very helpful!! I always lose majority of marks on my weak evaluations or lack thereof. this helped provide general routes to take on my evaluation and how to expand! thanks a bunch!
Such a great video:). It really puts into frame how to link the content iam learning ,just hope with practice i can learn how to write and think like an economist.
Wow, Definitely a wonderful video, I enjoy watching all your videos, it motivates me a lot to study hard and be a great student, I'm studying economics to here in Mexico and these tips are very useful.
Hey Sam, the example you gave of an extended evaluation, is that one you would use at the end of a main body paragraph or in your overall final evaluation. Superb video btw!😊
I would personally use that as an individual paragraph, after my introduction and analysis of the original point. In my final evaluation, I would want to combine the individual evaluation points. For instance, if we were to use the same example (negative externality re smoking), my other point may be about the provision of information campaigns. In my overall conclusion I may something like: taxes are effective and can be implemented quickly, but come at the cost of being regressive. Conversely, information campaigns take longer to be successful, but actually cause lower prices (as they reduce demand for smoking). So, it may be best to use the policies in combination, such that we get to the socially optimal level of consumption quickly (via the tax), but in the long-run (when the information campaigns are successful) we can remove the tax, and hopefully remain at the socially optimal point, but also with lower prices. Sorry for the lengthy response! Hope this makes sense.
Thanks for the video! I wanted to ask if you have any practice tips for improving examination technique in general for economics. I do practice questions but im not too sure if the responses are good, and if i ask my teachers i think their marking will be slightly dodgy..
Are the evaluative comments in the final conclusion any different from the evaluation in the main body? Like are there any overall and more general ideas relevant to the question that you need to mention. Thank you
They should be different. Something that can be really effective is considering your policies in combination. For example, if one policy you speak about is only effective in the long-run, whereas a different policy you talk about is only effective in the short-run, it may be beneficial to mention how these policies could be used side-by-side.
It depends on the specific subject. Try, where possible, to use study methods which utilise active recall. I think flashcards are always a good place to start.

is this relevant for gcses?
won't evaluation of your evaluation be considered contradicting your own answer though?
Hiya, I've recently begun my AS level classes and have been confused as to which study methods I should stick with. Could you please help me out?
