@@funforalgernon His voice doesn’t get quite as high pitched as it did in his earlier films and interviews (ex: 3:37 7:45) He had a lot of nervous energy back then!
Hanks is one of the funniest Letterman guests of all time. He can be hysterically funny at times, and he's not even a comedian. I remember seeing him do that Clambake bit and for some reason that simple little bit just killed me.
1987 was another great 80s year of so many memorable movies Robocop,Predator,Lost Boys,Untouchables,Extreme Prejudice,Lethal Weapon,Living Daylights,Dirty Dancing,Near Dark,Space balls,and many more.
One of Dave's best. And yes, Tom is very gregarious. The man should never have been shamed as he has. The shame goes to those who shamed the man. But fools never learn. Especially the American voter who put the most stupid people in power.
I miss 1980s Tom Hanks! He was so gregarious and approachable back then.
I just watched his Mythical Kitchen chat and he seems to be the same guy
he still is... unless you bump into his Wife...

@@funforalgernon Don’t get me wrong, because I still love him now! Also watched and enjoyed that Mythical Kitchen ‘last meal’ interview.
Seems like the same guy just a lot older looking 😊

Miss those days
"Your a very woody person yourself."
- David Letterman
*Tom Hanks goes on to play Woody in Toy Story*
He was so effen good in Terminal.
I miss the Tom back then too! Loved his movies then!
I remember aways going to my grandma's house for weekends, just to watch his movies
He forgot how much he loved 'Roustabout' which he expounded on during Dave's last NBC show.
At 3:13 he petty much calls him Woody! Lol
They should have posted this on Friday! Shabbat Shalom!
the Money Pit is soooo funny
T. Hanks spells Thanks
"...towel on his head..." 😬
please upload the Jim Carrey skunk interview
I never considered that the actors probably had to physically bring a clip with them to these shows before.
Don't tell me you're posting this because Elvis died??
I’m always the last to hear about these things!!

He's not dead.
Dave "You're a very Woody fella yourself!"
Possible foreshadowing?
Crazy to think Elvis had only been dead 10 years at this point in time.
Elvis died?
@@rockturtleneck According to some
@@TheLadsBandLive Proof he isn't dead: Have you seen the Letterman episode on here?
coked out of his mind, wow
I feel like Tom hanks would be completely natural as a stand up comic.
Dragnet was so much better then it had any right to be
I loved him back in the Bosom Buddy days, although, I think Peter Scolari was funnier.

Who would of ever thought Tom would choose to be a Liberal.
Dude is Tom Hanks hott????
Hes high probably drunk.
You were much cooler Tom back then, what happened to you ?!
David S Pumpkin…
Shocking to see the normalized anti-Palestinian joke in the middle there. Thankfully we have come a little way since then.
I used to be a fan of Tom. Dragnet was such fun.
When he starting spouting off about his politics is when I was done with him.
Lololololol
Probably because the music in the movies got worse.
Is he bald
From gregarious to liberal hack.
