As a father of a married daughter i can sympathize the the dad. Its different loosing your little girl and trusting some other person to be there and protect her... luckily my daughter is exactly like me and married a great man................................. but it was still a really difficult transition...
I grew up in Pasadena near San Marino in the ‘90s so this movie takes me right back to that time and place. And it’s a funny, cute, sweet and touching movie.
This is one of my favorites! But I'm probably one of the few that loves the sequel even more! I've been pregnant three times and for each pregnancy i would watch the Father of the bride 2, especially when I got close to due date😊
Edit: Heads up. This is a LOOONG comment, because I'm typing my thoughts as I go through the video. 22 is young for SOME people to be married. I don't think there is a hard and fast rule about how old or young someone needs to be in order to get married, as long as both people are adults and consenting. I also really don't think it's weird for anyone to be nervous to tell their parents they're getting married to someone they've never brought home and had only met a few months ago (I also don't think that's inherently a problem, but the fact that Annie got engaged after 3 months explains how weird George is being). What's weird to me is that Annie never mentioned Bryan to her parents while she was studying abroad, but I don't know the state of international communication in the early 90s. Maybe she didn't get a chance to? Idk...I don't think calling was an easy option, but surely she could've mentioned him in a postcard or something. Maybe it's not a thing in Sweden, but in the US, it's completely normal to call your spouse's parents Mom and Dad. My BILs call me their sister, not SIL. Not unless we're meeting new people and they need to clarify that they are married to MY sister and not THEIR sister. You know, for that to be such a big, fancy house, that bathroom mirror was VERY cheaply installed. Historically in the US (and other countries), the bride's family paid for the wedding. That's why there's such a thing about the wedding day being mostly about the bride. I have to disagree with you. Annie did kind of overreact to the blender. I get her being upset, but that should have led to a conversation about what that meant to her vs what he actually meant. She jumped right to the nuclear option. She is her father's child. But Brian's a decent guy overall. He deserves some grace. When the bride and groom leave, that's when the party's over. It's traditional to see the newly weds off at the end of the reception.
22 isn't young to get married. That's how old i was. My hubby is 2 years younger than me and this July marks our 14 years married and still going strong😊
I grew up going to church, so I would have no objection to a church wedding. But other locations would be okay too. The important thing is that the wedding isn't just for show. It's about the couple.
This might be your mentality but it’s not something all fathers struggle with. My dad is a great example of that you don’t need to infantilize or view your daughter as a child even when adult. But then again my dad treated us like humans with agency already as kids
@@Sessis: You seem ignorant and disrespectful to other people's culture. This movie is a exaggerated comedy of how a father is in American culture. Especially in a country where divorce rates have always been high and domestic violence is a issue. A father being overprotective does not mean he isn't treating his daughter like a human. I am sure I could find some things to judge about Swedish culture in your movies. Even though your little country doesn't have the talent to develop high budget films.
Hey Sessis, hello from Prague! I enjoy your reactions so much! About your questions: Lakers game means the Los Angeles Lakers, which is a famous basketball team. And Paul Simon is a really famous singer. About the wedding costs, the amounts from that time update to present day would be 2.5x more.
Sessis, not sure if anyone has answered your "dad" question?! In the USA (and I assume many places elsewhere) an in-law is a non blood kinship that's created via a marriage. A father/mother-in-law simply means father/mother of your spouse. Brother/sister-in-law means brother/sister of your spouse. Son/daughter-in-law means spouse of your son/daughter. Less common in speech, but also technically acceptable would be calling someone your grandparent-in-law, grandchild-in-law, aunt/uncle-in-law, and/or cousin-in-law. It's reasonable in many relationships, though becoming less common, to then call your in-laws dad/mom, bro/sis, etc.
San Marino is city in southern California LA. Is name of county in California daughter by 2nd film be living with her husband somewhere in Los Angeles County also known as LA. Which they do not specify.
The movie that you watched was actually a remake. Although I can't remember when it was made, the earluer version starred Cary Grant, and I think it had a similar opening scene, with Grant talking to the audience.
try watching Jim Hanson original dark crystal film which regrettably starts at the end story there is also prequel to it as well but middle of story is still missing because Netflix said nobody was watching because everyone knew how story ends.
Congratulations on 9000 subscribers, #Sessis. Thanks so much for uploading this awesome movie reaction. I love your content so much because it's absolutely amazing, and I really enjoy watching your reactions to different movies.
First of all how is the "Sjukling"? Second of all i must say you have decorated your room so nice and pretty and i love your case, i know we first saw it on stream but the cam screen is so small so it was hard to see, but i love it that was exact my thought of doing with my PC but then came burnout so i gave up on things : P and for the third have you seen How to train a dragon? that is yet another really good animated Dreamworks movie serie, ( And they have a serie too same as Kung fu panda )
That shows how much things have changed, thinking that 22 was a young age to get married. My mom was only 17, almost 18, on her wedding day. Of course, that was decades ago.
Let me tell you this. I catered three weddings by myself no crew no staff just me and maybe one friend of the family to help me. I cook everything myself, carved the fruit, sculpture, desserts in church kitchens and the first wedding was 150 ppl Second was 200 Third wedding was 400-500 And the third one wasa disasters the family didn't plan for enough food and half the people didn't eat because the family didn't coordinate as I suggested so I packed my equipment after food was gone and left. Catering weddings when family has no understanding of cost and organization is big stress let me say that. But the first two after I served I enjoyed the wedding atmosphere most of the time I was so exhausted I found a couch in hidden area and slept
@@Sessis I did first two for free cause friends weddings. The big one was I paid but not fun. I'm a excellent menu planner and great cook. I haven't catered in years though. I just cook for myself now ha!

It's not you, I've been keeping to myself for a while. So glad to see your channel growing so fast. Always great to see your smiling face. Looking forward to your next video. See you soon@@Sessis
Hi Sessis loving the reaction. Everytime I get to watch a reaction with you or interact with you on Twitch. It's a good day for me. The sequel is good and this movie is actually a remake of a movie from 1950
Hello Sessis, How was your week, everything okay? Just starting to watch your reaction video and the movie, it's interesting and I'm really liking the video 🥰💕✨
Thank you 😃 I’m pleasant for the most part I hope but I’m also not the quiet kind of person. I almost always speak my mind. I appreciate the kind comment. I’m currently sick so feeling a bit down and seeing yours and other nice words is making things a brighter!
Speaking your mind isn't a bad thing, unless of course you are mean to people but i just can't imagine that of you. I actually had to check how to say get well soon in swedish because it's been so long since my school years so jag kan inte tala svenska anymore, but krya på dig! I think..
Oh it’s really a thing? Interesting 🤔 wonder why such old customs are still upheld over there. But maybe there’s places in Europe that keep on with that as well and I just haven’t heard about it

Steve Martin was born to play the part of a disgruntled father
