig given that holding a camera while I’m doing my portion of the shoveling could make viewers a little dizzy 🥴
Those damn goathead thorns are awful! The plants don't die because they are hella resilient, so you have to dig 4 feet down and clear the entire area 6 foot around the plants. And they have a poison on the thorn that can cause burning and pain for days!
The ones on that lot are deep in the ground now !!
Buffalo Brewing Co. from the banks of the Sacramento river in Sac.
be glad you only have roaches there - Brandon in Alabama was pulling pottery out of the river and they were covered with loads of leeches ...
Cheese is the destroyer of all sensibility leaving you a all black rainbow over all holes..

Not gonna lie…filling in was at least as much fun as digging lol
Awesome BottleNed
I haven't seen it yet and I'm excited
