You could press Alt to easily highlight batallion strengths on the global map. Also i think you can pretty much feel safe about those stugs and the heavy cav batallion because your kazaki cavalry units have LOADS of at rifles. Literally dozens ptrs in each unit and these deal effective side shots at times and will stunlock the stugs head on. Even if you lose a battle you will kill quite a few of their valuable stugs so a job done. Even if you rout you just lose the unit for a turn or two and they will be back in no time. Others will do the job for the time being.

So much potential in the campaign which will hopefully be built on in DLC. If you make your own rules and don't exploit the AI too much it can be great fun.

Most of the Cossacks have been fighting against the Red Army during the Russian Civil War and have been persecuted by Soviet Goverment after the end of it, so that's why some of them had more symapthy towards the Germans rather than Soviets during WWII. In the meantime Hitler did believed in theory that the Cossacks are dessendants of Goth people and that they are Germanic by blood rather than Slavic. That's why Germans in 1942 agreed to allow the formation of combat units consisted of Cossacks on occupied Soviet territories who would be a part of the Wehrmacht. On the other side during the pre-war period, Soviet government, who initially percecuted the Cossack people and had some laws against them, decided to stop that. They allowed Cossacks to join the Red Army, permitted them to wear their Cossack uniforms, openly named their formations as Cossack Divisions, etc. So that's why both armies have Cossacks in there.
I agree. It's no match for Vulcan! I'd love to see the AI be smarter on the strategic map and also in the tactical battles. Might make for more challenging battles.
If you want the game to become more intense just do not use the air units manually. Only ever use them with AI control and never use the bombardment option. It becomes too easy to single out the enemy batallions once you have depleted their action points. And player controlled air power on the battle map is just too overpowered for the AI.

The Germans are so desperate, they are pushing combat service support units to the front lines.
I think that the Germans were saving fuel for either mechanised counter-attacks or a rapid advance towards the rear

Is the campaign any good? It gets a lot of fire from the reviews and I wasn't too fond of what SD Normandy had to offer.
Its pretty awesome. You want to be good at the game though because this is micro intensive. it becomes easier with time.

Man, don't play as the Rus. You can win as the Rus. The Rus could win as the Rus, play as the Germans with a no retreat policy and see what happens.

It's a fantastic game with tonnes of content for the price. Just have to have the patience to learn the game, which many reviewers do not.
