I loved how the wandering army band used to play the Wild, Wild West theme in Frontierland in Disneyland. I don't know if they still do, but I didn't hear it when I was there recently. It is a great theme.
As a 10 year old boy when this cool show debuted, my fantasy was to be James West...and now as a 65 year old man, I still wish I could be James West. Thanks for the memories.
I think we all wanted to be James West; all the gadgets and gorgeous women. The coolest train - The Wanderer - and THE great master of disguise Artemus Gordon - the show was way ahead of its time.
@Wes McGee I am sorry to hear that about your father may God give you & yours the strength to endure comfort you to fill that void & to heal you your Father in your heart is a legend & Wes Mcgee don't forget & remember that your father is also a legend too he's your legend ☺ February 18,2020
Just heard the sad news of his death. Grew up watching The Wild Wild West. Still watch reruns! Robert Conrade was The Man! He was inducted into the Hollywood Stuntmen's Hall Of Fame! RIP, sir. 😔
I'm reasonably certain that he was a member of The Cauliflower Alley Club, along with numerous pro wrestlers, boxers and actors; "The Ring of Friendship", it's called. I do know that he was one of the recipients of its Reel Legend award.
My brother and I watched Wild West growing up every Friday night. It was always exciting! Thank you and Rest In Peace Mr. Conrad. Now you can be with Ross Martin on adventures again.
As a kid I was very excited with all these secret places in the train. I made my own secret places in my room, of course they was childish, but all this excitement still lives in my memory.

I heard that Star Trek had to have fight scenes to compete with Conrad’s show. We all love Kirk but Conrad was 1000% more bad ass by far. RIP Robert you will live forever thru your tv shows.
@bodeswell35 For me it was Spock, Scotty, McCoy, Checkov, Chappel, and the rest's galaxy. And, it was a big one. I actually saw the reruns of Trek first then WWW along with U.F.O. in the early 70's and loved them all.
My favorite of all time then The Advetures of Johnny Quest. Always watched this with my Dad on Friday nite at 8 pm at 8 years old! Thanks James and Artemis! You guys were the Best! Peace, love and many happy returns...😘🤗😊
Of the Johnny Quest voice cast, I met Don Messick, John Stephenson, and I spoke to Mike Road at his Studio City home once, briefly. Great stuff for this 57 year old SoCal guy. :)
He had to share the Cannonball with Petticoat Junction , but Dr.Loveless was all his. What a series, there's nothing on now that makes you crave next week's episode, what a guy.
My very VERY insecure male parent was quite jealous of James West / Robert Conrad , however whatever , I loved WWW!!!!! no doubt Robert Conrad (who did not have a father himself) would have been a much better father figure.
Gene Collins: my dad never bothered watching the show with me, so I have no memories of watching the show with him - probably a good thing in his angry case.
Best show ever - used to watch with my Dad when I was a kid - You knew the show when you heard the music - I hope your with Jesus - Give my Dad a hug from me - 😊
I remember this so well , a new show about another secret agent, the music and small action clip. The bond craze was at the hight in movies and TV shows like man from UNCLE and I Spy and now done in a western setting. Wild Wild West turned out to be the surprise hit in the 1965 season. It is still fresh because it is in a period setting. A timeless classic TV show. 📺
Always loved this show and the way they would put a thumbnail drawing of the ending scene before each commercial. James West always had a trick up his sleeve for everything.
The Wild Wild West, Tales of Wells Fargo along with The High Chapperl and The Virginian were among my favourites during my teen years. All of them had awesome opening themes. Those were the days.
I recall the first season opener and the bar girl tried to stab him, he knocked her out. Apparently someone thought that wasn’t a good idea so they changed the sequence to show him kissing her and she just melts and falls back against the wall. Interesting move. Luv’d this show. Rest In Peace James👍🏾
On my 12th birthday, my mom bought our very first color TV. It was my job to set it up and I did so happily. The very first show we watched on it was the Wild Wild West. It must have been the second season or so because it was in color. I really loved ❤ that show.
I'm so glad they brought it in color so you can see the vibrancy of their outfits they were just gorgeous. Reminds me of Robert De Niro in casino with the vibrancy of in the variations of colors for his suits and shoes.
R.I.P. Robert Conrad aka Mr James West. The villains bad guys were always the best and beautiful women and stunts one of my favorite all time tv shows ever
What boy didn't want to be James West. Loved the show and he was a childhood hero for me. Rest in peace Mr. Conrad and thanks for bringing to life this amazing character.
As a kid I watched re-runs, loved mix of western and modern spy Tech. With star trek and The Professor on Gilligan's Island it inspired me. I'm a mechanical engineer and pilot. Conrad was bad ass. RIP.
I love this video! This was originally a segment that was part of the 1965 CBS Fall Preview Show! I remember it being hosted by Bob Denver & Alan Hale from "Gilligan's Island". Thanks for posting this!

Friday nights were the best when I was a youngster. My Dad would bring home hamburgers after work so Mom had a night off from cooking, no school for the next two days AND the great lineup of TV shows starting with “Hogans Heroes” following by “ The Wild, Wild West” with its marvelous animated opening ,that theme music and all those gadgets and original plots. Great memories 👍🏾
That's what it always fascinated me when I was a kid. This mixing of «sci-fi» like in James Bond movies, humour and western. Not obvious to mix all these ingredients adequately.
Great show, Conrad and Ross Martin made that show work. Of course, this is the first black and white season. They made adjustments as they went along. If you notice early on, there were not that much stunts and they didn't have Conrad wearing the tight clothes yet. But Robert Conrad was the man.

Luke Bernstein. That’s for certain. Shows like this would never air today. Too much toxic masculinity. Great we have the dvd box sets.
