I just bought the beginner pieces to start. Now I see that I need the clamps. I have no building skills and have struggled with knowing how to join things. This solves everything! Thank you!
I'm getting a Kreg jig. I've been a woodworker for many years and have never used one. I recently built a vanity table for my granddaughter for Christmas. When I built the mirror frame I used a dowel in each corner. I'm thinking pocket screws may be a little easier....
I saw several positive UA-cam videos about Kreg's Pocket-Hole Jig system. Yesterday, I bought the KPHJ320 (2 hole system) at my local big box store. The packaging was sealed and there were no signs that someone had opened it or used it before me. However, when I opened it and checked the components, the Material Thickness Gauge/Hex Wrench was missing. I removed every component, hoping it was underneath, and opened both boxes of screws. It's not there. I just notified Kreg's customer service. At this point, I can't recommend this product and I have serious doubts about the quality of its products, when a company can't do something simple, like include all necessary components. Anyone else buy this product in December 2019 and found parts missing? Oh, and don't buy this as a Christmas/Hannukah present! However, if you're going to buy this product, be sure that the box is sealed and do an inventory check as soon as you open it. And keep the receipt!
Brand new to wood working, I've had the K4 sitting around for a couple years and will finally get to use it in the morning to put together a router table/out feed table for my table saw, just to get me building proper shop equipment.
I just used mine for the first time today. Awesome. Was doing it rather blindly, but I muddled through. I built the base, using the screws, it is solid. I had to cut my boards several times, as I was making a small table. It really turned out nice. I used repurposed cedar off my little house for a table top. It is really nice. Ready to do more!!! Go girls, grab some tools and get one of these.
I'm looking at this 11 ur old video and wanting to build the modern Adirondack style chair behind the presenter. I've searched the Kreg website buy can't find the plans. Can you help me please?
Love the refresher video but I noticed you left out the lap joint that one might use while building a door out of flat 2x4's guess is time to get the gopro out and figure this one out.
Hello I'm from Germany I think your system is really great. And also the different versions and accessories are great. But ! I think it's not good that man needs special screws and man can not use standard wood screws. That's the only reason why I unfortunately do not use this system. The small Jig Set by Wolfcraft is designed for standard wood screws and therefore I rarely use this. Keep it up, I use your other products :-)
Kreg equipment is OK for entry level DIYers. Some people love 'em, some people would rather buy something more expensive. For what I do, I love 'em. Just check out the other vids re Kreg stuff, some give good reviews, some bad. But that goes for all the brands of tools in a workshop. But to paraphrase what Voltaire said, he might not agree with what someone said, but he will defend to the death their right to say it. In our Western civilized society, we wish that to be the case. Same goes for tools...someone's goose is another one's gander, they bought their tools for a myriad of reasons...budget, or good quality on a budget, or professional quality tools. It's their choice. We have to respect it. I'll stick with the Kregs I have. 😊
I wonder if I need one of these to put my house back together after Hurricane Irma blows through here 3 days from now. I'll wait to buy it until AFTER the storm otherwise my neighbor may get my kreg jig just like he gets my lawn furniture. 😆
Why does every pocket hole jig or kit not come with a 3/8" plug cutter????? They only have maybe 5 spruce plugs 😕 big deal that doesn't help. Every project has more than 5 screws or different wood, Oak/Maple/Ash, ECT.
Erik Iacopelli The Kreg screws have a washer head and a self tapping thread. Using a regular wood screw would likely split the wood. The screws are reasonably priced and Kreg is not the only maker of them.
+Erik Iacopelli Regular screw can and will split the wood. I checked for you. unless you can get pretty slick with drilling a perfectly placed pilot hole after the fact
how strong have if want make plywood 20mm top and 12mm side plywood corner joint. outside no need be any hole only inside and strong if move bed corner not broken.plywood box style have.
Bought a Kreg Foreman to build a bench out of 2X4’s. Can’t seem to get the bit to extend deep enough, the screws are extremely hard to screw into the pine. Adjusted the handle that extends the bit but it shy of fence abut 1/2”. Can you offer any ideas
John Black say you made something and the joint broke use the spacer to make holes closer to original to fix joint or to fix something around the house
I'm no pro at woodworking but for a professional video from the makers of the jig the first 2 pieces of wood they put together they did it wrong and repeat the same mistake over and over. The mistake there making is using the jig on the inside corner which makes the screw bite into the ends of the other piece of wood but the ends where there's no meat.Which makes it a weak joint. If they use it on the outside of the corner it bites into the other piece of wood towards the main part the wood. Also every thing the guy put together he never lined up the wood before screwing them together. It looks like a great tool ill be sure to get it . but a bad demo on the companies part. Now what the would call "Corporate"
Speaking of mistakes, please read what you are putting in your comment before you post..."mistake there making"...There is a place, what you should have used is either the two words "they are" or the contraction of those two words, "they're" to be correct. And before the haters call me a word n**i or the like, I just am amazed how anyone with a high school education, assuming you have been educated in the English language, cannot use our words properly and know the difference between there, their and they're. Just read what you write before you post it and you will be able to correct your mistakes and prove that the high school diploma or GED you received was earned and not a fluke. Nothing personal, just got to the point after reading so many comments and the obvious errors in spelling (spellcheck anyone) and punctuation that I just had to respond. OK, I am off my soapbox.
Oh, my first Kreg jig was the R3. Mine came in a box with the adjustable clamp. One of the best tools I have.

John Gi why not take it back to the hardware store?

James McMillan They sell it as another item.
@ 4:55 you pierced your screws through !! Guess you did NOT select the CORRECT screw length !
Good eye indeed
Are the specialty screws expensive? Can you use other wood screws?
Ok, you sold me, I am buying it
Thank You 👍✅
Awesome instructional video.
Not really clear why to add the spacer when doing repair joints. That could have been explained better.

Anjli Jayaram
use the length screw that goes into what thickness your joining
1-1/4" screw but set the depth guide to the wood that your pocket hole is in.
I love Crack. It is the best thing ever made.
