It’s called an onion board because you can rip the layers off when used. Lots of layers like an onion plus it will make you cry when Darren gives you his invoice 😂

learning automotive body work was one of the most satisfying things i did after mechanic's/engineering at college will look great

Hi trucker Tim matey it's mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍 I'm a ex panel beater on all cars vans and i can do trucks all cab's and chassis I'll probably have that Scania R4 series chassis done in no time. Because i use to build rally cars and classic cars years ago and with me being a panel beater it's second nature to me, keep up the great work and keep your UA-cam videos coming out thanks from mark from Wirral Merseyside 👍👍

I saw Bekkey Gilss' video from 5 months ago where she rode for the first time with Tynietag and the new upright exhausts from TruckMaxx. a smile from ear to ear and just as happy. what would happen to this smile and happiness if she could drive behind the wheel of your v8. I would love to see that face and the happiness. If you want this and she would want it too then I think this could be very cool. it was just a thought that occurred to me. good luck with the restoration tim
I would say it’s an onion board because it’s got several layers you can pull off just like an onion
hi tim only one thing that has me on the 4 series build is you said you were taking it down the cross members and chassis rail yet there are still 3 axles attached to the chassis if yor going to do the spring eye bushes and replace all the discis pads chambers may aswell take the axles off and give them a full refurb aswell on a positive note keep up[ the good work best way to learn is to do it yourself only wish i could help out with the build but in my current situation of going through kidney and liver failure and awaiting a transplant it will be a while before im back at anything mechanical 😀😀😀😀

Only a guess but I think they might be called an onion board because an actual onion chopping board is used for cutting onions but they also have little circles or indentations in them so you can keep onions on them ready for cutting and that mixing board has a little circle in the top of it too. Not sure if that's why they call mixing boards onion boards though.
I have always thought that it is because you peel off the sheets a bit like you peel an onion
