  • I wanted to pick a technique that I'd not done before for this soap. After browsing through some cold process soap techniques I saw the spin swirl, I've seen it before but never tried it, so now's the time.

Although my cold process soap making tutorials are of a tutorial nature, they are intended for people who have a good understanding of making cold process soap. The information given is based on what works for me, however, there are lots of variables associated with cold process soap making and I, therefore, take no responsibility for the results achieved when using the techniques or methods explained in these tutorials. Cold process soap involves the necessary use of sodium Hydroxide (lye) which is a very dangerous substance. Before attempting and cold process soap making you should ensure you are fully aware of the lye safety procedures and always wear the correct safety equipment when making soap.

Such an effective technique! A swirl with no need for any tools - one less thing to keep track of and wash up! I know what you mean about not getting a design reveal when cutting this kind of soap, almost feels like a missed step. But hooray for a simple technique. Thanks for making us a soapy video even though you don't need to make more soap right now. Greatly appreciated!! 😊🤩

The swirl patterns revealed on the cut sides are pretty cool too! Really like this color palette.

I really like where you stopped swirling. Especially that area that looks like a teardrop. 😊

You stopped swirling just in time. I think it came out really well. I was laughing when you said that you have thousands of soaps (I am certain they will be gone in a snap). I mostly make soap for my own pleasure, to give as gifts and when people have asked me to make them for special occasions. I hate it when people say, "Oh it is too pretty to use." I say you need to use it so I can make more. You had asked for my name. It is Robin. Thank you for sharing.

      Hey Robin,
      Thanks for the appreciation.
We do have a bunch of soaps in the cupboard, but they won't be there for long. 😇

We see you. Orange mica in orange ring jug, green mica in green ring jug. Orange and green spatula too, but in opposition to mica colour so it’s not deceptive on the eye. Yes, aesthetic matters… we see you see but don’t say. It’s glorious to spot!
Talking of spotting things was that a pour error I spotted at 7:07 ? Looks like you nearly repeated it too… it’s ok it really doesn’t show in the lovely end result. (It could have been intentional… so wanted to ask.)
Talking of end result, your concern about the end result being dull when cutting a slab (with the design not being hidden). I confess I thought the finished slab looked ok, but it wasn’t until it was subdivided you can see a unified pattern…. It allows a better focus.
Oh, and while talking of focus… enjoy that exhibition/show… I hope it goes well. (Please remove those bars of soaps from coming out your ears… they’ll be way easier to sell that way.)
