Idc what anyone say, waboku is a timeless classic. For everytime someone tells its a bad card, all i have to bring up is the fact they skip turn when it flips and it saves my games TO THIS DAY!
It's such a great help to War Rock not only for defense, but also offense as you can use it on your battle phase to attack with your weaker one and get the whole battle phase effects off for the stronger ones.
It and Threatening Roar are currently seeing a resurgence on Master Duel as a counter to Tenpai, which is even more of a headache in MD than in the TCG with the best of 1 format
Wouldn't threatening roar be preferable in almost all situations? They can still battle to trigger most effects. The only downside i can think of is that if you chain roar to an attack you're SOL, but that's solved by shotgunning in BP anyway
@ *makes a monster unaffected by traps, attack through TR* Also waboku shields me and monsters and damn near guarantees me a turn unless they burn, but they can also burn with TR. I feel like its preference but waboku just gets overlooked
As a Dinosaur enthusiast, I have to mention Pankratops can be a turn 1 disruption, since Petitranodon can special summon it from the deck. I think it's also worth mention that D.D Crow can hit *anything* in the graveyard, not just monsters, has no once per turn, and has no specific trigger for use. If there's a graveyard and Crow's in hand, it's live.
and this is why my dinowrestler-focused dino build has 2 petiteranodon and 3 babycerasaurus my end board ends on dragoon, uct and dolkka with the pank interruption live if petiteranodon is in my hand
0:03 Idea to make a combo hand trap version of this and “hallowed life barrier”: _Emissaries of Reconciliation_ Counter-Trap _If your opponent Targets a monster you control for an attack: Discard this card, or 1 other card if this card was Set before activation; You take no battle damage this turn. Your monsters cannot be destroyed by battle this turn._
Evil Twin GG EZ isn't even that great, though. Sure you can negate a destruction effect, but it's really clunky to use since it's a continuous trap and not a continuous spell. The deck space is usually better spent on consistency tools.
Waboku Hum and the Legendary Card is only used once by Anzu/Tea Gardner, This card also appeared much before the Lilyrusk assemble Nightingale showed up.
Pankrotops has all the versatility. Extra monster on the field, when you needed 2 monsters to start a halqi play or link play Quick destroy any card to deal with a floodgate And a 2600 beatstick
26:32 So, fun fact… “Dark Ruler Ha Des” is in A LOT of card arts… Idea to make a retrain of him that combines the effects of many of those cards into him: _Renewed Archfiend Ha Des_ (DARK) Level 6 Fiend/Effect _Negate the effects of monsters destroyed by battle with Fiend or Zombie monsters you control. If this card is targeted by your opponent for an attack or card effect; you can Change the attack or effect target to another correct target. You can use each of the following effects of “Renewed Archfiend Ha Des” once per turn (Quick Effect). Destroy 1 monster from your hand or field; Gain LP equal to its total ATK/DEF. If an opponent's monster declares an attack: Target that monster; negate the attack, and if you do, gain Life Points equal to its total ATK/DEF. You can pay 500 LP, then each player targets 1 card in their opponent's GY; banish those targets. Target 1 Fiend or Zombie monster in your GY; banish face-up monsters you control whose total Levels exactly equal the Level of that monster, then Special Summon it. If a Fiend or Zombie monster you control battles, during the Damage Step: Pay LP in multiples of 100, then target the opponent's battling monster; that opponent's monster loses that much ATK/DEF, until the end of this turn. If this card you control is removed from the field by an opponent’s card or effect; Special Summon 1 “Berserk Dragon” from your hand, deck, GY or Banishment, ignoring its summoning conditions._ ATK/2450 DEF/1600 Let’s make a game of this: *_Name me ALL the cards that this card’s effects are based around. Hint; Some of these are from anime exclusive cards._*
I ate ship to a double Prohibition opening blindfiring against 2 generic meta cards (Maxx C and Ash Blossom, both in my opening hand) one time. I couldn't even be mad.
Nice vid! As far as a suggestion perhaps a failed archetype video about Dinomist? They look really cool and MD's lore about them is interesting, but I never see anyone use them. :')
I don’t know if I would say DRNM has been powercrept. It’s more like it’s less suited for the meta, but it has a ton of more use cases simply by being a no setup no card required slap down going 2nd. When the meta shifts to Dies Irae and must negate quick effects being less prominent, or most on field monsters, DRNM may very well be better than Droplet in side decks just because you don’t have to minus yourself to break the board.
It’s amazing looking how some of the cards listed in this video are actually still viable options decks can utilize, even if they have better card variants that power creep them on paper.
While I find myself main decking the Kashtiras more, when I can’t main deck either, I find Pank making it into more side decks. Not only is the additional attack perfect for dealing with exactly a 3 Mat Appo back when that was legal, or right now mostly the Bystials, especially Druiswurm, but it’s quick effect pop chaining to IP before SP can’t hit the field is so useful going 2nd.
I'll never forget when Pot of Desires came out. I got back into Yugioh, and I hated the card. Fast forward almost 7-8 years later, I tell myself, "bro, you get to draw two". I don't hate it so much anymore
I'd add it in a banish deck (unless thunder dragon), but knowing my luck I'd banish the three Gren Majus. And also the three Golden Homonculi if I dared to run them.
15:29 So “Macro Cosmos” here is tied to “Helios - The Primordial Sun”, whom on it’s own is just a worst version of Gren Manju… Idea to make a retrain of Helios: _Helios - The Sapphire Sun_ (LIGHT) Level 4 Pyro/Effect _This card's name becomes "Helios - The Primordial Sun" while in the hand, Deck, GY, or on the field. If this card is Special Summoned by the effect of “Macro Cosmos”; Add 1 “Helios” monster from your deck, GY or Banishment to your hand. Gains ATK/DEF equal to the number of banished cards x 100. While you control this Face-up card, Face-up “Macro Cosmos” you control are unaffected by Opponents cards and effects. If this card is Banished; Activate 1 “Macro Cosmos” from your hand or Deck.”_ ATK/? DEF/?
I genuinely don't understand how the duel logs can release such high quality videos on the daily with full subtitles and editing and all. And still make them fun to watch.
30:58 Idea for a cheeky joint “Harpie” and “Dragonmaid” card that’s supposed to be a “Harpie” that can turn into a “Harpies Pet Dragon” _Harpie’s Duster Dragonmaid_ (WIND) Level 7 Dragon/Effect _This card's name becomes "Harpie’s Pet Dragon" while in the hand, Deck, GY, or on the field, but is still also a “Dragonmaid” card. “Harpie” and “Dragonmaid” monsters you control gain 300 ATK/DEF for each Face-up “Harpie” or “Dragonmaid” monster you control. If a “Harpie” or “Dragonmaid” monster you control destroys an opponent’s monster by Battle, or Directly Attacks your opponent; Destroy all Spells/Traps your opponent controls. During the End Phase (Quick Effect): You can shuffle this card from your hand, Field or GY into your deck; Special Summon 1 Level 4 or lower “Harpie” or “Dragonmaid” monster from your hand or Deck._ ATK/2000 DEF/2500
Saying That Waboku has a simple effect is like saying Necrovalley has a simple effect. Some people stopped playing it simply because the judge calls and ruling nightmares at regionals.
Tenpai could've been mentioned explicitly on a bunch of these spots: Waboku is a great answer to them, especially if the deck can search it. Though Dimensional Barrier is a lot more powerful generically. DD Crow is great against Tenpai compared to the other GY hand traps because it can stop them from summoning Transcendent Dragion during MP1 even under Sangen Summoning by interrupting the Bident/Fadra reborn. Obviously they can't run DRNM and need to use Droplet.
Also Duel Log i just saw that the other cool thing about DD Crow banishing thing is that it says 'card', which meant it can also remove spell and trap at will too in case an archetype rely heavily so much on their spell or trap play. Even better if said card is limited or semi limited, making just 2 crows instead of 3 banishing those limiteds even more rewarding! If their spell or trap play important card is removed, they might as well surrender there! Truly a good classic card.
34:58 Idea for a new “Pot” card that can be used to tempt the users opponent: _Pot of Temptation_ Quick-Play Spell _Either Player can negate and banish cards from the top of their Deck Facedown in multiples of 2 and/or Extra Deck each; They Draw 1 card for every 2 cards they banish by this effect. For the rest of the turn after this card resolves, Players who drew cards with this effect cannot Draw any cards by card effect or for the rest of this turn, and also, cards cannot be added from from their Deck to their hand. Neither player can activate cards or effects in response to this card's activation. If either player has no cards in their hand, you can activate this card the turn you set it._
@ The thing is that BOTH players can do so, and that whoever does is otherwise locked out of getting more cards in their hand by card effects for the rest of the turn.
I wonder, are there 10+ cards in the game that has an effect that "rewrites" effects of other cards? Like an example being "Number 75: Bamboozling Gossip Shadow" having the text "...the activated effect becomes "both players draw 1 card." That would make for an interesting top 10.
I still love pot of avarice, Modern game is so fast that you drop huge pile of bodies on grave so easily. Especially being able to recycle extra deck monster WHILE HAVING A 2 DRAW? Yes please.
Just realize that since the release of Little Knight in masterduel, I haven't seen even one time of the classic Unicorn to Accesscode Talker OTK. I remember many times I could win with Unicorn and Accesscode Talker but I only have Litle Knight in extra deck. The room in extra deck is so limited. I think because of this, the usage of Accesscode Talker also dropped due to Little Knight.
I knew prohibition is strong card but lately im just using it to declare GG EZ no matter win or lose. I feel like 1 card less didnt change much nowadays
I have to say this is probably the first and only yugituber I've seen that discussed Desires intelligently and correctly. Most over hype the card acting like the cards you need will always be in the two you draw and not in the ten you banish. Duellogs here understands that Desires works in certain deck but not all.
Pankratops was the 3 mat appolousa killer. Summon it, attack, continue your plays in mp2 unbothered. Also due to the way it activates its effect, pank can out a skill drain
Little Knight gets beat by a Blue Eyes deck with the trap card that summons it and prevents it from targeted effects. I rather not use Little Knight for that reason.
Let’s not forget that DD Crow doesn’t even need to hit monsters; it can hit spells and traps. Opponent wants to transaction rollback a strong trap? Banish that trap before it can resolve.
I'm surprised Mystical Space Typhoon isn't on this list. It's been around since the beginning or very nearly, and despite the fact that it's been powercrept by other, better methods for clearing backrow, it still sees use.
Pankratops combine with fenrir is equal boardwipe if play it correctly by special fenrir 1st and special summon pankratops as long opponent control more monster then you. Your can remove opponent total card around 3 to 4 card which is huge
Can You do a top 10 Yugi's forgotten or least used cards? Cards that were barely used and are barely remembered. (I.e. Des Volsgalph, Spirit of the Rock, Glifore, Soul Relay, the tricky, etc.)
I had a running joke, but also semi serious when I would play waboku. I would declare "WABOKU, MO'FOCKU" and it followed up in unison "Best card in the game"
Ah. Yes. Waboku. That card was one of the many staple trap card for the poor turds like me back in my kid days. These are the list of..I guess..poor "kids" staple trap cards back in the old days. The list will be in random order. 1. Waboku. 2. Trap Hold. 3. 7 Tools of the Bandit. 4. Magic Jammer. 5. Reinforcement. 6. Just Dessert. 7. Castle walls.
Player with the latest broken bossmonster, indestructible and can't be removed from the board by any means : I swing for 8 gazillion damage Me: Magic Cylinders
They are like forbidden droplet. I only have one because of how much it cost to get ahold of but when I do get ahold of the card I tend to throw away. A trap that likes to be in the graveyard monster that wants to be in the graveyard and even a spell that wants to be in the graveyard. Because once they go there I can use them. Once I'm able to of course throw in the once per turn, you can do this, especially some of that monster from the graveyard through a trap that can special activate from The grave so I like Like it under the right circumstance , if I can throw a few cards That can act. Ivate from the graveyard later down the road. Then yeah, forbidden droplet I'd run 3 of them hard core. I'd still run dark ruler. Because because I mean it's a it's A. It's a card that still fits within the same niece category. Almost I'd say the only way it like you said can be counted by Solomon. Any other car that will connect gates.Suchst debunk is a counter trap that can negate a car defect from the hand including a monster.I also like grand horn of the heaven. That's a quick counter trap that gets rid of a special Extra deck monster It's not infinite impermanence, but let's face it. You throw that on the field. It's like a stay on there. Anyways, you're gonna flip it. You're gonna wantny use it and at least you don't have to wait super long because as soon as you set it, if your opponent triggers an effect that matches that category from their hand boom, you have an instant negate. Especially with the bunk I throw the bunk in there.I throw grant grand horn in there.I'll throw a Solomon there.I love the solomon cards Don't give me wrong, I run infinite impermanence. It's a good staple
That SP Little Knight example shows yet again that the real problem with Yu Gi Oh is players being too thirsty for upgrades. That's also a problem with Magic by the way. If any playerbase would just hard boycott (including somehow forcing the secondary price to tank) a release that they think is going too far in terms of powercreep then the publisher would be forced to think of a different path for the next expansion.
One day I saw a video were the opponent destroyed Eveling match, no they didn't negate jus destroyed, making the field empty when the effects resolved.
@@ChildrenOfOwls I mean, yeah I can play these since I play Centur-Ion, but Crow is more flexible than the other two cards ( DShifter sometimes back fires, so I don't want to take the risk )
Just what are you smoking? Waboku sees no competitive play nowadays. Very rarely you might see Paleozoic run it, but that deck isn't even good right now even with its new side support. And Shifter hasn't been power crept at all. You casuals need to stop talking.
With prosperity the opponent can also judge better whether to negate prosperity or leave the negate for smth else cuz he can see the excavated cards, no?
Another use of unicorn that sometimes gives it an edge against S:P that its better against TTT, a stolen S:P will still have its effect to worry about, and using its effect to "dodge" is also a -1 because TTT is a non-targetting steal
I got anxiety and had a panic attack without that crucial intro. Like it comes in too fast, doesn't ease you in. I got really unsettled and cried and had go back out and hyperventilate go catch my breath before watching it again :(
@@magicsack First, very mature mocking other peoples tastes, so, thank you for showing the class how not to engage with opinions you don't agree with.
No it dosnt
@@Bob12649 mst was seeing use in side decks when mystic mine was taking over.
@ that was 2 years ago
Pankratops combine with fenrir is equal boardwipe if play it correctly by special fenrir 1st and special summon pankratops as long opponent control more monster then you. Your can remove opponent total card around 3 to 4 card which is huge
Waboku to Mirror Wall : Go ahead and sit down OG, you're not that guy
I still prefer Pankratop more than fenir since pankratop can by pass Skill drain
Can You do a top 10 Yugi's forgotten or least used cards? Cards that were barely used and are barely remembered.
(I.e. Des Volsgalph, Spirit of the Rock, Glifore, Soul Relay, the tricky, etc.)
Dark scheme before you combo is very funny off of prohibition.
Are how I can get his sound tracs that been used on his previous videos????🙏🙏🙏
Ah the days when having rare cards could be used to suprise your opponent
Player with the latest broken bossmonster, indestructible and can't be removed from the board by any means : I swing for 8 gazillion damage
Me: Magic Cylinders
Dimension Wall>Magic Cylinder. Magic Cylinder TARGETS
Wait, can Evenly be used with Transaction Rollback’s GY effect making your opponent banish every single card ?
Do we get a thanksgiving stream on twitch today?
0:30 "[...] using battle to clear away your opponent's monsters [...] is just ass [...]" -TheDuelLogs, ca. 2024
“Send the top 10 cards of your Deck to Banishment; Draw 2 cards.”
It just doesn’t feel right
That SP Little Knight example shows yet again that the real problem with Yu Gi Oh is players being too thirsty for upgrades. That's also a problem with Magic by the way. If any playerbase would just hard boycott (including somehow forcing the secondary price to tank) a release that they think is going too far in terms of powercreep then the publisher would be forced to think of a different path for the next expansion.
I have no idea why we’re getting this manny uploads no way I’d complain about it
Why no soundtrack!!!?... by the way I wanna know what and where I can find the soundtracks he was using for his more previous videos, they were great.
D.D. Crow is powercraped by Expelled From The Grave, because Expelled also negates.
Maybe it's because I'm not a competitive player, but I still can't see how the cost of pot of desires and extravagance is worth drawing two cards.
I would like to see impossible card for Duel Links due to their mechanics or conditions
Threatening roar first comes into mind xd
Daily uploads lets go
Top 10 Archetypes with the most support. Please 🙏
Top 10 cards with Spell Speed 2 Destruction
Would Prohibition work well in a modern Sky Stryker deck? I'm missing 2 spell slots
Wabaku is also useful in Gladiator Beast decks
Pankratops being cheaper than Fenrir also helps.
If they make Super Prohibition to stop any archetype, for example Tearlaments, Harpie Lady's
One day I saw a video were the opponent destroyed Eveling match, no they didn't negate jus destroyed, making the field empty when the effects resolved.
31:39 Gryphon Wing 😎
DD Crow is a hidden tech card in my decks against tenpai, since you can stop them from reviving a dragon
Dumb question but why not just DiFi or shifter
@@ChildrenOfOwls I mean, yeah I can play these since I play Centur-Ion, but Crow is more flexible than the other two cards ( DShifter sometimes back fires, so I don't want to take the risk )
Every now and then I remember Pankratops is from a bad archetype
No more intros?
The Black Goat Laughs. Not a baaaaaad card!
I'm just waiting for Pank to go to 3
Have intros been power crept too?
Just what are you smoking? Waboku sees no competitive play nowadays. Very rarely you might see Paleozoic run it, but that deck isn't even good right now even with its new side support. And Shifter hasn't been power crept at all. You casuals need to stop talking.
Tenpai
With prosperity the opponent can also judge better whether to negate prosperity or leave the negate for smth else cuz he can see the excavated cards, no?
Another use of unicorn that sometimes gives it an edge against S:P that its better against TTT, a stolen S:P will still have its effect to worry about, and using its effect to "dodge" is also a -1 because TTT is a non-targetting steal
KNIGHTMARE UNICORN WAS POWERCREPT?
...yeah...I really can't with these cold opens
YESSSSS
I feel like introductions are necessary as it brings a nice vibe to it, while starting off like this feels rushed
I got anxiety and had a panic attack without that crucial intro. Like it comes in too fast, doesn't ease you in. I got really unsettled and cried and had go back out and hyperventilate go catch my breath before watching it again :(
@@magicsacklol
@@magicsack First, very mature mocking other peoples tastes, so, thank you for showing the class how not to engage with opinions you don't agree with.
And second, the point was that I simply don't like the style. It feels rushed, like those channels that pump out videos non stop to make money off the ads. It feels nice when a video takes it's time to introduce you to whatever it's about, rather than just rattle Top X lists down like a watchmojo video or such. If you like it, you do you. I'm just saying...yeah, I don't like that style, and it takes enough enjoyment out of a video for me to rather find something else to watch.
Seeing a lack of intro threw me into a frenzy, all my cards spontaneously melted out of existence and world war 3 was announced because of this
Top 10 Worst classic cards 7: Ancient Sanctuary, or Top 10 Worst Warrior type monsters. Or Worst monsters that cannot be normal summoned or set
For the non top 10 list: The Unknown side of Yu-Gi-Oh: Beasts of the Colliseum featuring Gladiator Beasts
"but" doesn't sound like a word anymore
RIP Linkerbell
uhh Music?
Confirmed... my guy's favourite word is "but /butt." 🙃
The Waboku art is horrendous.
But.... where's the intro?😢
31:22 So... Top 10 sidegraded cards?
Bring back video intros, please!
Waboku is good at gladiator beasts.
Prosperity pushed the power creep a bit TOO far.
