Mariah Carey wasn't even a teenager (9 years old) when this song came out by Cheryl Lynn. There were countless vocalists during the disco era that were just as good (or better) than Mariah was.
What an absolute delight. Kat's vocals are phenomenal with great backing vocals. Band displays the signature groove and brass section knocked it out of the park. Weekly Friday prescribed dose of HSCC has once again returned my youthfulness but have found daily therapeutic doses in between are a must. God Bless you Con and HSCC.

I love this entire group! They are all phenomenal. Kat's vocals are out of this world. Con is as good of a bass player as you'll find anywhere in the world. And Bradley on the drums holds it all together with perfect timing and chops and has a great singing voice in his own right. I can't wait until the world tour starts. I sure hope they visit us here in the U.S. at a stop or two along the way.
Faithful rendition of classic late 80's Funk .... this is Holy Grail stuff that you don't wanna mess with unless you got a real good re-arrangement idea. Play It Straight, Play It Great is the approach here from HSCC.
Just came off watching SITLIVE doing a cover of this song. Thought they were very good and did a fantastic cover. I come over here and check out HSCC doing this cover. _HOLY CRAP & WTF!!_ I can't say enough about this wonderful , (hitting on all cylinders) performance! And, that little spark-plug of a lead singer..... _WOW! She was righteously, _righteously I tell you_ ,channeling Cheryl Lynn! Jeezus.....when she goes into that first key change up at 1:50 & 2:46....all bets are off! Bravo to all! 👍👏

I did the same thing. Watched SIL and thought "Don't know Cheryl Lynn but I've heard this before". Go to my Favourite Channel and Yee Haa, there it is. We've seen HSCC live 10 times over the last few years and booked for another 4 shows this year. They're not a cover band, they're a Performance Reinvention Band. And we've been lucky enough to meet many of the band members after the shows, including "pocket rocket". Kat Jade was on fire. I was smiling big when she hit the high notes around 1:50, and the horns picked it up from there. And the ending too. Sensational voice. Con was grooving to the rhythm as he laid down the bass notes. Overall, HSCC covered this song exceptionally well.
Now, I have to say that they did a great job. I can just imagine what Cheryl Lynn would be thinking. I have to say that I have seen and heard many people singing this song. But I would say that this group did a very great job. The vocal was great. My hat for the horn section was great.
