Hi Everyone, I hope you are all safe and well. The tiger swirl was the technique that was voted as the favourite for the next tutorial, so here it is. I have added a scalloped layer at the bottom, you can choose to do this or leave it off in your design. I have added timestamps in the description so that if you don't need all of the tutorial, you can easily find the bits relevant to you. If you have any techniques you would like to see made into a tutorial then please drop them in the comments below and if a number of people want the same thing I can make sure I cover it in a future video. If you have any questions or comments please leave them below and I will get back to you, Happy soaping - Lisa :-)
Thank you for sharing your skills! I think watching 30 seconds of any ad is the LEAST we can do to help ensure that you can provide your very helpful and FREE resources. I do this for every creator I admire because I know it really helps them out.
Thank you so much Tiffany, I really appreciate that you do that, I do the same. I was really awkward mentioning it because I hate doing that sort of thing, but thought, some people probably don't know,. Thank you for your lovely comment :-)
I agree. I never realized it was helpful to watch them until a couple of channels I watch explained it. Now I dont find the ads to be an annoyance, I'm happy to let them play.
This is an excellent tutorial. I have learned new things that are extremely helpful, even though I have a soap business and have been making soap for a while. My chemistry background calls to me, making me see the molecules bopping around in the soap rather more randomly and slowly, keeping the soap fluid longer. That old, and seemingly crucial crutch, the stick blender, simply throws all the molecules together very fast. They find their partners and before you know it, you have a heavy trace. Love this video. Thank you!
Thank you for removing the mystery of the tiger swirl! I now know what I've been doing wrong and , more importantly, how to do it right. Thank you again!
I am your biggest fan, I make for at least 42 years soap. I did the usual things and started with baby soap, you made me see that there is more in the soap world. I hope I meet you someday. You are amazing and this old lady learned a lot from you, thank you so much
I tend to watch your videos before bedtime, as I have mentioned organization and skill relax me to watch. I thought you may like to know I am watching from Saint Paul, Minnesota in the USA. Thank you for another sanity-saving video.
I always go back to my stick blender and I never realised that was causing my soap to get too thick too quick. Thank you for your video, I’m off to make a soap loaf now!
Oooh yes it will definitely be making you have thick batter, maybe have a watch of this video I made all about trace and emulsion ua-cam.com/video/o_VCYiDmOJs/v-deo.html
I've watched a lot of your videos. Not only do you have a well paced pleasant teaching voice. You also do a magnificent job explaining your methods and tips! Kudo's to you! I can't get enough. (and I'm a 10 yr soaper) Thank You.
I never knew that about the 30 seconds for watching an ad. Glad you told me and I have started to watch the advertising a little bit longer! Can't wait to try this! Love all the information you give in your videos. Thank you so very much.
Thank you so much. I felt awkward saying about the ads ( you can see I'm a bit weird in the video) but I thought some people may not know, so at least with the info people can make a decision. Oooh I do hope you give it a go, hope it goes really well.
I am going to start listing all of the small yet important details you are teaching me. The wait period is so important for these intricate designs. I think the clamshell was my first time to realize the need to just be patient and wait for the trace. "I can make this soap" Thank you, there is a reason your videos have many commercials and that is a complement :)
Thank you so much, Pamela. I'm so thrilled you are joining the 'wait for trace' club (well it's not a proper club, but maybe we should start one) it makes such a difference.
I love this. One of the positives about this time is that you are making more videos which i absolutely love. Your mannerisms, voice, explanations, tips, creativity... all of it, just fantastic.
AW, thank you so much Melissa that's so good of you, remember if any of those long ones come up, just do 30 seconds, after that there's no extra benefit. You are a star :-)
One of the comments say 30 seconds of watching is the least we can do and she is absolutely right, I know that helps so I always watch 30 s and more. Thank you for this great tutorial and as usual the soap looks amazing. I’ll try to make it! 👏👍
Thank you so much Victoria, and thank you for taking the time to watch the ads. I hated saying it (that's why it looks a bit awkward) but I thought quite a few people may not know. Like you I always watch the ads(well let them run when I make a cup of tea). It is nice to see a little bit coming back :-) I hope you do make this one and I hope it comes out well :-)
Thank you so much for sharing. I love it when professionals share all their amazing soap making secrets to make my soap making life easier! You're a great teacher.
Thank you so much Jessica, I'm so pleased that my videos help people out, that's what I want, everyone to be able to make soap that they're really proud of
I absolutely love your style of teaching us how to make soap. Your patience is your explanation reminds me of an elementary school teacher. ❤️ Your talent at creating very detailed designs and scenes in your soap is mind blowing. Thank you so much!!
I always watch your ads, every penny counts after all. I love the colours you've used in this design. My go to colours have to be Cadbury purple and turquoise, my 2 youngest girls favourite colours. Although I do like cerise myself. Will give this a go when I can shop for supplies again 😁
Thank you so much Jennifer, that's so kind of you I really appreciate it. OOh purple and turquoise does sound nice, I've not done that. I hope you do give it a go and I hope it goes brilliantly when you do :-)
I love this tutorial and you chose stunning colours. I like this style of Tiger Swirl. I always watch the adds or run and do something quickly since I was made aware that it helps the soaper a little. You make it seem so easy.
Thank you so much Tanya, you are always so lovely and supportive. I hate saying those bits in the video (and you can probably tell I was a bit awkward) but all those things do make a difference and I think some people don't know that. I really appreciate the things you do. I'm so pleased you liked the soap :-)
Hi Aparna, yes probably. I do tend to make a lot of my own molds, my soap cutter and even things like some of my very small pots are ends cut from bottles :-)
That is so cool..I really like all your techniques and teachings, I just now did my TD thingy after watching your video on how to mix it with oil and keep it ready for use. Thanks a lot
Dang you're good! Thanks for all the tips. My trace does accelerate on its own quite often, probably because of me not letting it sit and stick blending it to trace instead...
Thank you so much natachamilosevic, that's very kind of you. Oooh hopefully if you just get an emulsion and then let it sit you may have better luck :-)
I love all your videos, and have watched several over and over. Your the only one that explains things in a way I understand easily Thank you and please keep doing videos.
Really gorgeous tiger stripe...love the scalloped layer as a base, haven’t seen that done before...now I’m off to see your video on TD ...thanks for sharing..p.s. I watched the advert !
Thank you for showing the cutting boards. I have been looking what is out there that i could cut with a scissor! Seriously, I spent hours trying to find the right thing. And lovely video and soap like always. Great tip about the water to heat up the lye solution. You are the best! Big hug
Aw, thank you so much Barbara, yes they do those flexible ones that you could cut with scissors, they work really well. Thank you so much for your lovely comments :-)
Your method of leaving the batter so it can come to trace on its own is a brilliant technique that works! I experimented with your method on my last batch, and ready to try swirls again! Thank you!
Thank you, Lisa, for being the BEST teacher for soaping! This is a beautiful soap and your tips and tricks are always so helpful. I learn more about trace and consistency by watching your channel! And, I had no idea about the ads...I will let them ride from now on.
