Your daughter is so cute and smart reminds me when my daughter was her age.
Absolutely charming!!! One of those times I regret that we never had kids 😟😟😟 Thank you so much!!
Thank you Paul for the comment! Yes, these little people are a big part of all this. They really enjoy being a part of the videos!
Very cool ,what a good day wrenching with your kid ,that will live with her forever 😎
Thanks, for sure.
Now I have to buy an Acty to keep coming back to these great videos. Adorable duo ya'll are.
🤩 great jobs guys!!!! BK did great. A natural on camera like dad.
Thanks bro. She’s been begging to be on a vid. She was super excited to be in the video.
Great Job BK . Just a tip sound deadening works best behind the speaker by blocking outside noise, makes door vibrations and road noise much less noticeable. Also makes music more clear and loud.
Thanks! we aren't stereo people around these parts. Or sound deadening either. This was just for fun mostly, not as much "function".
enjoy your time together.. it goes by fast... great video..im going to be getting a sambar soon
Loved this video- awesome to see BK helping you out
Thanks for the positivity! Yeah BK has been itching to work with my on a video. This will not be the first and last. I assure you. Ha!
Loved every flippin min of it
It means a lot bro! Thanks for the support!
Great job and family time is priceless keep up those awesome videos
Thanks Chris! I appreciate the feedback! It’s a joy.
This channel is gold ❤
Thanks for the the like! Its silly, but I try to help where I can.
I’m not seeing the part numbers on UA-cam, great video, love it.
Hey Stephen! Thanks for watching. The links are in my first comment under the video.
Great video! I think BK has the perfect personality for her own channel for whatever her hobbies are!
I got it!
Awesome video you guys!
Thanks for the shoutouts :) glad the bracket worked as planned !!
I need to get a radio and speakers in mine soon.
Thank YOU sir. Already got someone asking about the bracket.
I need a few of them brackets brah
I’ll get with you AllThingzJDM
@@RHD_Clayton Is there anyway i can purchase one as well? Thank you.
@k k message me on Instagram on the same name is here
Hi Ron. Thank you for the great video. I’m looking to get the same radio with the back up camera but for some reason when I click on the link a different radio pops up. Can you please share the model number the one on this video. Thank you
Yes. Me too. What size radio am I looking for? I don’t need the backup camera but want to up date the radio.
What I purchased was listed in the comments of that video I believe. Its been awhile and could be discontinued maybe?
Super cheesy. And super loved it man.
Its alllll about the cheese, im a 90s kid, I live for it. Thanks!
great video! keep up the amazing work!
Thanks Lars! I may have another pinout for you to illustrate soon if interested.
@@rhd_ron send her my way, I'm on the FB group
BK is super cool kid
Thank you for making this video
Thanks for the comment. More on the way!
Nice i need to start my daughter on cars
hot rodding in the acty... drifting aint easy....:)
Haha, yeah. That sucker stays full tilt....just to get around.
Awesome thanks
My daughter love riding my acty too
These kids love this little truck. It's a family member at this point.
Working on the backup camera also, could you share what you connected the red wire which is attached to the video in backup cable at the radio to? Direct 12v wire perhaps? Thanks again.
I have to wonder if the camera mounted up on the rack would have been just as effective? no you couldn't be 3 inches from car behind you.. but I'd love to have both to choose from. great vid ron!
Yeah I thought it would be neat on the rack too by the light, but, I think it'll be more effective WHEN I get a hitch for my little trailer.
@@rhd_ron 👀
Thanks for the video! I'm working on getting the parts together. Do you have any idea where or how to replace the old felt seal inside the window?
I think it's going to be much easier to get access to install a double DIN ATOTO Android stereo in my 96 Daihatsu Hijet (no air conditioning) with backup camera. I'm going for a rough duty off road capable vehicle so I think I'm putting 6.5" marine speakers in the four corners of the cab roof, up out of the way. My version of sound deadening is "painting" the truck inside and out with two coats of Medium Quartz Gray Monstaliner polyurethane bed liner.
It looks like you already installed keyless entry. I need to check out that video. I have the Amazon kit for my Hijet but have been waiting on spring weather to cross items off the Hijet To Do list. I'm going to use the rear door lock actuators to lock and unlock some large mil-surp ammo can toolboxes mounted to the headache rack under the rear window.
I never solder vehicle wiring, or wires in any other high vibration environment. Solder creates stress risers than can break stranded wire, even with heat shrink as a strain relief. I use good quality crimp connectors.
I loved that this was a father daughter project. That's awesome. Thanks for sharing.
At 25:46 mark, you had the reverse light come on and while it was on, there was a clicking sound and the light was flickering..... what was that all about?
Hi Ron, I see you had some challenges like I am. I got the AC duct cover off finally but can't get to the 2 screws. Any tips? Looks like you used a socket but I can't seem to get on the screw. Thanks for your great videos!
I was able to get the screw loose and radio out. Yay!
What did you do to secure the head unit inside the radio slot? Or did you just leave it free. I got the same one and it fits pretty snugly but I’d like a bit more security 😂
Ron
I am working toward a similar upgrade for my 1996 Attack. I’m trying to find the little 90 degree rubber grommet fitting that the speaker wire passes through on the passenger front A pillar. I’ve been looking at parts diagrams and I can’t seem to spot the part, can you help? I’m going to get two for myself and two more for a friend.
Love your channel.
Thanks for the love Stephen! Yeah I looked for that 90 degree as well to add to the Japanese driver side. Couldn’t find it so I loom meshed the wiring into the existing grommet. That’d be a great part to stock up on if ever located. I’ll check into it with my connect in Japan. Thanks for watching!
Where did you get the wiring harness for the aftermarket stereo? Did you need to get a kei truck specific adapter or did it come with the single din stereo?
Hey Greg, this harness came with the radio. I had to wire it into the Honda original wires. The diagram for my truck is on the white board in the video. Thanks!
Hey thanks for making this vid! It's a lifesaver!
Sorry for the noob question, I'm not good with stereo stuff.
If I install new speakers and a new head unit that comes with a harness, can I just crimp/splice the wires from the old harness into the new head unit's harness or will I need to get an adapter? You said you can find a plug and play, but all I can find are harnesses that have the left speaker wires only...
Also is there a conversion harness you could recommend?
Hey thanks for watching. If you have an existing aftermarket radio with aftermarket wiring already attached to
The Honda wiring, yes, you should be able to use the new radio’s harness into the aftermarket harness on your truck. If you have not yet converted from Hona wiring to any aftermarket wiring, you will have to start there first. As for plug n play, check with willpowered performance, I think he makes something to help!👍
@@rhd_ron Thanks for the reply!
If I want to directly connect the wires to my head unit like you did in the video will I still need to buy an aftermarket harness converter or just take the wires directly from the 4/2 honda connectors and splice those onto the harness to the new head unit?
Did you just plug camera wire to the back of the radio ? On the radio harness there is a pink wire did you hook that to something up front ?
I used your diagram and help from a buddy to hook up stereo but the camera has me a bit confused 😕 lol
If I recall, the wiring diagram had the pink wire into the red wire with the yellow coax for the camera. It was a signal source.
Hey ron,
I went to the link for the speakers. On smhamazon an it says the the speakers are just 4. Are they 4 or 4.25??
I was thinking they were 4.25", however they may be 4". It's whatever the link takes you to that I posted in the comments. Thanks for watching!
ron i was wondering if you know the part number or where to order the replacement parts for the acty death wobble?
Are you looking for the centerlink or the lower stabilizer bushings? I use a site call Honda.epc-data.com to look for part numbers. Give it a whirl and see if you find what you need. Thanks!
@@rhd_ron thanks Ron your video's are awesome
@@jayw663 Thanks for watching!
You two rock!! Which backup camera did you use? Thanks!
Thank you! The link to the radio and backup camera are in the description of the video in the comments.👍
Did the Kilmat make a difference with road noise? I'm thinking of doing the same with my car, it's super loud at 65+, and my ear dyno says most of the wind noise is coming from the doors.
It did actually! Didn’t expect it to either but it was a nice add.
Mine is a 1998 Honda acty van
I have these wires
Big harness:
Blue/green
White/blue
Gray/black
Yellow/red
Red/black
Black
Could you help me decode this
Hey Ron! Subscribed and have watched nearly all of your Acty videos. I'm very interested in this bluetooth/backup camera unit, but have no soldering experience nor the tools to solder. Is there any way to do this install without soldering? Splicing and using electrical tape? Too unsafe/not possible? Guessing I should just learn to solder, but figured I'd ask if there was a non-soldering route. Thanks for showing the Kilmat install in the doors...got some arriving tomorrow. Thanks and cheers!
Hey there! Thanks for the views and the positive feedback! Yes, you don’t have to solder, I just like to when I can. There are all types of electrical connectors that are completely fine to use. It’s whatever you are comfortable with using. I’ve used about every type, I just enjoy the soldered connection. Good luck with the Kilmat, it is STICKY! Clean those doors off well before you add it. Take care.
@@rhd_ron thanks for the reply! I think I may try some of these crimp connectors, which is a squeeze from a pair of pliars and a snap, literally. I ended up going with a standalone backup camera, but I'll need to crimp into the reverse light power with supplied crimp connectors easily. For Bluetooth, I'll probably send some business WILLPowered's way and order his unit with supplied convertor. Other upgrades I'm looking at doing are the 3M headlight restoration (thanks for that how-to video also) and some LED headlights. Also bought a quick release NRG steering wheel. Project truck for sure. Will definitely be referencing your videos over the next few months for everything. Thanks again!
@@TheRealGally thank you! Sounds like a good weekend project. These trucks are addicting. Ive got a power steering setup from a Van to put on the truck soon. Stay tuned…..
@@rhd_ron woah. That sounds killer! Will definitely watch that video when it releases. My mechanical know-how starts and ends with oil changes and changing a tire, so I purposely bought one of these trucks as a project vehicle to learn a bit more than the basics. Exciting stuff. Wife doesn't think it's as exciting as I do, but thus is life, haha!
Should hav used scraps on outer metal inside doors makes door close sound😘
Is the killmat water proof?
I am not sure actually. Its pretty thick so I would say water resistant maybe?
@@rhd_ron works for me I have a 97 acty and been watching your videos thank you for sharing info!
Are you using the 80ml size for the Kilmat?
Yes indeed. The link is in the comments too.
Which rims and tires are on your truck
TE37s 14x5, +45mm
Cut wires one at a time as not to jump and blow a fuse
And/or have the battery disconnected
So I'm to the point of soldering everything. But cannot for the life of me figure out how to wire this up. I've got the speakers. And ground black to black. But the rest I cannot figure out. My 2 plug doesn't have a white blue. It's have brown black and red green.
I believe the white/blue was memory if I recall. I had to run an entirely different set of two wires to the driver door. They were not in the factory harness.
Ron great vid very helpful. Do you have a way to contact clayton for a speaker bracket?
Yep I can! Or you can contact him at @RHD_Clayton on Instagram!
I don't Instagram....so any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated
@@jasonlewis6401 I will reach out to Clayton and see what he can do to help. Thanks!
What can a person expect to pay to buy and import a Honda like this?
They range depending on mileage, A/C, condition of course. Id expect to pay $4000-$6000 for a pretty decent one shipped with AC.
@@rhd_ron well you convinced me. I have a bid in on one in Japan lol. We will see if I win tomorrow. 😅
@@catchncookchannel8256 good luck!
my stupid acty van only has 1 speaker. --_____--
Ugh I know it. They ALL seem to have only one speaker on the passenger side. At least the 90-96 models I’ve worked on. Well, my video shows you how to add one! Thanks.
