  • Arctic flying in a Mooney M20J. Scenes of arrival to Cambridge Bay, north of the arctic circle, landing on gravel, pumping gas from a barrel. Then we flew to Churchill with a stop in Baker Lake. Full ILS into Churchill. Saw Beluga Whales, Polar Bears, Arctic Hare, and lots of other wildlife. Finally flew back home with stops in Timmins and Rochester.

    I have been watching this guys channel for a couple years and this dude is the ultimate single engine pilot. He goes everywhere in that plane. The Carribean , South America, and Canada. I hope I can get my Cherokee 180 in the near future.

    Another great trip, Michael, thanks for sharing! Mooney fans know their speed, efficiency and capabilities allow things no other plane delivers. This trip would be unlikely with any other plane, thanks for spreading the word!

    I work the Radio Office at CYYH and CYBB. Great to see private pilots coming up here to visit.

    Flew in the north a number of years. If he thinks Cambridge Bay was a typical northern gravel strip, he's outta luck.

Would be my first choice as well owning one - if I should ever could... Thanks a lot for sharing your life with the Mooney wth us, Thomas Popiela, Berlin, Germany

    this might be the only pilot on youtube that approaches airports like he might lose his engine, which is how i learned. high as you can, until you can reduce power as much as possible and make the runway.

    I wondered what you were going to do about the overheight at 10:40, and then you went into a side slip of the sort of I used to find myself doing a lot. All too familiar :-)

    awesome on the side slip landing at the second airport, how long did it take you to fill up at the first with the hand pump, and again awesome flying and piloting fellow aviator!

      What, my deicing boots? Just kidding, it's just leading edge tape in attempt to stop the paint pealing back but didn't help.

    Hi,, thanks for the postings. I was wondering what was the fuel prices at time of landings? I'm just curious; I'm a A&P down here in NM, and we're always wondering about prices around the world.
    Thanks in advance...

    Do you have Icing protection on your Mooney i see the black leading edges is this a weeping wing or ice boot or just part of the paint job?? Nice flying up there!!!

    • @Mooney201er
      @Mooney201er  9 років тому +1

      That's just tape to keep the paint on. But it isn't working. No deice on M20Js.

    do you ever fly at night or is it something you avoid since light and sun is safer?
